Yeah, I've seen that video, and I love it. I kinda forgot all about it, actually. It's nice to see that my concerns are shared.
I don't think the two combat systems are directly comparable like the video makes it seem, but that moment gave me pause and I questioned my experience. That's part of the reason I like DS. I can question it and hold it accountable all I want. The design ethos allows me to do that in every aspect of the game.

Trust me, I'm far from computer literate (Yu can vouch for that). I just find a set of images i like, try them out, and use the one that either works or the one I find another functional version of.

No, I think your point on this game's use of player time has merit. I think grinding is almost always a poor design choice from an engagement perspective. It's why I don't do mmos. They bore me to tears. Though I don't really like this video that much (deadlock kind of rubs me wrong) I think it brings up an interesting point at 8:00. It's an extension of Egoraptor's Sequilitis commentary on Ocarina's wait-styled combat. As someone who's playing through it for the first time, is this comparison a fair argument, do you think?

What type did you do?
Mindfulness meditation.
Did you do it from a resting position, or just whenever. The nice thing about mindfulness is you can do it whenever.

Pretty much the same but I also want a different hair style to go along with it, so I'm also nervous about that. Maybe I'll do it over the summer when I'll be holed up in my room or backpacking in the mountains.
i recently just buzzed all my hair off (well, "recently. it was at the end of september iirc) and i'm hoping it'll grow back to the point where i can pull something like this off
but with, you know, my colour hair (dirty blond)
Damn. I think I've had at least two haircuts since september. My hair can get pretty close to the hairstyle I imagine, but only when it isn't washed for a couple days. And I don't really let that happen would probably look something like this Since the guy in the photo has a similar face shape as me I think it would work.
