Are medicinal drugs morally incorrect? and is your response an appeal to nature?are there any further questionsThis is about what I expected. You're just using the term in a way it's not normally considered.weakness = any imperfection, and because it's philosophically usefulFor someone who prides himself on being verbose you're really stuck on that word eh?people are weak in different waysWell no, my problem is that "weak" carries a negative connotation about the person themselves. You're lumping them in with people who use drugs for recreation. It's different for people with Parkinson's, who use it to function.you answered your own questionSo what about cannabis use to help with Parkinson's or Schizophrenia? Or SSRI's for depression?because you're admitting that something needs to be "corrected"i need medication so i can do whatHow would taking, say, a medication that corrects your seratonin levels make you "weak." 283

Or SSRI's for depression?because you're admitting that something needs to be "corrected"i need medication so i can do whatHow would taking, say, a medication that corrects your seratonin levels make you "weak." My point boils down to, those who suffer from physiological ailments are not mentally weak. Using your example, you said earlier neutral life without drugs is 0. Doing drugs is a -1. Returning to a life free of drugs is returning to neutral. However, you're calling people who were never at neutral to begin with, weak. This is hardly the same situation as the person who was once at 0 but chose to drop down a level. What's your definition of weak then and why is it so broad? 285

Now if you would quit being an asshole maybe people would tell you that without you having to demand it.except they won't because that's just not what people do Again, people make stupid decisions and dumb choices, it does not factor into my ability to empathize and attempt to help. Explain to me who would gain from belittling them. I doubt it. 300

Now if you would quit being an asshole maybe people would tell you that without you having to demand it.>comes offPeople do pat me on the back though. Not all the time, but when the subject comes up and I say my position generally they take a position of "Wow that's great!""Validate me!!!!! Wahhhhhh!!!""validate those who deserve to be validated" No, I have sympathy for people who made a choice they regret and it's more beneficial for everyone involved to provide support instead of ridiculing them. The fact you care so little for others and how willing you are to raise yourself above, calls into question if you have a modicum of empathy. |
