A 10/10 is a 10/10.

Gaming / Re: Today's the final day for the Halo 5 Beta
« on: January 18, 2015, 08:07:44 PM »
I've barely played it.

Oh well.
Spoiler
Same here. When it became opened to the preview members I played it and now I touched it for around three times. To me the gameplay is the best Halo wise so far but the 4V4 shit is just boring to me. I wished they also had a BTB playlist instead of it being a circle jerk for the MLG people.

Spoiler
You just described my thoughts perfectly. I haven't touched the game since playing one match of midshit- I mean regret.
Spoiler
The most I can handle now is one match. It just feels so damn boring since there's hardly anything to do. Most of the time I spend looking for someone and when I do find someone I end up getting double teamed or grenaded. Like I said this beta was nothing more of a test for the MLG people and nobody else. BTB should have also been in this to test out the vehicle combat.

I seem to remember that in Halo 4's hype train, we first got 4v4 footage around the same time as the Infinity commissioning video which showed us the Mammoth and the announcement of Valhalla and the Mantis all within the same fucking month. I really hope 343 doesn't start trying to beg for the tryhardy 'muh bee arr' audience and completely fuck over the BTB side. Right now, we haven't even had any hints about something cool like Invasion or Dominion, at least the former was in the actual beta. Y'know, with banshees and wraiths and fun shit. People can talk shit about everything else about reach as much as they like, but invasion on boneyard was some of the most fun I've had in halo mm.
Considering there was a just a long arena beta they are probably saving most of the other reveals for E3 and Halo Fest.

My question is how frieza would even be able to fight goku, or any of them? I mean he was barely able to go toe to toe with a normal Super Saiyan, and he was taken out in a matter of seconds by trunks as well, how the fuck is he still going to be relevant?
but Frieza had attained an overwhelming power-up!

“Allow me to show you… my further evolution!”

Quote
and Goku does not become a Super Saiyan during his battle with Frieza, as he no longer needs the form.
Ehhh

Spoiler
It depends how Frieza comes back and how he matters in the story.  I'd like a movie where the most of the Z characters fight and are accurately depicted.

Battle of Gods marketing showed Krillian, Tien, Yamacha, the kids, Gohan, etc in posters and edited trailers like they were all gonna fight.  In the actual movie every one but Goku and Vegeta gets 1 hit KOed essentially and the strength differences between characters were off in my opinion.

I feel Frieza is going to get a unnecessarily large power buff to be a threat to Goku who's body adjusted to his god powers making him immensely stronger in base form and everyone else.  It will prolly be cool to watch though.
I wouldn't mind seeing the whole franchise get rebooted and put everyone on a more level playing field, or somehow write in some way to make Yamcha and krillen and the gang not blow
I'm kinda surprised Toriyama didn't have King Kai or Goku teach the humans Kaioken early on and have that be a human thing.

1566
I don't mind tbh as long as it's not further developing on the GT series and remains with the Z series.
As far as I know, GT was made non canon.

Raditz was only in two episodes

Raditz was the single biggest waste of potential the series ever had, and that's saying quite a bit. Vegeta, some random guy Goku's never met before, gets a free pass and can come back as the deuteragonist later on, but Goku's own brother gets killed off in the first few episodes and is never seen again.

What the fuck Toriyama.
Toriyama planned for Vegeta to die and stay dead but fans loved him so much he changed his mind.

>Christians: Handout Bible
>Satanists/Atheists: Handout book directed at malleable children's minds and depict the Bible as a rapist

Seems legit.

Well hey, the Bible tells stories of men having to marry off their raped daughters,  has tons of violence and war, and depicts an angry and vengeful God before the Jesus chapters.

then there's Leviticus, the biggest contradiction Christians happily gloss over.
In their defence, most Christian denominations hold steady to disregarding the OT, which Leviticus was a part of.

We don't disregard Leviticus OR the Old testament.
It's simply that Jesus made many of the rituals and laws in the Old Testament null and void.
The fact god ever okayed killing for those reasons contradicts a loving a caring god.

Quote
We don't sacrifice lambs on altars to cleanse us of our sins, because Christ was the "sacrificial lamb of God" who gave us a way to be cleansed of our sin.
Human sacrifice isn't moral nor did I ask him to sacrifice himself.

2 things to realize:

1) God is loving

2) God is righteous
Unless you were gay, a witch, an idolater, a mouthy kid, didn't observe the sabbath, said his name in vain, or did some other trivial deeds, then his love quickly diminished.

Quote
God planned to redeem the world through Jesus Christ. He would come from Israel, and the line of David.
If Israel were destroyed, taken over, or joined a different tribe, Christ would never have come to be.
Preachy babble.

Quote
So all those rules and guidelines in the OT were to keep His plan for Israel, and for redeeming the world on track.
To keep Israel separate from other tribes, faithful to Him, and safe from invaders.
Refer to first point.

Quote
Human sacrifice? This wasn't any man. This was the Son of God, who CHOSE to die for humanity's sins. He could have refused, said no, at any time. But He went through it all willingly.
In god's infinite wisdom the only way he could come up with to forgive people was to sacrifice his son?  That sounds terrible. There is nothing noble or moral about being a human scape goat.

Quote
You didn't ask Christ to die for you, nor did I. But you know what Jesus did? He gave us the option of choosing Heaven or not.
hmmm forever being a tyrant's yes man or eternity in hell fire, what excellent choices.  I'd prefer secret option C, dying and that being that.

In the Bible the old law was in place to ensure God's plan would come to be, without those laws, supposedly Israel would never have been able to last as it did to be God's kingdom. I'm sure you're thinking, "Really, not eating shellfish was necessary for the messiah to happen?", but yes, and while not all the reasons might be straightforward today we can still try to understand what they were there for.

Stoning homosexuals, burning witches, setting up rules for slavery, forbiding bad thoughts or mention of other gods, and more, were necessary for god's plan?  I want nothing of it.
Quote
Martyrdom isn't moral? First time I've heard that.
Inherently it's not.

I think it's all neat and all, I just wish they added a transparency slider.
Or just add a blank page on the dashboard to scroll to to see your background.
That'd actually be pretty cool, kinda like a screensaver/slideshow thing going on.
Yeah, just press an unused button or button combo on the dashboard and it clears it except for the back ground, like a screen saver.
I'm going to suggest this in the preview forums if you're okay with that.
Yeah go ahead man, that's cool, not like you need my permission though.

I can't believe people on this forum want to live in a society where anyone can buy and wield military-grade weaponry. Fucking ridiculous and selfish.
We already do, except for criminals and poor people.

You're hanging out at the mall with your mom/sister/girlfriend, and I walk up to her and call her a dick-gargling whore. Do you respond by kindly thanking me for using my right to express myself?

Unless you're insecure about it I don't see the reason to, especially since you'd probably go to jail and potentially lose your job and strain your relationship.  Now harassment or bullying, that would result in a response but not public.

Ehhhh last video the guy had no idea what he was talking about.

1587
I'm just sitting here laughing at all the people who respect this guy because of his publicity stunts.

I respect him more for his work with the poor before (and still during) being named Pope.

You know, actually helping.
What has he actually done, though? The rhetoric is different but the policies are the same, no?

Pope Francis did a ton to directly help those in poverty prior to being pope. Since he's become the head of the Church and is constantly under security, it's not reasonable to expect him to directly do so. He has made moves to try and help the poor still, and have lived a much more modest lifestyle than his predecessors.
If god has a plan for him, he shouldn't have security.

Neither should the President.
The president isn't the head of his church.

There's nothing inherently virtuous about being a human, and thus nothing to be lost by acting in the way that you so describe. This actually ties in quite nicely with the determinism discussion we were having a few threads over; it actually helps me understand and cope with the things you list.

We're apes. Hairless, violent apes--with nukes, no less. But, in saying that, we're still intelligent. It's not at all surprising that some people have really fucked value-systems, I mean, we're only just stumbling out of the dark ages. I don't feel animosity towards people for being stupid--not in the long-term anyway--because we are a stupid species. All species are.
Heh. You just called us intelligent and stupid in the same paragraph.

I'd opt for the word "sapient". It's in our binomial nomenclature.
Well we have the potential to be extremely intelligent, but most people don't care or are too caught up in the rat race to actually develop themselves in any meaningful way.
