In my mind this would be a movie you saw at a young age, that you were excited for, and didn’t just blindly enjoy after watching it.

For me, it’s x men the last stand

Gaming / Playing through Dark Souls
« on: April 18, 2020, 11:21:24 AM »
Hello friends,

I have never actually beaten the first Dark Souls. I got the game back in 2012, made it about half way into the game, and then just quit and never picked it up again.

I got my brother and cousin into it and I recently discovered that they had both beat the game. So because I no longer want to be the beta cuck of the family, I just picked up Dark Souls Remastered and am going in.

WHICH CLASS DO I PICK

Serious / Why don't people care about the Biden allegations?
« on: April 15, 2020, 02:28:07 PM »
Seemingly only a fraction of people that were outraged about Kavanaugh care about the Biden allegations.

https://www.jacobinmag.com/2020/04/joe-biden-tara-reade-sexual-assault-allegation-media
https://www.nationalreview.com/2020/04/new-york-times-unequal-coverage-sexual-assault-allegations-against-joe-biden-brett-kavanaugh/

The links describe the very different reactions in media coverage but it can really be extended to everyone. All week I've been seeing progressives described as "privileged" for if they won't support Biden. We'll see if trying to cover this up and basically gaslighting their own voterbase will be a winning strategy.

tl;dr:
>Kavanaugh is accused of assault when he was a teenager
>National outrage
>Biden is accused of rape when he was a Senator
>Error 404: Not Found

Imagine wondering why conservatives don't trust the media.
Imagine wondering why conservatives don't care about issues like this.

But I guess the ends justify the means :-)

Not sure if you guys have seen this already but I can't recall there ever being a thread or anything on it. I was watching a couple "creepypasta" type videos over the weekend and just found this in my recommendations:

Turns out Clockman was actually real the whole time.

Serious / Some key statements from Michael Cohen
« on: February 27, 2019, 05:05:20 PM »
Quote
"He was a presidential candidate who knew that Roger Stone was talking with Julian Assange about a WikiLeaks drop of Democratic National Committee emails."
Quote
"Mr. Trump did not directly tell me to lie to Congress. That's not how he operates."
Quote
"Trump knew of and directed the Trump Moscow negotiations throughout the campaign and lied about it. He lied about it because he never expected to win the election. He also lied about it because he stood to make hundreds of millions of dollars on the Moscow real estate project."
Quote
"Mr. Trump would often say, this campaign was going to be the 'greatest infomercial in political history.'"
Quote
"He once asked me if I could name a country run by a black person that wasn't a 'shithole.' This was when Barack Obama was President of the United States."

"He told me that black people would never vote for him because they were too stupid."
Quote
"This $35,000 check was one of 11 check installments that was paid throughout the year -- while he was President. The President of the United States thus wrote a personal check for the payment of hush money as part of a criminal scheme to violate campaign finance laws."
Quote
"Questions have been raised about whether I know of direct evidence that Mr. Trump or his campaign colluded with Russia. I do not."
Quote
"I have never been to Prague."
Quote
"What he didn't want was to have an entire group of thinks tanks run through his tax return ... and then he'll end up in an audit and eventually have taxable consequences."
CNN

A lot to unpack here. Republicans seemed to focus on his lack of credibility but his statements seem believable to me.

So I just saw Aquaman, which is currently sitting at a 70% on rotten tomatoes with 107 reviews, and thought it was fucking garbage. Like I haven't seen a movie this bad in a while. I'd say it's easily a contender for worst in the DCEU for me.

Basically every single line spoken in the movie is expository dialogue, barring the comedy bits. The performances were some of the most bland I've ever seen (Jason Momoa and Nicole Kidman are the only ones that seem like they're trying). No-name actors like Black Manta were just terrible.

There were these weird shots where the camera would be directly in front of the actors face when they spoke dialogue. Willem Dafoe would have these lines where he's talking to himself and it just seemed like he was literally reading the script to the audience. I feel like I'm not even one to complain about this type of stuff usually but it felt so forced and unnatural that I could never get invested in the movie.

The critics seem to be mainly praising the visuals and "epic scale". The visuals are excessive to say the least, with way too much CG and obvious green screen that the action was really uninteresting. I wouldn't exactly call it "epic" just because there's hundreds of CG sharks and made up creatures swimming around on screen. And people are comparing this to Lord of the Rings? Kill yourselves.

It also seems to directly contradict Justice League where we literally see Aquaman go to Atlantis (which is where he lives iirc) and talk to Amber Heard about some shit I didn't pay attention to. In this movie: he's always lived on the land, has never been to Atlantis, meets Amber Heard for the first time, and then they reference Justice League as already having happened.

All in all, they need to cancel this franchise already. They don't even have a Superman or Batman anymore and it sounds like they're just planning to write around it. But I know Aquaman is going to perform decent at the box office and they'll keep this shitshow going.

Spoiler
Into the Spiderverse was pretty good though.
