I know this kind of seems like an asshole thing to say, but I have a hard time justifying feeling really bad about this to myself. I mean, the rhino isn't a part of the ecosystem anymore, so the loss (even of the species) won't damage any others. We aren't loosing a particularly unique species.
I guess this is a hallowing omen of what lies ahead, but we have DNA samples, the ecosystem is operating fine without them (I assume), and I have faith that if re-creating mammoths is an option for science in the future, A white rhino will be no challenge.

I'm not completely convinced it was a criminal attack quite yet. Powdered chlorine is used in a lot of things so I think that there is still a possibility this is just an accident, and not the actions of some furry genocide group.

Normally I write this stuff off as attention whoring. But there's something about this one, perhaps because it's from Sandtrap, perhaps it was the fact that he made a voice message instead of typing, perhaps its the stress in his voice and the way he speaks.
