What makes you like anime?
I like the aesthetic of animation over live-action generally and I've essentially isolated my entertainment consumption to anime over time so it's essentially the only thing I actively watch anyway. I'd have to think more to give you a a more substantial answer about why I've isolated entertainment consumption to anime.
I assume since you have a picture of Baron you've seen or heard of Whisper of the Heart(?)

(and I totally feel you on if you hadn't seen Black Swan alredy it would be a more enjoyable experience) consideration of Perfect Blue, something I think it was I that recommended to you, would you consider expediting somewhere towards the top of your list what I consider to be one of my favorite animated films from before the new millennium?
Jin-Roh: the Wolf Brigade
quick summery from wikipedia The film follows Kazuki Fuse, a member of a special police unit during the alternate history 1950s Japanese riots. Failing to follow an order to execute a frightened young girl only to see her commit suicide by detonating an improvised explosive device before his very eyes, Kazuki is put on trial and sent back to the training camp for re-evaluation. Visiting the grave of the suicide, he meets Kei, the girl's sister, who doesn't hold Kazuki responsible for her demise. The film proceeds as the two develop a peculiar relationship.
Though I don't think the criticisms will be particularly interesting without explanation, I'm potentially interested in this too. Fellow Jin Roh fan reporting in.

TFA is the best Star Wars movie and this has only become more clear as the years go by.
The Last Jedi WILL be different from Empire--the purpose of TFA's echoing of ANH was to carefully dip our toes back into the Star Wars universe, taking care not to piss off any fanboys and introducing a new generation to the general concepts and themes that a classic Star Wars movie would offer. Which inadvertently pissed off fanboys in the end anyway, but it was still a very smart and respectable move, considering the sheer amount of >neurodevelopmental we're dealing with here.
Given that Abrams was replaced with an absolute nobody, I can't say that he'll just pull an amazing movie out of his ass. But I've been surprised before, and this teaser contained a lot of cool and interesting shots--so maybe it'll be great. I have no predictions on that front.
The fact that TFA just inexplicably gets so much hate now breaks me brain.
The new director isn't exactly a nobody, he did Looper, and from what ive heard it's a good movie.

he may not be my favorite rapper, but he pushes boundaries and sets benchmarks with every single album he puts out, and because of that, most people would argue that he's the most significant artist in hip hop right now--fuck kanye, fuck drake
Huh, I know nothing about rappers so this is news to me.
As a kid my older brother tried getting me into rap and I didn't much like him. By extension I kind of stayed away from rap. I don't really find it appealing because most of what people have shown me is a.) artists self-aggrandizing which falls into subcategories of: a.) Enumerating sexual encounters or b.) Talking about money and violence. I don't really care for these things in music. I have heard rap I like, but no artists have stood out to me yet.
These complaints are somewhat reminiscent of your gripes with anime, lol.Spoiler Also the lag in the game music thread is really bad on my surface so I won't bother, but I was going to say "no love for Fairy Queen?" and "I think my favorite rendition of the Great Fairy Fountain is from Twilight Princess."
