Simple: One is a campaign mission and the other is a lame commercial featuring a weapon skin that you dont even have to use if you don't like it. Sure 343 have been doubling down on the dumb ads lately but thats not the whole game.

If it bothers you this much go complain to 343 on reddit or waypoint. Tell 343 you don't like their ad campaign. Ill even back you up on it if you do.
It's not so much what it is, it's what it represents with regards to 343i's attitude to Halo.
It's not like they don't actualy take Halo seriously. We saw that they clearly do from the vast majority of the Halo 5 ad campaign (even though it ended up completely misrepresenting the story) The way I see it, they just wanted to do something different for the minor post launch ads instead of the same tired ones that every game ever does, and the result was just not good.

They claimed the overall narative was planned out before hand, but I find it so hard to belive that this was the direction they had always been planing to go in since Halo 4, especially since Halo 4 itself was so excellently written.
What happened to continuing John's development? Why have plot devices and threads form Halo 4 and the reclaimer trilogy been been seemingly erased from existence so suddenly? What purpose did focusing on Locke even serve?
It's pretty obvious that derderct was supposed to be the main antagonist but got switched halfway through development
I'm guessing because of all the crying about halo 4's story
Now that you say that, I wonder if The Next 72 Hours was the original premise of Halo 5, or at least part of it. and another thing is Jul Mdama. What the fuck was with Count Douku-ing him? I guess that could be atributed to Reed since it's not the first time he's pulled that bullshit, but you'd think that someone would say something about it, or that 343 still had plans for him.

I dont know that was actualy kinda silly in a good way. The same applies to most of the humor in halo 5 I cant put my hand on what makes me like one and dislike the other, I guess it has to do with those being simple Easter eggs, while this is their official ad for the game content. And something about the ad seems...I don't know, pretty forced in comparison... I really cant put my hand on it.

I loved the direction 343 was taking with Halo 4, but this legitamately has me concerned, especialy in regards to the story.
Sure the AI takover is a cool conceptual setting for future games and all, but it came out of left feild.
Why did 343 decide to abandon all of the build up they had with Halo 4, with the genesong, the Janus Key, the didact and the primordial's threat.
I didn't want to say this but Halo 5 feels like a completely different series than the rest.
It's not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination outside of the story, but god, this isn't what I wanted at all.

Halo 4 was great, but Halo 5...is just a confused mess.
I dont think 343 even know what they're doing. It's like they went from doing their own thing with Halo 4 to trying to apease the Halo community and emulate BUNGiE's style including the laid back attitude without actually understanding it. The thing is, outside of here, people don't seem to bothered with that ad from what I can tell.

343i have gone off the deep end.
I remember before Halo 4 was going to come out, 343i made a video showing off the Covenant weapons with the shittiest fucking "music" I have ever heard.
Now this video comes out and they continue that trend with this video. I mean, I'm not picking sides or anything here, but when Bungie would make a video of something to show off about Halo, they would use music from the Halo games because, you know, it actually makes sense and fits the atmosphere of Halo as it should.
Using the butchered new Mjolnir Mix song when they show the Halo 2 BR in this video doesn't count.
They've been under the illusion these videos are funny for months.
I'm sure the people who laugh at these videos are 10 year old kids whose first Halo game was Halo 5.
It's pretty clear that the ridiculous armour and weapons, alongside these videos, is 343 trying to show who their target audience is now. 10 year olds who only know and accept half-baked games.
For whatever reason 343 seems convinced that being intentionally corny somehow makes them not corny. The joke wore off after shinobi and now they're trying way too fucking hard.
