Serious / Re: Taking a semester off« on: April 07, 2016, 06:21:44 PM »
I don't know about a complete break but I would lighten the load. I took 6 classes this semester and it's draining as hell. I'm going to take 3 classes over the summer and go back to just 4 classes during fall and spring. Some progress is better than stagnation. Even if you only took one or two classes that's better than nothing.

The Flood / Re: Insomnia« on: April 05, 2016, 10:42:38 PM »
I found staying off my phone/laptop 3 hours before bed and taking low dose melatonin (like .25-.5mg) helped. I've read that the body produces melatonin in small amounts (.25mg), so most store bought kinds that come in 3mg tablets can cause an inverse stress response and keep you awake. I got around this by buying it as a liquid with a dropper that serves at a fraction of a mg per serving.
It's really all about maintaining a schedule and winding down before bed. Even doing leisurely things like standing at my desk on my laptop can get my brain into a work mindset, which is terrible before bed. I got out of my schedule and now I am having sleep probs again. As a PS, I recommend f.lux for your devices. Blocks blue light which suppresses melatonin. 275

I'm not familiar with the mental faculties of fish and if/how they are farmed and prepared.
If they are farmed in a pond/lake, I assume they are not even aware they are in captivity due to natural boundries as opposed to being placed in a fenced area or pen. I would say they have it better than cows. 277

The Flood / Re: So why does Spiderman keep rebooting?« on: April 01, 2016, 08:46:16 AM »
Sam Raimi felt he couldn't get the script right for Spiderman 4 and so he told Sony it was best to pass the torch.
Marc Web decided to do a darker retelling starting over but aside from a few aspects (web swinging, Peter's interaction with his love interest, and ASM2 costume), it was less well received. Garfield was upset that higher ups fiddled with the original "perfect" script and interfered with the creative direction of ASM2. That's why he blew them off for the dinner thing mentioned earlier, which offended them. This was at a time when there was an email exchange between Marvel and Sony about shared rights of Spiderman. Marvel wanted the rights back to SM in full but Sony still wanted to bank off him and movie merchandise, so the best they'd compromise was to offer a split where they pretty much let Marvel do all the hard work and sony still gets payed large sums of money. 283

There were certain subtleties that Toriyama and the good animators gave to the characters to make them unique. I would say so. My profile picture symbolizes myself. The dark clouds overhead are like the shroud that follows me irl, representing the dark events in my life. The bright horizon represents my bright future - slowly approaching. The forklift in the forefront is a metaphor for my character. An underappreciated, poorly recognized uplifter. My duty is to raise others.
