So now that Turkey has finally entered Syria, what do you think this might mean for the civil war?

The Flood / Great deals
« on: January 13, 2016, 07:00:42 PM »
What is the best deal you have come across and taken advantage off?

For me it was the ski day pass for only $0.90 CAD. For a ski hill in Banff called Norquay. The cost to ski usually is way higher but with this deal on a Wednesday, I had to go.

Gaming / The Flood from Halo
« on: January 09, 2016, 01:47:59 AM »
Has anyone ever wondered why they have been absent from the game for some time. I mean it just feels like they up and disappeared. Like gone from the previous trilogy mainly due to the death of the gravemind . But still a proto-gravemind should exist somewhere like the one on the Mona Lisa.

Or at least one of the earlier installations should be housing them. Remember there were many research facilities made by the forerunners to study the Flood. Some of them must have had a breakout and there are still five more halos to deal with. Well four, what with a new Halo already being discovered by ONI.

So any though of the return of the Flood or are the gone for good?

And bonus, any chance of the prophets returning?

The Flood / Travelling Solo
« on: December 05, 2015, 07:23:10 PM »
So for the last two weeks have been in Korea travelling by myself. And must say it is amazing to fucking crash and meet random and new people.

Still drunk after a party last night and well at the airport with a flight to Singapore.

Stikl travelling alone although can be lonely it really can be fun if you are willing to go out there and meet people.

So have any of you guys travelled solo or have conducted a multi-country travel trip?

If yes how was it?

If no, got any plans to go travelling?

Serious / Crossroads between Civil Liberty and Good Governance
« on: December 01, 2015, 05:33:01 AM »
A topic that just arose in my head during a walk on the streets of Korea was the concepts of the opposing paths that civil liberty and good governance follow.

Civil Liberties are rights and freedoms that are granted to the individual and cannot be tampered with.  Including freedom of privacy religions and actions.

While governance is mostly about control and trying to Sheppard a group of people through safe paths in what is a treacherous environment.

Biggest issue to governance though is the unpredictability of the masses when freedom exists.  Which makes it harder to keep the flock from straying of course. After all everything is easier if everyone follows their set path.

But the want to make your subjects more predictable to help guide your flock is in direct contrast with civil Liberties which push for greater freedoms and a challenges the authorities control.  These actions although preferable can lead to harm not only to the individual but to the flock. Yet can also lead to more prosperous fields by chance arrival.

Yet there are exceptions where people give up their Liberties for the chance of safety in better governance. Whether it be fear of the population of an enemy or a group of followers willing to blindly follow their leader to wherever he leads them.

Still just a question to be raised how often does governance end up leading to a conflict with civil Liberties.

Have any of you wondered what would have been possible if certain dead civilizations were able to carry on to this day.

Instead of reinventing the wheel we may have been furthee in progress. So what do you think is the greates setback for humanity in terms of technological advancement.

Serious / Life Decisions
« on: November 19, 2015, 01:56:13 AM »
As you walk down a path you will likely come up with decisions to make.

Sooner or later a decision has to be made but what do you rely on to make your decision. Do you choose an option when you are faced with two options or wait till one door is close and take the remaining open door?

Do you let your emotions guide you or rational thought?

Or do you delay the decision till the last second and flip a coin?

Serious / What constitutes a living being.
« on: November 19, 2015, 01:48:59 AM »
I know this is a stupid question but I have to bring it up. Viruses are a good example of this as they move and act like organisms but they can shut down and be dead for months or year on end until a favourable circumstances comes across.

Like light photons which phase between matter and energy virsues and other smallwr beings phase between life and death. With machines slowly entering this discussion.

So what do you think defines life?

Original Piece

Quote
OTTAWA – Less than one week after guiding his party to a surprise majority in the federal election, Prime Minister-designate Justin Trudeau has already filed 35 million workplace harassment complaints against his employers, the people of Canada.

“Obviously this isn’t the way I envisioned starting a new job,” explained Trudeau, “But I can’t work like this. Everywhere I go, women keep calling me names like ‘The PMILF,’ telling me to smile more, and yelling things like “show us your abs!” This morning, Marc Garneau and Bill Blair had a 45-minute conversation about how fuckable I am.  In my office.  Right in front me.”

The Liberal leader went on to add that the problem is even worse online, where his social media feeds have been inundated with shirtless photos of him, invitations from constituents to “Netflix and chill,” as well as countless links to editorial pieces on what political insiders all agree is “a pretty stellar D”.

The harassment has become so pervasive, Trudeau notes, that’s it’s even spread beyond Canada’s borders.

“Angela Merkel drunk dialled me at 3am last night,” recounted the Papineau MP, “To tell me she’d rather sit on my face than on the UN Security Council.”

But while Trudeau sees himself as a victim, the government’s Chief Human Resources Officer places blame for the unwanted attention squarely on the taut, muscular shoulders Canada’s 29th Prime Minister.  In a statement released today, the CHRO claimed that Mr. Trudeau is “asking for it with those suits he wears.”

“The guy just spent two and half months travelling across the country, begging Canadians to let him show us what he can do,” the statement continued. “And then when we try to take him up on it, he complains.”

“Fuckin’ tease.”

That is what you get for voting a Prime Minister based on his looks.

The Flood / Longest Wait
« on: October 02, 2015, 01:27:03 PM »
Well three and a half hours at the ford dealership and waiting for someone to pick me up. I understand that it is a two hour ride to pick me up. After all site and camp is two hour north of the city. But this is getting ridiculous. But who gives a fuck, getting paid $28 an hour to sit and wait. Might as well do it.

So what is the longest wait you have to endure?

The Flood / Car fuck ups
« on: October 02, 2015, 10:32:26 AM »
So what is the biggest issue you have ever had to deal with a car?

For me it was this morning. Wake up 5 am and get in the truck at 6 am to drive to the next door camp to puck two workers and drive them to the airport.

Well the drive is 2 hours long from site to the city and the airport. While driving we noticed it was fucking up and just sounded like it was weak and dying. Hearing screeching and we ignored until we reached the airport.

Now I shit you not, upon arriving at the airport the guys got off to take their bags and the first thing they noticed was the smoke spewing out of the front passenger tire. Front right of the car for you people who live in the opposite world.

Not only was it smoking and smelled like oil or grease, you could visibly see the tire tilted inwards towards the truck.

Called office and told them the issue and I was told go to Ford dealership for repairs and on the way pick up coveralls, hard hats and stickers. Arrived and when they looked at it, they just looked and told me the car was fucked.

And here I am in the ford dealership, waiting for someone 2 hours away to pick me up with the coveralls and help me finish my part runs. Pick any parts the company mechanics need. Anyway heard it is the wheel bearing was fucked by Kaltire(guys who I was told to take to first). But the office says it is likely the ball joint. But not sure what to believe and would leave it for the Ford mechanics to figure it out.

So what is the worst fuck up your car has faced?

The Flood / 3 months of work later
« on: September 27, 2015, 10:24:15 PM »
I should have enough money to a) pay off my remaining school loan and b) go on a month long vacation to 3 different countries, and honestly my boss is okay with it.

Hell one of my coworkers who has been working for a couple months with us is going on a 4 month vacation around the same time I am.

Life feels good.
