Spartans are giants compared to jackals so you'd have to crouch for it to even cover some of you.
In Ghost of Onyx and in the Halo CE trailer the Elites used a shield that's similar. It was large enough for from to stand behind it.
In ghosts of onyx, the spartan 3s were small teens. I don't remember the elites picking the shields off of jackals so they were probably fit for them. Regardless, just because something fits canon doesn't it mean it should be put in or fun. Spartan's can wrestle, disarm, put enemies in a head lock, strap c4 to themselves and allah akbar, carry a mongoose over their head, and dance. Then on top of that it's one more thing for 343 to have to worry about balancing in multiplayer. Who said it has to be in the MP? Not everybody that plays Halo plays it to masturbate to their stats. The thing can be in the campaign and for custom games. There is a thing called playing for fun.
No need to be upset :^) 343 isn't going to waste time and resources making 1 pointless armor ability, especially when over half the enemies carry weapons specializing in dropping said shields. It'd be fucking retarded seeing a giants ass spartan crouching walking behind a jackal shield with a little ass pistol only to take 3-5 bullets and get raped. Unless you play on easy that shield ain't gonna be worth a damn.

When I don't sleep well my dreams are weird and intense. A few days ago, I had one where I was at the zoo and heard screaming. I went to investigate and found Tommy Lee Jones with blood on his face standing in a dark tunnel, just able to see his silohoute in the tunnel. He looked at me with this face  and said "I couldn't stop it" as people ran past him. I heard another scream, this time in the other end of the tunnel approaching. I turned to run and the camera broke off me and panned back to the tunnel. You couldn't see anything. I heard Jones groan and the sound of a bag of potatoes hitting the ground from a tall building. "I FUCKING HATE YOU!!!" The kid from the video ran out of the tunnel, all white with black skull paint, moving like a berzerker from gears of war. That's about all I remember.

Both Elite designs are going to be used
Where'd you hear this? I know they used both in the comics but haven't seen anything saying H5 would use both.

It sure would be fun to be able to use those shields like them but I'm sure there's some retarded reason why we can't.

It's essentially just a bullet sponge. They would either make it weak and allow you to move full speed and it'd be pointless or make it similar to a hard light shield making you slow and allowing to to take a lot of damage, which would just slow the game down and not be enjoyable, especially with their vision of speeding up gameplay.

the 20 maps that are already in the game at launch alone is more than what you get in your average game
But if half are remixes, then that means we'd only be getting 10 original maps and 10 edited versions of those maps.

I'm reading that there will be 20 maps at launch, and 15 maps are free DLC.
That's a pretty decent amount.
Decent? That's an amazing amount for a modern FPS.
Doesn't every map get a remix though? If so then that numbers misleading.

If you went about it the right way it's completely viable to make it as a writer, if that's what you're passionate. You just gotta keep trying. Steven Kings first novel got rejected 30 times, he was about to give up and threw it away but his wife got it out of the trash and told him to not give up. Look at what famous writers have did/do leading up to getting published and look for principles you can follow. I'd look into marketing too, sense the best written book won't sell if no one knows about or it's marketed so poorly no one buys it.

Reach's shotgun was almost a power weapon. It's still my 2nd overall ToD. That thing was king of CQB
Wasn't the shotgun always a power weapon since 2001?
Officially it was but its range was so bad that it was fairly useless. If you gave someone a choice between any other power weapon and the shotgun, it's not the go to weapon.
