His suit is still pretty evidently shit.

Cumbersome.
Vital parts are easily damaged.
Loud.
Heavy.
Crappy prosthetic limbs.

How are his prosthetic limbs bad?
Have you seen Star Wars?
Give me an example of his limbs being bad.

probably for the best
I'm definitely in agreement. All of it comes across as trying way too hard to make Vader a tortured soul.

IRL movie limitations aside, why did Vader get such shit arms and legs, and a ridiculously restricting and cumbersome helmet and life support?

His mechanical limbs aren't bad, and his suit isn't all that cumbersome.

After the prequels came out, there was some stupid explanation that Vader was permanently in pain and the suit was designed to be shitty. Personally I always thought that was rather dumb, it was part of a phase immediately post RotS where they tried telling us everything in the OT was shit compared to the PT, thinking if they said it enough we'd believe it. "Oh, the Imperial Class destroyers are shit compared to the Venators"  "Vader's suit is really itchy and prevents him from seeing well" and so forth.

In the current canon his suit keeps him from being in pain, and Vader comes to justify his imprisonment in the suit; appreciating how it isolates him from others. This makes sense from both a practical and character perspective, at least in my eyes.

Heads up, the first issue of Marvel's Anakin and Obi-Wan series released yesterday I believe. Also, this coming Wednesday, the penultimate issue of the Vader Down arc, Star Wars #14, releases.
Am I able to share a site where you can view comics for free? It's not illegal, people donate to it.

I'd ask the mods, not me.

First off, they don't.
They aren't as drastically different as you're making out.

serious business

Even if Wingreen was a New Zealander too but was replaced by a guy that sounded exactly the same, I would be opposed to that too. He deserves credit for what he did.

We get it, you think Boba Fett is overrated and don't care that Wingreen was replaced. I respect and understand your opinion.

Reminder that the Clone backstory is shit and a prime example of a failed attempt at fanservice that managed to kill the mystery surrounding Boba Fett that made him cool in the first place.

Why does everybody give a shit about the redub?

The voice sounds almost exactly the same.

RIP the true voice of Boba Fett.
Hopefully Disney will release an updated version of the theatrical release someday and give him the credit he deserves.

Unfortunately I doubt it'll happen.

Disney/Lucasfilm hasn't even said anything about his passing, which irritates me greatly.

The re-dub is fine

Doesn't mean Wingreen deserves to be discarded
Okay. I never said he deserved that.
Fact is there was no reason to re-dub him; the change was entirely unnecessary.
Okay? I don't really care.

I didn't say you did care. I just stated my feelings on the matter.

Also Boba Fett is meme tier with how overrated he is

Overrated or not Wingreen deserves recognition for his contribution.
He's still credited even though he was re-dubbed

Nope. Jeremy Bulloch, the guy in the armor, was credited for ESB and RoTJ.

Fact is there was no reason to re-dub him; the change was entirely unnecessary.

His voice is just so cold and menacing compared to the overdub..."He's no good to me dead." A clone doesn't need to have the exact same voice as its surrogate, George. We're talking about a franchise with the mystical Force in it, after all.

RIP.

But don't you know, Roman? Accents are genetic.

But yeah, it's an insult to Wingreen that his contribution will basically never be heard by a viewer of the OT again.

Jason Wingreen, the original voice of Boba Fett, died today.

Wingreen's contribution has been all but erased the thanks to Lucas's revisionist Special Edition bullshit. Wingreen and his work, as small as it may have been, do not deserve to be dismissed and discarded, especially considering the popularity of the character and the superior nature of Wingreen's voice over in comparison to the Morrison re-recording.

Wingreen will always be the voice of Boba Fett to me.

Edit: he dies on Christmas day, but news just got out.

Episode VII seemed like a decent hybrid between flashy and practical.

Mostly flashy, but whatever. It's all entertaining to watch.

What I liked about the flashy moments of the duel in VII is that they were deliberate on the part of Kylo Ren; he was purposefully adding a needless flourish to his fighting style in order to intimidate Finn, showcasing his arrogance.

I liked the slower paced style of the original trilogy, and even Episode VII more than the flashy style of the prequels

Episode VII especially
Agreed.

The duels in the prequels were pretty good though. One of the things they did well.

Too needlessly flashy and acrobatic for my tastes, but I can understand why people like them. I will say the duel in TPM is definitely the least silly, at least in my opinion. I personally would have made Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon's fighting style more reserved and similar to the OT, and had Maul be the super acrobatic and "jump-y" character, in order to make him more unique and avoid making all force users superpowered space ninjas who defy gravity.

Still a better duel than anything in the OT (except RotJ).

Sure, Verb.
