EA really shit the bed on this one. They've had so long to include content, and they know what fans want from this, but they played it safe with the four big-hitter maps. Those maps better be goddamn spectacular. I'm not thrilled about weapon unlocks and what appears to be a focus on first-person.
Wait? There's not fucking class system?
Nobody said that. Not confirmed. So much misinformation in this thread... Calm down people.

Well, guess i'm not going to buy star wars games now.
EA, FUCK YOU AND YOUR SHIT COMPANY, THIS IS NOT A GARBAGE MONEY GRABING GAME, THIS IS STAR WARS, DON'T FUCK WITH THE STAR WARS COMMUNITY YOU GREEDY PEICE OF SHITS!
There will be more than eight maps at launch, add the free Force Awakens map pack in December, I'm guessing we'll get... What, around 11-15 maps including the map pack? 40 players is good. I don't need 64 people to have fun. I've had fantastic Battlefield games with 24 people, and that's Battlefield. I think the gameplay is going to be quite a bit different in some areas. No space is disappointing, but we can still engage in dogfights. Not the end of the world. The first Battlefront didn't have space battles, and it was a good game. I think you're drastically overreacting.

I have trouble getting super pumped for things now. The Force Awakens and Battlefront trailers left me emotionally drained.
Because Battlefront is confirmed shit?
I'm going to wait until it comes out before I let people who will always assume a game to be terrible and have a toxic attitude or rabid fanboys who will always assume something to be incredible tell me whether it will be good or not.
Am I excited? Yes. But I'm not putting my money on anything, or ruling out putting it down, before I make up my mind on my own.
Not going to let people who are relentlessly negative or those who are fanboys decide for me.
I don't always assume games will be terrible. Battlefront was one of the few games I was really looking forward to this year.
Didn't say you were. But I saw the thread where everybody's complaining and I saw a lot of hysteria and misinformation. For now, I am cautiously optimistic. There will be more than four maps, and the fourty-player limit doesn't bother me. I'm just not going to let fanboys or people who are flipping out decide for me.

Heroes and Villains. Yes.
Still not sure if want. Don't want to get instakilled and stomped by some dude with a Lightsaber spamming Force powers.
I'm curious as to whether it'll be OP or not, but seeing Boba Fett fly about and fire a rocket at a couple rebel scum was awesome.
Yeah good thing I always play Empire. But playing as infantry was my favorite part of Battlefront, you actually felt like a trooper in the army with a squad (some times) and you were pretty much expendable yet badass. Playing as a Hero just felt off to me.
I definitely agree, but I don't think that playing as a hero will be so common and constant as to disrupt that feeling to a significant extent.

ITT: overreactions and hysteria.
There are four planets, but more than four maps. Would I like more planets at launch? Absolutely. In December everyone gets the Jakku maps (2 maps, 1 planet) for free. Will there be paid dlc? Yeah, but I'm not going to let that ruin the game for me.
Space. Am I disappointed it's not in the game? Yes, but I'd still be satisfied with great planetary battles with TIE Fighters and X-Wkngs fighting in-atmosphere.
Heroes and Villains. Yes.
3rd person.
Split screen.
And the Battlefront games never had anything resembling a true campaign anyway. It was missions simply set in the multiplayer maps.
Never cared about the prequels anyway.

Interesting. I would disagree with Kylo being a wannabe Sith though. In the trailer he definitely seems to be exemplifying some sort of force ability. I think the reason why his lightsaber is so half assed is because the knowledge and ability to construct lightsabers was lost with Darth Vader and Luke, what with him being the last Jedi and all.
He's definitely a force user, but as he likely had no-one to train him he's not a true Sith.

Finn's got a lightsaber >.>
If minor script leak rumors are correct, Finn finds Luke's lightsaber (either on Tatooine or the aftermath of that Imperial assault in Luke's location) and returns it to Leia.
Apparently the desert planet's not Tatooine, it's "Jakku".

A big problem is that the rebels are apparently still a resistance group according to one of the plaques at the convention.
It's been like 40 years since the fall of the empire and they sti haven't formed a new republic.
We don't know that, perhaps they did, and the Galactic Civil War continued for a short while, but eventually ended when the weakened Empire splits up into factions. There is a period of tension-filled peace within the New Republic, who stand by as the Empire disintegrates and turns on itself. However, then Kylo Ren comes along, reunites it under the banner of the First Order, and overtakes the New Republic, which is then forced underground, becoming a resistance movement. I guess we'll know when the novel Star Wars: Aftermath and Marvel's Shattered Empire release.

Hopefully a competent imperial remnant faction comes in and steam rolls their asses.
You misunderstand. Again, all speculation, but my idea is there is no Imperial remnant; what was the Galactic Empire, but then split up into factions, has since been reunited under this banner of the First Order, but it's focus is now more centered on the Sith/Dark Side.

So I was right, perhaps we will see splinter groups of imperials?
I meam, in one of the artworks it shows the new Cape Stormtrooper leading First Order Stormtroopers, while Kylo is leading older looking Stormtrooper units.
Again, this is all speculation on my part. But as you know, in the EU the Empire disintegrated into a number of factions led by former Imperial Moffs, etc. who became warlords, utilizing their local fleets. My thought is, Kylo Ren reunited these factions, but this reunited Empire, the First Order, is different. It's more centered around the Sith, around reclaiming their legacy (physical artifacts, such as Vader's helmet) and reestablishing their rule.

I want to watch it but I hate the fact he uses a slingshot
He doesn't use it for long. He eventually gets what is essentially a combination lightsaber-stun gun.

I just can't take the stormtroopers seriously when they're all making that ridiculous anime cat smile face.
No one else sees this. Even when you post a cat for comparison no-one really sees it.
Maybe it is just me, but there's just way to much W where my mind expects juat a Λ
I definitely see where you're coming from, what with a slightly less menacing appearance, but I don't see the anime cat thing. I don't want to come off as rude, please don't misunderstand; I just don't see it.

Unless the leader of the First Order just wants to visit places Vader has in the past.
This is what really makes me think the First Order is very much centered around the Sith. I think this Kylo Ren guy may have reunited the various factions the Empire might split into in material set post-ROTJ, but is more focused on reconnecting with the Sith legacy and reestablishing them and their rule. As a result, the Empire has become somewhat theocratic, and Kylo Ren's, and by extension the Order's, goal is to recover Sith artifacts, such as Vader's helmet, and in their eyes reclaim their legacy. Also, seeing as the Sith were destroyed at the end of ROTJ, it's likely that Ren isn't a true Sith. This is evidenced by his more clumsily made looking lightsaber hilt as seen in the album, and thus it's more unstable-looking energy blade. Kylo Ren isn't a Sith, he's a wanna-be, a fake. I'd really like to see Kylo Ren misinterpret the events of ROTJ, thinking that Vader did in fact attempt to carry out his overthrow of Palpatine, but was somehow thwarted. Kylo Ren would idolize Vader, but would be overcome with rage when Luke reveals that Vader died Anakin Skywalker, and in fact destroyed the Sith.

But didn't the Super Star Destroyer crash into the Death Star? Or is that another one?
In the old EU there was more than one Executor class Super Star Destroyer. Perhaps they've brought that idea into canon. Personally I always liked the idea that each Super Star Destroyer was unique, and that because they were more limited in number they weren't as standardized. But, it doesn't matter.

Here's an album from Celebration Anaheim showing TFA costumes and props, such as new Stormtrooper armor varieties and Kylo Ren's lightsaber. As you can see, the remnants of, or the successor to, the Galactic Empire is known as the First Order. I'm getting an almost theocratic feel from the "First Order", which is further amplified by it's name. Take this screenshot for example: The number of robed figures in the background. The red banner with the First Order's insignia. I'm getting a sort of Sith theocracy vibe from all of this. It's difficult to explain. The presence of Vader's helmet, and Kylo Ren's rather clumsily made/more improvised looking lightsaber are what really makes me think the First Order is very much centered around the Sith. I think this Kylo Ren guy may have reunited the various factions the Empire might split into in the upcoming Shattered Empire comics and the Star Wars: Aftermath novel. Kylo Ren reunites these factions under the banner of the First Order. However, this First Order is quite different from the old Empire in some aspects, being more focused on reconnecting with the Sith legacy and reestablishing them and their rule. As a result, what was once the Galactic Empire has become somewhat theocratic; and Kylo Ren's, and by extension the Order's, goal is to recover Sith artifacts, such as Vader's helmet, and in their eyes reclaim the Sith legacy. Kylo Ren would idolize Vader, but would be overcome with rage when Luke reveals that Vader died Anakin Skywalker, and in fact destroyed the Sith. Also, one last thing of interest: So yeah, speculate as to the nature of this "First Order", and post-ROTJ events.

I don't see why people are complaining that the Imperial equipment and such is really shiny. The Empire was always pretty clean looking in comparison to everything else, it's what distinguishes them from a universe filled with worn and grimy equipment.

If that's the box art I'm disappointed.
Everyone knows that only a proud Imperial Stormtrooper is to be displayed.
Doesn't look like a box art to be honest. Too dark.
It fits the style of BC2, BF3, and BF4. Really I like it, but I just need a proud soldier of the Empire on the front.

Could be worse. We could get shitty generic walking towards/away from camera box art.
Yeah. I guess I though that the style of the original games' box art would fit perfectly with that of DICE.
