Y'know, I never heard a saint talking about all the good they've done.

There are no saints. Everybody has baggage. Everybody has a bad side. The reason you've never heard them speak about it, is because they're a myth. A saint is not some holier than thou person. We are all flawed. But that doesn't change the fact people have the capability in them to do something special for others, even if it's small.
I'm not saying what he did wasn't good.  It's always nice to do something for other people.  But just like people don't like hearing about all the bad things in someone's life, doesn't mean people want to hear about all the good either.  You did something good?  Hey great! It feels nice to do something for others out of kindness, but don't go around looking for recognition and acceptance of what you did.  That's  petty.  Just know that what you did made someone happy and that should be good enough.

What's the point of being in a community where everything you share has you branded has someone who is conceited.

Somehow, everything I say gets completely turned around.

Maybe you are just an asshole?

Still confused.

Have I done something to you in the past? Or something?

Spoiler
You exist.

Seriously though, like did we ever get in an argument or something. Or do you genuinely dislike me simply because I am here

You post blog types threads about your emotions and shit.

Mirrors. Funny constructs, aren't they? But then, no. Asshole doesn't suit you. It's too, how do you say it? Too prestigous. I've bumped into assholes before. You're not one.

Tryhard suits you better.

In fact, I think I like Tryhard Love better. Aha! A new nickname!
Y'know, sinking to his level makes you just as bad.

The Flood / Re: Godzilla
« on: October 28, 2014, 07:06:23 PM »
I remember my mom took my brother and I to see the 1998 film when I was six. He cried because he was scared of it. Now people cry because how bad it was...

One of my friends cried out of fear in Jurassic Park 3.

On the other hand, I was ready to remove Jack Horner and Joe Johnston from existence.

Maybe if the CGI gets better (still outclassed by Jurassic Park)

You've phrased the rest of your comments in this thread as an opinion, so I'm fine with that. But this is pretty much undeniably wrong. JP's CGI is still remarkably good looking for a movie that's 21 years old, but it's not near Godzilla's. Not to mention most of the 14 minutes of dinosaur effects in the movie were animatronics.

Spoiler
I watch JP like every other day, I'd know. I can tell you without looking [don't read if you don't want your view of the movie to be tainted]: take a look at the T. Rex's limbs, or the end of its tail when it climbs out of the enclosure. Or hell look at the lighting when the Brachio first shows up. It's still unbelievably good for a film from 1993, but it's certainly not equivalent to a 160 million dollar picture of 2014.

Godzilla still looked like shit IMO.

Strongly disagreed! In fact the sense of visual grandeur [both with monster shots and without] is my favorite thing about the movie.

I didn't like all the jump cuts, dust, rain, darkness and vision obscuring in general. If Godzilla was shown in a better perspective and the focus was actually put on Godzilla and Muto as natural animals and not "visual grandeur" and large CGI destruction shots I would have liked it better.

Like the Gallimimus scene in Jurassic Park, bright and sunny, wide steady shots, the trex just runs out and you can just marvel at it. The way it moves, the way it hunts etc. It just feels more real.

Speaking of Godzilla, anybody else excited for Mothra, Ghidorah, and Rodan in the next film?

Maybe if the CGI gets better (still outclassed by Jurassic Park) and they show more monsters and reduce the amount of human drama or have good actors in the whole movie instead of killing them off and replacing them with Kick Ass.

I gotta ask, was this your first Godzilla movie?

Nope. Seen all of them.

My problem with this is that I've seen all of them. I don't need a them to rationalize a giant monster. Its a giant monster. That's it. Its nothing new. The sort of social commentary they made in the movie was nothing new either.

They bait and switched Bryan Cranston. Every scenario with Kick Ass was just a boring cliche and he was an attention whore.

I know Godzilla doesn't get a lot of screen time in other movies. But in the new one they did two cock block scenes that just pissed me off. The payoff for waiting at the end wasn't even good. The music wasnt memorable.

A guy in a suit is an actual physical thing so it can be shown in focus in a bright lighting. In the new one its all shit CGI so they need everything to be dark, dusty, and so out of focus you can never tell what's going on. (I hated Pacific Rim for that also).

So from that I get more Godzilla out of the old movies than the new ones even if Godzilla appears for the same amount of time.

The thing that bothers me most about religion [Christianity in particular] is that no success is my own. All of the years of practice, training, and experience don't make me good at what I do; God does. It's not the coaches and teammates; it's God. It's not the teachers, tutors, and professors; it's God.

No, motherfucker. I worked hard for this shit. This is mine. You can't take it away from me.
I think you simply don't realize how it works.
>God creates everything
>People use what God created to do things for themselves and others
>People achieve things with what they created
>Thank God for allowing it all to be possible

Nobody is saying you didn't earn anything, nobody is saying that you or your teachers and friends and family didn't do anything to make whatever was achieved possible. All it is, is that God made it possible for it all to happen.

Sorry, but this argument always bugs me.
See, that's the problem. If God created everything, I am forever indebted to him for something he didn't have a hand in. It seems no different than the mob requiring business owners to pay "protection" fees. A portion of the business's earnings go to the mob even though the mob did nothing to earn it.
Except God isn't going to cripple you for not giving thanks to him. It's a courtesy, a humble acknowledgement, not a bill to pay.
So we're going to ignore the punishment of hell?
But Max, god lets you into heaven if you say you're sorry.

Unless you killed yourself over being in a bad situation that you had no help in.
Then fuck you.
Wut

If you kill someone and go to confession, say 3 hail marys and two our fathers and repent that way - If my understanding of catholic doctrine is correct you are forgiven those sins and can get into heaven if you have your last rites read.

If you commit suicide, you go to hell (Also according to catholic doctrine) as it's considered a mortal sin. This fails to take into account that it's not free will that leads people to choose suicide (In most cases) but is either a combination of an inescapable situation or mental illness.

So if the catholics are right, what kind of god punishes the weak and the ill but forgives the wicked?

If God loves me then why did he make Ellen Page a Lesbian?

So does this mean I can have more than 10 crates on a map without having to use mods? GG 343i on doing something right for once. Even if you're still using ugly Halo 4 models.

I hope crates are easy to jump on. I hated Reach where it was almost impossible to jump on crates. That defeated their whole purpose as a scenery piece with a purpose.

I know. But I can't believe OP has the nerve to post this shit and expect us to care.

Why do you want people to be kind to you if you do nothing in return? Why don't you write my essay for me if I answer your survey?
