Good character writing goes so far beyond simple dialogue. Gee thanks. I totally didn't know that.
It doesn't change the fact that dialogue is an integral part of a character being good or not.
And it's actually in-character for the characters in LiS to talk the way they do. They go to a hipster art school, ffs. They're supposed to be pretentious and faux-intellectual. Even hipsters don't talk like they've just jumped straight out of the 80's.
It's just another example of an out of touch foreign dev studio trying to write a game.
If you saw a grand church with majestic intricate architecture, but it has a stain on one of the windows, you'd probably say the whole church was garbage.
I wouldn't, nor is this even remotely a good comparison
It's more like the Organ is off tune horribly during every single one of the hymns and the Mic has an audible screech during the entire Sermon It's the reason I dont watch Cardfight Vangaurd in English. because even though the show itself isnt bad the dialouge and voice acting in the are distractingly bad and in turn make the show bad.

Spirits Within is a shitty Final Fantasy movie that nobody remembers
I don't even know how that movie even qualified as Final Fantasy. It was literaly a sci-fi movie with nothing to do with any of the games. It didn't even have chocobo's or anything. It's like a Halo movie set in mid 18th century europe.

I think to get closer to verbs ideal society we'd have to change the way the school system and jobs work at a pretty dramatic way that it would be almost unrecognizable to us since it's goal would just be to keep itself stable and everyone happy rather than for the society to be driven by everyone's goal to get rich. "The concept of employers would change because the concept of Trickle down Economics" would be gone with capitalism.
The one problem I see (Other than getting people to the point where that society would function) is being able to entice enough people into roles that would support the infrastructure ( like Farming, and Sanitation and Engineering and other "Dirty" and niche jobs that keep everything running)
Would enough people be willing to happily work those jobs in a society where you have no money and are able to take on any profession you want? Maybe you could mandate everyone to share that kind of work, like every citizen having a certain amount of service per month they'd have to put in.
And how do you plan on making dealings with other countries, especial in terms of millitary, and trade?
