I think that this idea would get rid of the "Reply" option but there is some merit to it anyway.
It's not like you have to get rid of anything, really. Just beefing up the quick reply button wouldn't necessarily mean that you need to remove the reply button altogether.
The quick reply button could have a few popular tools like the image embed, youtube embed, bold, italicize, underline, and spoiler buttons. All of the smileys as well as many of the lesser used tools could be absent in the quick reply area. That would mean that the normal reply button would be more of a "power" tool.
That's a good point actually.
Being able to put images in Quick Reply would help a lot.
I use the quick reply a lot and still post images and videos and spoilers.
It's just a case of remembering the very simple code.
i generally [ctrl+v] and hit "Preview" to put the code in. Still it would be easier to have the button there.
