I see why everyone hates the durability now. Spoiler "A Modest Trial" has me breaking every single weapon before I can kill the damn thing. Honestly we need an entire game to be made full of Raid kind of stuff. Old or not they are still examples of exelent level design (with the exception of lolCrota) I had hopes Metroid Prime Federation Force would have been that, but Nintendo squashed those hopes faster than Destiny's campaign ended.

I never said the lore was bad. It's just presented only in such a dumb way that I never even bothered with it much.
Oh, I think the lore is bad. It's mostly just meaningless tidbits of information that don't hold up in-game. I always got a bit of a laugh from killing Oryx with a handful of guns. He's supposed to be just shy of a literal god, but about 5 minutes of being shot with bullets is enough to do it. And your mechanic buddy back at the tower can take his heart and turn it into a gun, for some reason.
Aren't the bombs what do Oryx in? And as for the gun, from what I understand of the lore, it was Oryx himself who designed it in order to keep himself alive in some capacity, and the plans come from the fragments around the ship.

The raids are what make it worth it. If you can get together a group who have never done one of the raids before, and who aren't complete bumblefucks I think you would really enjoy trying to figure them out. It would be an especialy good time to do it now since they have all been revamped to be relevant once again. The rest of the game however ranges from half-decent to some of the worst game design you'll encounter in a AAA title. Weapon hunting is good if that is your thing, they aren't quite as unique as Borderlands but they do the job. Average level design outside of the raids is generally if not universaly poor. If you thought Combat Evolved was monotonous you haven't seen anything yet. There are two times of objectives in Destiny's missions: -Go here and kill guys -Stand here and kill guys And occasional something gimmicky gets put it like half assed platforming segments. Bosses are especialy bad and boil down to bullet sponges with a legion of neverending trash mobs. A couple of missions break the mold somewhat. PvP is Mario Kart the FPS if the Karts in Mario Kart had RNG stats and every single player got a guaranteed Blue Shell every hundred yards. Do not get invested in this whatsoever unless you are actively trying to degrade your on emotional health. Other than that the game is your typical MMO grind in the form of an FPS. Even if that's not your thing I still think you should give it a shot if only for the raids which I honestly think you would enjoy figuring out.
