Halo 2 Legendary difficulty.

To be more precise, Outskirts in Legendary.

The nightmares...
I really didn't enjoy Cortana in H3 or Nightfall in Reach on Legendary :\

That game isn't beaten. It must be defeated.

Being fake has its future benefits.

The same as every other day.
Yup.
I am going to buy chocolate for myself, though.

All right, got tons of footage recorded. This is gonna take awhile to edit.

My commentary sucked balls, unfortunately, so I'm gonna try post-commentary instead.
Will be interesting to see the differences between live and post commentary.

Gaming / Re: What do you guys think of RNG as a mechanic in games?
« on: February 13, 2016, 08:42:22 PM »
Great in board games like D&D, it causes many memorable moments and fun gameplay. Not so great in video games, kills the competitive nature of the games.
i think the important difference is that the DM can moderate the difficulty of a situation to suit the party, whereas most games don't have comparable moderation tools.
I mean when rng is moderated for D&D it's only really semi-random, the DM is still the arbitrator of what really happens.

« on: February 13, 2016, 11:35:16 AM »
Yes it was.

Even some of the minigames in larger budget titles were sometimes more interesting than story elements.

Rollgoal from Twilight Princess is one of my favorite in-game minigames.
When I rented Alien Hominid I didn't even play through the story. I just used the minigame.

What are those simple games you play more than AAA titles?

I've find myself playing Agar.io more than Fallout 4
I think Fallout 4 is fine, but agar.io is legitimately more engaging.

I was also a fan of the bubble tanks flash game when I was younger.

325
Hmm...

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

That's the only game I need to prove my superior taste

If you dislike it, you're wrong about video games

Ok, all memes-aside, I'm being deathly serious here, can you please, PLEASE explain the appeal of this game? I just don't understand why people not only enjoy it (that's one thing) but think that it's actually good?
I've only watched a friend play it, but from what I've seen TW3 definitely has an abnormal awesome/second mentality in regards to the variety of things you're doing and how often those things change. I've only taken a small sampling of it, but even this alone warrants a closer inspection, I think.
It could be really damn engaging.

That being said, I've never liked being cast as someone else in an rpg, but I don't even know how much you can change geralt's personality through your actions.

What isn't appealing about it, do you think?

Subjectively I just don't like the art style, the setting, or the characters. The whole game just rubs me up the wrong way.
No issues there, preference is a fair point.
Quote
I understand that the game is objectively good, it has solid mechanics and I can respect that. But even putting my opinions to one side, I still wouldn't consider it to be anywhere near patrician standards
I guess it's appropriate to ask "what is patrician?" "what is plebeian?" in these circumstances. More specifically, what makes TW3 definitely not patrician, even before playing it?

It's nice how Fromsoft puts in all these little details despite how many people miss them. It shows how committed they are to world building.

Spoiler
Ash Lake is really the perfect example of this. I mean, it's hidden behind two illusory walls for Christ's sake. Unless someone's using internet references or their friends have spoiled it for them, who would have actually found it by themselves?
Yet, Fromsoft made the game area anyway, knowing that a lot of people would never even access the content.
It's a pretty ballsy design choice. Another reason I like Fromsoft, they're not afraid to take those risks.

I always wondered what the hell that was. Is it a slice of bread with a face?
I don't know where the bread is from, but I think the voice is from the movie Legend.
Saw it when I was a kid like once maybe. Never remembered what it was about.
You hear a voice when you look at that image? R u ok?
I'm only okay when satan tucks me in at night and reads me the bible.

You can be competitive in just about anything, huh?
That may be, but it's all an alternative way to getting power. The pure way is strength and violence, but such a person can easily be defeated by more people. If there was however one person that could take on a nation with fists alone, then that person would have all the power in the world.

That person would be who we all try to be.
So... we all have a repressed Hitler complex?
This is next level Freudian shit.
