It's a backquote, at very least it is used in command substitution in bash scripts. It might as well be used in other programming languages somewhere.

Also Venice being both tourist attraction and having high humidity is just perfect, perfect place for this virus to operate.
Other viruses like influence are harder to spread in humid weather because the humidity condenses more water on the respiratory droplets from coughing or sneezing which causes them to fall to the ground faster and not travel as far. I've heard that the WHO was hoping that SARS-CoV-2 would also share this property which could make it more seasonal like the influenza virus, but they needed to study it further to determine whether or not that is the case.

Has there been some evidence that the humidity somehow has the opposite effect for this virus and makes it spread easier?
Huh, no, you are actually right. I missremembered it. Sorry.

Nobody knows the reason why Italy is severely affected
There are two reasons why Italy is severely affected.

1) Italy has high standard of living, and a lot of people in their 60+ not only are alive, but can (and prefer to, because mentality to live life to fullest, to enjoy it) walk around freely, which worked in favour of infecting more people
2) Their city infrastructure involves a lot of narrow streets and alleys where virus is more likely to survive.
Bonus) Also Venice being both tourist attraction and having high humidity is just perfect, perfect place for this virus to operate.

Well, now that COVID delayed my service in military, might as well play Super Mario 3 for the first time in my life and other NES titles.
ever play Crystalis? one of my favorites

haven't found an NES game i like more than castlevania 1, though
No, I haven't played it, although I looked at some gameplay and I think I would like it too. I also noticed safe feature (as saves, not as passwords) in it and I don't think that I would find this game here ever because saving a game state would require additional hardware on a chip and nobody would like to manufacture those here due to additional cost.

It's also hard for me to pick my favourite one because on one hand there are so much well designed games on NES with good soundtrack, good story (which I couldn't appreciate however, because games would come in their original language, usually japanese which I don't understand) and on the other hand I missed majority of the popular titles such as Castlevania, Final Fantasy, MegaMan, Zelda, Fire Emblem and if I played them, then one of them could become my favourite one. But I think my favourite right now is Final Mission.

Today I've been looking for one NES game for several hours and I found it, along 4 others I had interest playing (but forgot about them after years). So I found

Adventure Island 4
Target Renegade, which was also known for me as Double Dragon IV (thanks China)
Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu, which was called Mario 10 (Kung Fu MARI)
Kaiketsu Yancha Maru 3: Taiketsu! Zouringen, which was Mario 14 (Goddammit China, 14 mario games. 14!!)

and finally was looking for:
Challenger

(gave links in form of simple links instead of Youtube videos to prevent thread from loading longer. All those are from longplay channel)

I typically fill my day with excursions and brief meets with friends so this is killing me. It's nice to be alone, but it is hard to always be alone.
With internet you are not alone, but lonely

people who enjoy work are alien creatures

It's not so much as work as it is normal routine and something to do

Also what is your avatar and why have you changed it
Pretty sure that's COVID19

I'm really starting to lose my mind not working. Usually it's halfway through the fourth day of no-work when I start to unravel and get anxious, but for whatever reason it didn't hit me until the end of day 5. I want to go back to work, like right now. I don't care if people call me a workaholic, I feel like I'm just rotting away in my apartment right now.

Send help.
Maybe try to read work related literature and write out ideas you want to try when quarantine will be over?

It's fixed. Apparently what happened was that BIOS zeroed itself. In the middle of me using system.

I'm thankfully working from home for the next week or two or however long, as long as my employer is okay with it. The thing that sucks is that it fucking wrecks older people and people with weak immune systems AND it has a week-or-more-long period where you don't always have symptoms.

I definitely don't want to get it and then pass it without knowing to my grandparents or mom, who are all immune-compromised.
Look from a good side of things: you now have more time to implement sep7agon 3.0 with print button and blackjack.

I don't remember the last time I didn't spend a birthday alone

You need to put up a Craigslist post to get some dudes over so you can some mileage out of the trap life
I live too rurally for that. I'm doomed to be wasted potential
just arrange some sort of chaturbate via discord. Go a step further: make them pay money. Go two steps further: arrange an entire harem. Go three steps: make a religion out of it

>95%+ people survive
>80% of cases are mild
>If I get it I'll just kill myself
You actually can't know this, sick people are mostly ones that don't visit hospital, also government might not tell you truth to not spread more panic than needed or for other reasons.
If you account for the people that are infected but not bad off enough to be hospitalized or get tested then the death rate would actually be even smaller.
It's hard to judge by the death rate number since it takes a few days for virus to incubate, meaning that in some countries it just didn't have time to start killing people yet. Ultimately how good virus will do it's job depends on government measures and people awareness and cooperation.
