If the metroid series is anywhere as boring as what I just read, then there is absolutely no chance I'll ever get it

Dont woy it's actualy a lot mmore interesting when you play, although it's not a fast paced combat game like Halo if that's what you are looking for, untill you get to boss battles or fights with space pirates. It's more of a huge puzzle game with heavy atmosphere, in lome ways simmilar to Dark Souls without the uber heavy challenge, or a darker shooter equivalent to Legend of Zelda. You search the world solving puzzles nd killing to find what you need to progress, using the power ups to make your way through the mazelike wworld and methodically take out enemies.

There's a whole lot of hiden stuff to that you have to figure out to 100% the game, and even more that you can learn to speedrun which is one of Metroids strongest attributes.

Alot of boss fight involve probem solving more than pure combat skill, for example one boss in Super Metroid can be won with the method of breaking a turret off of the wall and lettting the boss grab you, and then grappling the power node to electrocute both yourself and the boss which will die before you do. And alot my favorites require clever uses of the morph ball and it's abilities to with.

The game does not hold you hand either. You have to figure this out either out of your own crerativity and observations in the 2D games or vauge hints that require you to pay attention in Prime.

Metroid isnt actually a character driven game either. Infacct the tone is more of isolation than anything.
