But still, how would a spartan IV beat a spartan II, I didn't need a boss fight because I know that Master Chief will kick Lockes ass.

S4s and S2s are mostly equals. Hence why the gameplay stays consistent regardless of which team you're playing on.

I mean, the fight ended in a near draw between the two. Locke literally had a pistol locked on Chief.

Even if the canon somehow details how wrong I am, the entire game leads you to believe that these two protagonists are on even grounds.
Nah, they're pretty much equal minus the experience and training the S2's have. Even still, S2's have gotten eviscerated before through being unlucky or outplayed. Chief and the rest of Blue team got taken down by Insurrectionists and kept prisoner until one of them that broke off before the ambush came back to save them.

Big difference is that Spartan II's are crazy strong out of the suit as well, Spartan IV's well the suit IS their power.

Spartan IVs are augmented too. To a slightly lesser degree but hey are augmented.

By the way when you fight the two Wardens together,  you can bring the tank if you brought a Wraith with you.

Honestly, though, the more I play of warzone the more I find it frustrating. It was amazing on the first couple days but now, I'm honestly just finding it frustrating to play even when I'm doing good.

There's only three maps, and only one (Apex 7) is any decent. The rest just become so chaotically filled with grenade spam it's no fun to play for the central objective. Plus, because of the constant rate of deaths, it's damnnear impossible to take a side base (Apex 7 discluded here) because as soon as one enemy enters the base, it stops the capture even if your entire team is there, so it gives time for everyone else to spawn and utterly rape you. Elsewise, trying to run around the map, particularly on Stormbreak, is pretty much begging to be cross-mapped by br spam and it's impossible to fight back because you can't actually aim at the enemy. And when one team pulls ahead even slightly, you may as well give up trying because they will get tanks and snipers when half your team is struggling to get a fucking plasma caster. Then it just devolves into a spawnkilling mess at a base where no one can push forward either way and that's not fun for anyone involved.

Don't get me wrong, those games where everyone seems to play for more objectives than the grenade clusterfuck and the game is pretty much neck-andneck are amazing and a blast to play. But they rarely happen outside of Apex 7.

So I've sort of lost my enthusiasm for warzone. I'm looking forward to when they modify it based on feedback and/ or add the PvE variant they talked about, but right now it's just a frustrating mess that isn't fun regardless of how good you're doing.

And don't get me started on Warzone Assault. Evey game i've played has been horrifically one-sided. Either mop up or get mopped up

You would think Halo 5 is pure crap if you go to Waypoint. Ever since the game released, people complain too much. Feels just like Bungie.net A neverending wave of entitled children bitching at developers.

I love people who think adding/ changing core features is a simple thing that only takes a couple hours to do.
Patch split-screen in pls 343

REMOVE SMART SCOPE
Funny way of spelling ADS

It still descopes when shot, and if you change the controls to a classic mode then it feels like older halo.

Of course, I use fishstick controls to stay mire in line with the other games I play.
>Animation is literally aiming down your sights
>It's not ADS
wut

In terms of the mechanics and how it functions, it's not. If you really want to argue the visuals, then fine. But that's just semantics.

It still performs, from a mechanical point of view, exactly the same as before. Minus the different button to use it.
>ADS button
>Looks like ADS
>Doesn't feel like ADS

We're at 2/3 here, I'm not convinced.

Change to controls to classic then. Then you only have 1/3. And the 1/3 that doesn't change anything.

Honestly, if consoles had custom button mapping (which is a rant for another time), this would be a non-issue anyway. I already set my MCC controls to battlefield style because LS to crouch and RS to scope is wrong.
But they chose to default to be something wrong. That is sin.
Oh my god, you're so fucking retarded.

but muh old animations

"These Guardians can police an entire solar system"

Can't even kill a few Spartans

I fail to see how governing an entire solar system is even that big of a threat. Humanity at this point IIRC is spread across the galaxy. Ooh, you can destroy 25~ solar systems if we say no.

The Covenant had the Orion Arm. Humans had not even a percentage of that.

The galaxy is still mostly unexplored - so i'm sad she doesn't list any species we haven't seen yet in the last mission.

Also lol the yonhet got mentioned before the jiralhanae.

Winy does not remember that Geas and genetic imprints are a thing in Halo.

The libarian's ability to influence future events through genetic manipulation is to the degree that with help from one of her own AIs she was able to get two humans to a specific island on earth to sing a specific tune that would allow for the Didact's crypum to open.

No buildup and no time to dwell on the fact that literally the most powerful non-Swords Sangheili is dead.

Let's also not forget that colossal damn cliffhanger where Earth falls completely under Cortana's control in about 30 seconds.

This ain't even Covenant invasion or Flood tier. She can access just about any communications technology that exists and shut down the entire planet in one shot.

There's gonna be some fucking serious magic out of a hat bologna to even try and fight that.

Seems like 343 took too big of a jump there.

To be fair, she has about 90% of the AI's/technology on her side, which is like our smartphones and technology.  If they shut down at once, lots of people would be freaking the fuck out.

Oh and the Guardian Ex Machina can send out a sonic pulse that is also a giant EMP I guess...which is an asspull, considering Osiris should've lost their HUDs or communications when the pulses went off in their vicinity.

343 is probably jumping the gun because they wanted something big, and they knew the hype was real.  So we're all left with nothing but questions and disappointment.

You're mistaking things again. Two kinds of pulses.

The ones it gives off when it activates, which are seismic based. They're more like a concussive blast wave, which is why it knocked ships out of the air and leveled sections of the planet.

And the one it fired at Earth in orbit, an EMP pulse.

But what else can it do?  We're told that a single one can patrol a system but all we've seen it do is flap its arms around.  What kind of armament does it possess?

This

Other than the complete disconnect from all the damn good promotial material, this is definitely the biggest disappointment. We don't realy get to see what the Guardians really do other than reenact the E3 Reveal trailer and go into slip space.

They could have at least had one glass a city, destroy a fleet, throw a damn rock at a guy, literally anything to demonstrate it's power and make the damn tagline Guardians mean something.

It's kind of interesting that 4 bad reviews out of 59 will lower your metacritic score by 3 whole points. Generally you'd throw out outliers, but this is metacritic so randomly weighting certain reviews and manipulating the scores to bring in traffic is to be expected.

Halo 5 's story for me is the equivalent of walking into the cinema, buying tickets for the latest James Bond 007 movie and then when you watch it it's the fucking Matrix.
Ain't a bad movie  but it's nothing even close to what you came expecting to watch.

You know, I think one of the really jarring things about it for me is how they reveal some of this stuff. Like there's no consistency, primarily in how they choose to reveal the Forerunners as we go along.

In the main trilogy, we got acquainted with the engineer and scientist constructs and technology. Largely automated machines, and monitors.

Then, we meet Didact and the Promethians. And this seems to be where things get a bit messy. Most of the Promethians we see in Halo 4 are composed ancient humans. Something that was living, but turned into an artifical construct.

Then suddenly out of nowhere in 5, we get another branch of Promethian soldiers. Are they composed Forerunners? Simple constructs? Or what? Why exactly are they suddenly different? And then, even further, we end up with Warden and the Guardians.

Why exactly does Warden get a million bodies? Was he a Forerunner or just another AI? Why, specifically does he get a tomb at the entrance to a Guardian to house all those bodies?

And the Guardians themselves. These machines were all buried far under their planets, so far down that you see lava. And they have the power to completely shut down an entire world of all its technology in one shot. Are you telling me these things weren't used to combat Flood infested ships or planets?

Or just convienently reburied after the Halos fired? It just seems a little off putting that we have all of these scattered styles everywhere. The Warden is literally just a pile of floating metal and hardlight plates.

Why do Promethians get semi-organic looking parts to them?

It just seems a bit messy to me.

The promethan soldiers as it was explaned somewhere else (I think Jurrasic Ark or whatever Vale's book was called)
is that those are promethean Armigers, basic forerunner battle bots that became obsolete with the logic plague.
No idea how they are being manufactured still. It was a mystery when It happened then (which was a few years before Halo 4) and it still is

Still not entirely sure what the Warden Eternal is, the only other Warden I know about is the one who tried the Didact. Maybe it's Greywarden's final form?
I don't see any problem with the Warden's replaceable bodies. It seems like something an AI would logicaly do.

Maybe they did burry themselves, just look at the gate to the Ark. my guess is that those facilities had been there on those planets ever since the guardians were built and opened up to let then back in when they were shut off. No is the forerunners used them against the flood or not, or what would prevent them from utilizing them

Halo 5 did leave way too many questions unanswered. They should have definitely explained how the domain came back after being destroyed, at least, and done at least bit more background on the guardians themselves.
