Not to sound like a broken record but this really does seem like a pointless endeavor.
like working out?
Not at all actually.

You're not enjoying this are you?
i'm enjoying it quite thoroughly, actually

nobody loves hating anime more than i do
Well nevermind then, if you're happy then it's less pointless than I anticipated.

I think my favourite part was where the tribe of huge black dudes started unironically barking at the white guy so that he couldn't speak.

Unironically?

They were just fucking with him
I actually thought it was kind of crazy how that happened yet it didn't seem racist really. Like you could look at it like that, but it didn't feel that way given the movie's vibe and stuff.

The Flood / Re: "Meat is for Pussies"

I am trying to give up meat.

No beef or pork, but chicken is too hard to resist.

Just remember meat only taste good because of the seasoning/curing it goes through post-harvest. If you repeat the same process with something like tofu it tastes excellent as well. There's nothing inherently good tasting about animal carcass.
I eat everything raw. i.e unseasoned. I let the food add flavour to itself.

Unless you're buying all of your meat directly from the guy who killed the cow, it's been flavoured already. Why do you think it tastes so good?
if this is flavoured, then holy shit what does it takes like raw?

Chicken on its own is literally chewy rubber.

Yeah, violently butchered creatures taste bad. Who would have thought?
What're you trying to imitate Verbatim for? Everything you find good-tasting has a reason for tasting so good. If animals tasted like crap, there'd be no reason for traditional families' menus to be so reliant on meat. It's on the menu because it tastes good because it provides a lot of nutrients.
we wouldn't have to cook meat first if it didn't taste like shit basally
but carpaccio is delicious
there are people who eat shit

there are people who eat shit, puke it up, and then eat it up again

and they enjoy it

this is why "taste" arguments are a complete waste of time and shouldn't be a factor in these discussions

it doesn't mean anything to enjoy or not enjoy something, nobody cares
And I made my point by stating that these people have a mental disorder.

Raw meat is tasty and healthy. Should we stop killing so many animals just for food? Probably yeah, but don't make these dumb arguments about how it isn't healthy or that it tastes bad etc.
i would describe enjoying raw meat as a mental disorder
But you'd be wrong, and it's just you making an emotional argument. If you want to make an emotional argument, stick to the fact that killing animals for food is shitty. Don't make these lame arguments.
neither of those are emotional arguments

they can be expressed emotionally, but that doesn't make them an emotional argument

you've always struggled with this
Ok so show me your degree in psychology and how you came to the conclusion that eating raw meat is a mental disorder. Something humans and animals have been doing since he beginning of time, until recently where we discovered fire and found out it made meat taste better and last longer.
why do i need a psychology degree to say eating raw meat and enjoying it is a mental disorder, but you don't need one to say that eating puke-shit and enjoying it is a mental disorder

i guess because we've been doing it since we were cavemen

and cavemen were brilliant

they're well-known for their high intelligence and had no mental problems whatsoever
Because the people who eat shit have something mentally wrong with them. That's a fact, you're not supposed eat poop. You are supposed to eat animals and plants.
restating the premise is not the same as supporting your argument
So you are supposed to eat poop?
in order for anyone to definitively say otherwise, according to you, i would need a degree in psychology
Not at all my slippery friend. To say eating raw meat is a mental disorder is to go against mountains of evidence that point to the contrary, so I'd like to see how you came to this outlandish conclusion.
i think you have as much evidence about shit-eaters as i do about raw meat-eaters

which is to say, nothing but anecdotes and personal experience

i've never met someone who enjoys eating raw meat that i wouldn't classify as having something wrong with them
So Italians all have something wrong with them?
most people have something wrong with them
yawn
you can't think of one culture in the world where you would say "yeah all these people are fucked"
Nope, and I don't see what that has to do with you classifying eating raw meat as a mental disorder.

In humans, coprophagia has been observed in individuals with mental illnesses
It's associated with Schizo of all things... that's interesting. I'll have to look into why that is.

One of the most beloved Toronto Maple Leafs alumni, Johnny Bower died recently and it had a bit more of an impact than I expected. I think it's just because he struck me as such a kind and honest man and I was really hoping he'd be alive to see the Leafs win their next championship as he was the goalie for the last one in 1967. He had such a love for the game and for the fans it was just sad to lose someone who had contributed so much and seemed like such a good person.

We cook meat because modern human stomachs don't have the necessary strong enzymes to break down raw meat like ancient humans did and animals do, we basically allow fire to break down these enzymes first beforehand. In an ironic twist, by cooking the meat you're stripping it of a lot of its nutritious properties in the first place, leaving it with very little of what it had before. So yeah.

It has to be big enough for me to be comfortable sleeping in it, and have my own quarters. So nothing small like starfighters, arwings, etc.
This basically. Just large enough to live comfortably in. Ideally with a really small fighter that can either be controlled remotely, be put on autopilot, or pilot myself.

The Flood / Re: How strongly do you feel emotions?
« on: February 09, 2018, 02:41:20 PM »
Pretty balanced honestly. Very specific things will have profound effects on my mental state but that's normal I feel like. On the whole I feel fine.

Interestingly I've actually gotten more emotional outwardly in the last couple years for stuff that's happy or good (certain scenes in movies, moments with family or loved ones) but I'd say that's a shift from under-emotional to about normal so all in all it's pretty balanced.

The level of dependency your putting on this one person is unhealthy. People come and go: such is life. When you finally get over it, you're going to wish you valued more time with people that actually matter, such as your sister.

I’m not one for ambiguity, I would have at least preferred to know where I went wrong so I don’t fuck it over next time.

@Jive: She even said that date was good and would go on a second. She canceled the second the day of and that’s when I noticed a shift.

@tblocks, khan, & flee: I know it’s damaging, but it’s better than bogging my other friends down and possibly losing them too over my problems.
You see yourself as more of a burden than they see you as. That's a fact.

What, so that you can walk away with some satisfaction? I can read you like a book, because you're so simple minded and I take pleasure in that. That's a positive trait you have for me, but the negatives aren't worth it.

If I wanted cheap satisfaction I’d just jack off and I wouldn’t have to wade through an insult to get it. I wanted to see if you were genuinely capable of listing one and not just being Verb 2.0.

I can read myself too. The fact that I'm saying all this means I care for you, but I don't like you.

This makes no sense.

I'm not sure how you can look at this situation and deduce this is the best course of action. I assume you think it'll offer sone kind of relief, but the fact you're making this decision consiouscly is strange.

i also play competitive games, if you don't understand why competitive games take energy, i'm not sure what to tell you
that you're being elitist and hating on the very things you're doing?

yeah

sorry buddy, I talk to people every day who are in platinum ranking shit like on League, and while I loathe that game, they're in far more competitive environments than you.
I play Rocket League on a daily basis competitively. Like top 5% in the world tier in Solo Duel... Sure it might be stressful to play at times, especially in tournaments but I love coming home after a long day and playing it. Like fuck, competitively playing Rocket League is one of my favorite things to do.
I also enjoy competitive Rocket League
What confuses me is the lack of energy or "mood" to play it. It's supposed to be fun, like that's supposed to be your free time fun activity, regardless if it's competitive or not.

YouTube

you have NEVER not wanted to play rocket league

you are in a constant state of wanting to play rocket league
How the hell did you get that from what I said?? And actually yeah, if my friends are up for it I'm generally always doen to play it unless I have an obligation or some other game I want to play more.
if you don't understand the concept of not being in the mood for something (which is what you said)

then that leads me to believe that you're always in the mood for it
I meant more I wasn't sure why a long day would cause that lack of a mood to do it. Usually a long day is what drives me to play something like Rocket League. It's a contrast to work

I stopped playing games competitively mostly a long time ago (like Halo 3 days after hitting Brigadier General on Lone Wolf) because I realized I was having far more stress than I was having fun on a game I enjoyed.
Well yeah, that makes sense then.
