I actually agree with Class here. I don't think torture as a punishment can ever be justified.

We're talking comic Joker here. As in, kills children and skins men alive for fun Joker, not "le edgy order iz chaos lel" TDK Joker. I'd say if you can't kill him at least paralyze him.
I never said he couldn't kill the son of a bitch.

Not arguing with that, but Rorschach wouldn't have even hesitated to kill the Joker the first time he met him. Hell, Rorschach would've probably tortured him for hours as "justice".

Now, Rorschach would make an amazing villain, and you wouldn't have to change a single thing to make him an antagonist. But the fact that people actually see him as heroic is honestly sickening.

You're either unfamiliar with the character, or gravely mistaken.

Rorschach has never tortured anyone.

I tried watching the Big Bang Theory once when I was a little younger.

Made me feel extremely old. The only people I ever met that ever truly watched that show were 45 year old moms.

Must be small reptilians to fit under all that forming musculature and external organs.

Not that I seriously consider the idea.

I think he's the way he was because he was never given a positive example. He doesn't believe in a higher power because he's never really exposed to good, and thus sees little to no hope in the world. He has a misogynistic view of women because he's only ever exposed to whores and other immoral individuals, rather than women of strong moral character.

He's really quite a tragic (but badass) character. He stands out as the most morally pure amongst the Watchmen, and yet, he was never exposed to good, only the evil and immorality of the world. Instead of a love of good, he is motivated by hatred, a hatred of all things evil.

That is precisely why Rorschach is not only my favorite of the Watchmen, but also my favorite DC character.
His uncompromising nature is quite unique.

Indeed. I love how Moore has stated he doesn't know why Rorschach became so popular. Gee, I wonder why, Alan? Maybe because you wrote him as the only one who's morally upstanding and a badass?

Perhaps it's because Rorschach was fundamentally broken in the first place. He never questioned himself, and as time went on he only became more ruthless uncompromising in his actions.

There was no grey for Rorschach. Only black and white.

I think it would be a good time to mention that I am extremely frightened of bees.
If you're allergic to them then I understand.
I don't know, but I probably am.

All that pollen on them, filthy things.
