The Flood / Re: Why do you people "favorite" female members?
« on: May 09, 2015, 11:48:25 AM »
So I've been lurking this place for a long ass time and I've noticed something. A lot of you people seem to pick "favorites" among the female members and treat them very differently than you do the male members here. Why does their gender even matter? What do you hope to accomplish by this?

Why do you people like your favorite female members? What's so special about them? Why aren't other male members deserving of the same treatment you show them?
The men do this in a hope attempt to hook onto a woman and reel them in.

Does this guy look depressed to you? xD

Actually funny enough now that you mention it. Some of those monks that set themselves on fire. They don't, or didn't, even flinch. No screaming no yelling no nothing. They just sit there and burn.

There's so much self control from them that a catholic priest would would probably explode at the thought of it.
For some strange reason, they have my respect. I would totally love to be in that kind of control.... just I wouldn't do that part.

If you love to ruin lives, Narc. If you want to be ethical, you leave it be as its not your place to interfere.

ahh in comes the paranoia.

xD. That's not paranoia, that happens often in this country.

The religion of lazy people who sit around all day and get free food.

Basically 25 year olds who play video games all day and live with their mom.
-Not 25 till next year
I thought you were 16 or 17....
Hope I didn't burst any bubbles

I still play L4D2 on Steam time to time. Almost every character has their own unique skin to make the game more entertaining for me.

fat load of good all this domestic spying is doing, eh? NSA might as well be captain hindsight.
"Hey, so this guy we're watching who tried to join al-Shabaab suddenly acquired two assault rifles. Let's sit here and do nothing about it."
I think they are purposely being lazy like this to try and convince the public about banning guns one day.
DA CONSPIRACY!!

INFOWARS.COM
Never been there before. It amazes me though, that people can't possibly comprehend the possibility that their own government is up to shady tricks now and then. Its not out of the realm of possibility and would explain why ISIS has not gained nearly as much attention as Al-Qaeda did.

Which by the way, the CIA trained Bin Laden during the time Soviet Russia occupied Afghanistan. Bin Laden used his training to form resistance to break down and fend off the Soviets.

Agreed. However, it is also ignorant to say that America can't become any more free than it is. There is still much, much to do.

Here is my situation:

-Has gone back to his reading habits as main source of entertainment
-Not 25 till next year
-Works at the same job for almost 5 years and pays rent
-Does live with parents still
-Has a 762 credit score
-I've never been in a deficit of money
-Have money stashed in four separate locations
-No girlfriend I need to support
-Bring home nice little surprises to my folks. Like extra groceries and treats.

Could I take on more "responsibility"? Yes. Do I want the unnecessary, financial stress that comes with it? No :P

I guess I could be like a co-worker of mine instead? Here's a co-worker's situation

-Moved out of parents house at 20
-Did NOT move out on good terms. (They thought she was kidnapped)
-This is her second year of work
-Lives in a apartment paying triple the cost of rent I am
-Is in a bank deficit of -$400ish.
-Has a boyfriend that has job yet
-I don't know about her credit score though

——————————--

Back onto topic though. It is true that a lot of Buddhists are from poorer countries than ours, but are they more miserable? Unlikely.

Gaming / Re: DBZ Xenoverse is fun

The game feels schizophrenic, like it can't quite decide if it's a fighting game or an RPG. It was fun until I realized that it was mostly a game of numbers instead of a game of skill.
min/maxing wont win fights for you alone, you do need significant skill to be a good pvp player
Unless the person you are fighting is a modder X_X And stats are maxed passed 100 each.
yeah i heard the PC version had bad problems with cheaters in online PVP. and i know that about the stats..
PC version on Steam is nearly dead even..

the thing that makes Buddhism good is that it borders the line between religion and philosophy

I'd rather just make my own personal "religion" however.

i'm basically trying to tell you that you should worship my dog
But Buddhism doesn't worship a deity and I hold no belief in one such existing. Furthermore, I am only willing to worship your dog if he/she is a German Shepherd. :P

I really do like buddhism, I just love blood and gore and violence and material possessions too much to be one ;-;

You don't have to give up any of that. Nowhere does it say surrender your possessions, just to not be so attached to them. As for blood, gore and violence.. Books, Movies, Video games ; )

Meditation may be psychologically beneficial, but don't buy into the metaphysical bullshit.
Meditation feels great, but often I am willing to bet, I try too hard with it and it doesn't function authentically? What could be bullshit with such metaphysical as Buddhism?

Currently reading "The Accidental Buddhist"

That sounds like a fun book that is happening to me. Haha
It's actually really funny and I recommend it to anyone getting into Buddhism :P
I'm getting it soon
