Otto von Bismarck has some great ones.
"A single spark will set off an explosion that will consume us all … I cannot tell you when that explosion will occur, but I can tell you where … Some damned foolish thing in the Balkans will set it off."
"It is not by speeches and majority vote that the great questions of our time will be decided — as that was error of 1848 and 1849 — but rather by iron and blood."
"A statesman cannot create anything himself. He must wait and listen until he hears the steps of God sounding through events; then leap up and grasp the hem of his garment."

Shit like this is the reason why kids these days are going to grow up being easily offended.
Thanks a lot parents.
I can understand their outrage. The film is extremely graphic.
Picture the following scenario:
It's late afternoon on Easter Sunday at a family gathering. Most of the festivities have ended; the parents are winding down and talking amongst themselves, and have called the children inside, seeing as they're too tired to watch them play outside. To keep the children occupied, they tell them to turn on the television and watch something; there's probably a children's Easter special airing at the moment. The children turn on the television, and are greeted by extremely graphic and disturbing scenes portraying rabbits being slaughtered in extremely gruesome ways. These children, who could be of any age, are of course scared by this. That's why parents are angry, it's not a case of people being overly-sensitive, at least not in my opinion.
WATERSHIP DOWN IS NOT FOR KIDS
Jesus Christ, any parent who shows their kid this movie is a bigger retard than parents who let their kids play GTA.
Well yeah. That's why I think it's very understandable parents are upset.
It's understandable that parents knowingly let their kids watch an adult movie, and then get mad when it has adult content?
It's an animated film, they probably didn't know it was a film for adults They would know when there children started crying or something because of the content.
That's on the parents 100%. You don't show your kid something unless you know what it is, anything else is pure laziness. This is no different then letting your kid watch Family Guy because "all cartoons are for kids lol"
Yeah but it's easy to distinguish between programs like Family Guy and Scooby Doo or something. At first glance, Watership Down doesn't look like an adult film. It has a similar art style and general look to The Secret of Nim. Only when the program gets to gory sections would you know it's an adult film, otherwise it's rather innocuous.

Obi Wan should have ended that thing's life instead of just chopping off his hand
Oh but wait, that would make him a murderer. Pfft what was I even thinking.
He actually killed this guy, but cut off the hand of his Aqualish friend.

I guess I enjoyed season 1. Really liked Kingpin.
Started season 2, on the 3rd episode now.
I find Karen Page really attractive
She got a lot prettier when she dyed her eyebrows a darker color a coupem episodes into S2. Before that they were really light and weird looking.

Ah, that makes sense. BCS is definitely more of a slow burn that Breaking Bad, but it's so good.
I like how it has maintained the "dramedy" tone that BB season 1 had, while still delivering legitimate dramatic punches.

On a serious note, the best Batman movie is Mask of The Phantasm.

Du.
Du Hast.
Du Hast Mich.
Eh, those lyrics aren't that edgy.
Ich tu' dir weh. Tut mir nicht Leid! Das tut dir gut. Hör wie es schreit!
OK, now that song is.

I'm so sorry Sandtrap. I'm praying for you, man. I understand that perhaps you or others might not appreciate me saying this, or think it sounds pretentious on my part, and if so I'm sorry. I just don't know what else to say. I hope for the best.

1 - background checks; ensure no terrorist connections and that they're from Syria/other war torn areas, 2 - prioritize women and children; pretty sure around 76% of the migrants are males in their twenties (which is to say that many are econ. migrants, not refugees). 3 - Separate religious groups from one another. Everyone threw a hissy fit when (IIRC) Slovakia stated they would only take in Christians. I say let them. This way, we avoid violence breaking out between religious groups contained in the same area. 4 - when situation is resolved, go home. 5 - have neighboring Muslim countries take in Muslim immigrants If the above measures are implemented I'd be perfectly fine with taking in refugees, as these measures would help ensure that we're receiving refugees, and not econ. migrants.

I think Snyder makes what he thinks are good scenes instead of making a good movie
Every scene in 3OO and Watchmen look beautiful but those movies as a whole don't really work
From what I've heard, in the Watchmen director's commentary his justification for basically every creative decision is "it looked cool".

I guess it's important to note that this person is in her early thirties and already has a son. Still, it feels weird talking to her.

Couple days ago, someone I consider myself somewhat close to told me she was pregnant. Since then it's felt really weird interacting with her. Does anyone else feel somewhat uncomfortable or awkward when friends/acquaintances become pregnant?

Door, I'm curious as to why you have chosen Orthodoxy over other denominations? The Orthodox notion of Theosis first and foremost. It is desirable to me and I find it more practically and theologically impressive than the idea of Christianity as a way to get into eternal fun and hedonism land in the sky. The idea of Christianity as a path to get closer to God is extremely appealing to me personally, as a way to both fulfill AND transcend my egoistic and self-serving nature. By seeking salvation and closeness to God, I am able to act in my self-interest while also working toward escaping and transcending my inherently self-serving and sinful nature. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theosis_%28Eastern_Orthodox_theology%29
Aside from that, I find the worship style much more spiritually uplifting and engaging than the sermons and praise bands I grew up on. The saturday night Vespers services in particular always make my heart sing.
From a practical standpoint, I find the use of iconography and veneration of saints helpful. It helps add a kind of "system" or structure to my faith, and I often look to the stories of saints for inspiration. When you worship in an Orthodox church, you are surrounded not only by your fellow Christians on earth, but by all of the saints and angels there have ever been.
I also respect the Orthodox Church's claims to legitimacy, although I am more skeptical about it than most converts probably are. I am also very supportive of the use of tradition (big T and small t tradition) as a guide when interpreting and practicing Christianity.
I myself am in denominational limbo; I have been looking at the teachings of different denominations and trying to decide which best fits.
Consider Orthodoxy. Visit an Orthodox service (vespers is probably better than liturgy, if you like a smaller and more simple service. Liturgy is usually bigger, more grand and crowded). I'm not going to tell you it's the best kind of Christianity and you're dumb for not joining, that's really up to God to say, but it is definitely worth a try.
Alright, thanks! I'm definitely going to look into Orthodoxy more; I much prefer more traditional services and so forth.
