Those cables at the bottom AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Oh? You want computer gore? Here's a picture of Avalon's cable management (or lack thereof) before I took it apart.

Spoiler
god damn

i have a small form factor gaming PC nowadays and I remember never being happy with the way cables looked on my mid-tower

it's the best feeling when you remember how to no scope even though they did make it harder at long range it's still doable at closer ranges

played the pit on infinite and was bumper jumping and no scoping like it was halo 3 against casuals on btb all over again except this was diamond IV ranked hahaha

i feel like a retired F1 driver going out to a track day against kids who just got their first track cars built

got myself a Trinitron (very cool and based CRT TV) so kinda keen to get to work on my old school games backlog. Got a tonne of  6th-7th gen games I wanna get to work on.
gotta enable the scan lines and put it at 144hz and it’s so worth it

those indie games that try to look retro really shine once you have on those scan lines and they’re so snappy on a 144hz CRT

i was kind of put off from that style because pixel art isn’t interesting to me (seems like a relic that’s just simple and lazy to do) but once you have a set up where the game could fool you into actually being old school it’s like a blast from past and they’re actually better than the real classics

I might play Marathon games later...
the second one is the best one

the first one is really interesting but it’s quite ugly and it’s not actually a fun game unless you really want to dedicate yourself to the story of it

imagine a shooting game that’s more of like a mind-fuck puzzle-platformer and the story is told only by reading the terminals from fallout

so if you really really love that feeling of walking through weird levels with random shoot-fests that don’t really play out smoothly while stopping to read a book then go for it

Marathon 2 fixed problems by having more shooting and better looking levels while having the story feel more of like how Halo does it, where Cortana is kind of the player’s brain or the main character and you’re just a tool of destruction

Halo, Marathon and Destiny are the same formula but Marathon 2 is the true blueprint for taking the story of how weird AIs can be more human than the human-killing-machine-cyborgs-against-an-ancient-evil they’re in charge of

texture mods are honestly the best bet for modding the online experience because textures just improve the fidelity so you can have like 4K or even 8K textures are out there

I can’t tell if UI overhauls cause problems but i had really good luck with floating damage numbers and increasing stat details where i would say reliability is about the same

a lot of weather mods cause problems because when you join a server you join it after when you load a game, then connect so your game flies through the clock and weather cycles have to sync

so if it’s 3 PM and clear and the server says it’s 5 AM and raining then the weather mods are like oh shit and the engine can’t do it even though it tries to and sometimes works really well

the elephant in the room is that you aren’t going to be beating this game with a friend or a party

you simply can’t because at some point, things are going to break and the scripted quests will not work because of a magnitude of reasons

however…
you might be able to fudge your characters enough to piece together a good playthrough and I’ve found out how to do this by having one friend be the dedicated main character, where they are the only ones who talk to NPCs for quests and they do the looting and when another party member runs into serious problems they have to make a new character (I used a .bat file to do this so it takes like two minutes tops)

using the console commands level yourself up where you were with the other character and give yourself the gear you had again and whatever else you need to be able to play decently

around level 30 for everyone the game started becoming a nightmare and so we just kept one person as the “host” and everyone just cheated in a way where you couldn’t tell a difference and that save game was “fresh” and thus the scripting issues were not piling up

thank you for coming to my ted

i imagine sex mods use custom wire frames and textures so anything with that is going to have to be universally installed
Yeah, custom skeleton rigging and also using FMIS to completely reload thousands of new animations into the game, usually having to get a new version of that tool to make it load even more and still you'll get missing animations.  Also both players would have to be using the same models using Caliente's BBE or else there'd be clipping issues or something I'd imagine.

I know because uh, a friend told me.
ok so being serious here mods do work they just have to be the same mods in the same load order

if you and a friend want to install beautification mods and better animations then it’s perfectly doable but face sculpting doesn’t work

the game treats your friend as an NPC so if you have mods that can set global settings for NPCs then you can make adjustments to your friend’s character if you have something really specific you are trying to accomplish

> oh yeah and mods work but obviously not to the fullest extend

No sex mods :<
i was in a server and we were experimenting with mods and they actually do work you just want to have the same mods installed and ideally in the same load order

the game is more stable if there’s not a lot of mods installed and thus co-op works much better

not sure about sex mods but i have animations for emoting and other plays could see everything just fine

i imagine sex mods use custom wire frames and textures so anything with that is going to have to be universally installed

it has co op mods and they work really well

idk if anyone cares about that game but if enough people actually want to play it i may build a server for it for the best experience possible but there’s some servers out in the wild to use

works with 2-8 players really well and all you need is the Steam version, a plug-in and Skyrim Together Reborn

oh yeah and mods work but obviously not to the fullest extend

Is a straight down fucking truth. I've lost nearly £15 in the last two and a half months.

Which isn't a good thing but I do kind of miss the daze where I can just order Chinese takeout without fear of any financial turmoil from doing so.

The Flood / i no longer have to listen to music to know if a song is good
« on: October 25, 2022, 09:51:38 AM »
i once was just a regular joe, who foolishly listened to music in order to see if a song was enjoyable but after hours and hours of learning about frequency response, pressure physics, radiology, and modern digital to analog audio tricks such as short-term fourier transform to determine how a waveform will produce sound.

other methods are using tools like spotify rippers and youtube terminals to browse popular audio services through the Linux command like (arch), i listen to all my audio with a waveform and spectrogram sampled to 48khz (44khz is too compressed on the high end [i have hd800s and a D50s digital-to-analogue audio converter and generate my own clean audio via solar and a true sine wave power supply to prevent PWM spikes in the sub bass] so i can tell the difference)

another thing i have done is extensively listen to every popular recording studio and their respective labels in order to identify if a song is good just based on how the track is produced since most production music is board-design garbage

anyway, i hope you find these tips useful and you can enjoy listening to music by simply looking at a .jpg of the songs signal response

Just a reminder - I lived in Louisiana for 16 years in a shitty neighborhood, and lived in Arkansas for another 9 with no problems whatsoever.

Since coming to Utah for the year and a half I've been here, I have been beaten to unconsciousness and robbed (with broken but thankfully fixed teeth), had an actual home robbery, and now I'm partially blind. Last part is incidentally my fault for not just kicking it away and not properly washing my hands afterwards... but fuck this state. Makes me want to move away as far as possible.
whether you want to or not, it sounds like you're on the path to being an excellent country singer. just need to throw in some good bar fights

What do either gain from the partnership? Sony possibly gets more exclusives I suppose but I don’t understand how Bungie is going to benefit. Gotta be a good deal or maybe Bungie is being dumb. Someone is desperate in some way.
