I as an oil company can sell gas to a European country for $10 a barrel, OR I can take a hit to the knee caps and sell for $3.57 to the US if they pass this price gouging (price control) bill.

I wonder what decision I’d make and what effects that would have on the supply of oil in the states....
this did strike me as shockingly stupid

i suppose the democrats can’t help themselves…

I guess It’s a good thing overturning Roe vs. Wade doesn’t do anything against abortions by itself otherwise you might have me here.
I can basically guarantee that the decision would be met with legislation in both of our states almost immediately

makes sense, because when I see brands pretending to be hardcore activists in elaborate marketing schemes, I wish my parents had killed me in the womb

i’d say there’s a pretty blatant false equivalence between rioters incited by lies from a president, desperately trying to hold on to power, and rioters incited by actual rights being infringed/taken away.

not really relevant to the thread, but my extremely conservative governor only got 48% in his primary yesterday, simply for doing some bare-minimum shit about covid in the first couple months, and not being a trump bootlicker

Incredible

2021: right-wingers try to overthrow the government when they lost an election
2022: roe v wade at risk of being overturned

we really need to stop the radical left agenda though

Do you see any outcome on the horizon that doesn't end in the further divide of 330 million people?
not likely

Quote
If neither group is happy with a system that forces them together, a divorce is the only logical choice for a sliver of a chance at happiness.
this seems like quite a ridiculous leap, however

is this something that people are actually saying?

don’t game that much these days, so I usually only get games that come highly recommended anyways.

the last time I remember really disagreeing with the consensus was way back with gta online.

I had plans to meet with some guy from bnet for a movie and when I got there he just never replied to me but apparently he was there so we both just watched the movie without ever seeing each other lol

Gaming / Re: ITT we convince Verb to play Elden Ring

Playing on PS4.

I’m finding it the most satisfying to play (not necessarily the best) because it’s a lot easier to just do something else when you get stuck on a boss than in the other games.

I usually find the lore interesting in these games, but this one is just incomprehensible to me.

I’ve got 5 audible credits I need to spend before I can stop my subscription if anybody has some good non fiction recommendations.

Off-topic but it’s quite the grift they’ve got going. I don’t want to lose my credits, but also don’t want to spend them on something I’ll never read, so I just continue to get charged $15 a month.

I thought Don’t Look Up was pretty entertaining, if you don’t mind fairly on-the-nose political commentary

you could skip Matrix Resurrections

Frankly I'm just shocked this place still lives on after what 7 or 8 years now, especially since this was such a niche community to begin with.
agreed

but then again, the mlp off-site started before us and is still very active, while not even trying to get new members
Holy shit bronies are still trending?
lol I think they stopped branding as an “mlp group” a long time ago, I just think it’s funny that’s how it started
