There is some actually good and informative discussion regarding military history, tactics, and so forth on /k/. There's also... this, though.

"and yes, Hermione officially kept her last name"

This is dumb, why couldn't it have been Hermione Granger Weasley like her daughter? My grandmother kept her last name when she remarried, simply adding "Rowe" to the end.

You know what? Forget it. We didn't need to know in the fucking first place if she kept her last name.

Have I woken up in some parallel universe or something

Honestly the only way I see Marvel recovering from this is if they revealed that all of these comics occurred in a parallel SJW-verse

I genuinely can't tell if these are edits or real.

They're real. I'm not even upset, I'm dying right now. I knew it was bad, but I didn't know just how bad it was.
Even the

[UNSOLICITED OPINIONS ON ISRAEL???] one?

https://archive.is/JUtWY

I think so. I wasn't sure about that one either, but seeing some of the content they've released I wouldn't be surprised.

Got around 2/3 of the way through Far Harbor. I'm taking a break until the performance patch for PS4 is released (yeah yeah ">playing Fallout on console" I know)

In the mean time, I got Automotron, and I enjoyed it more than I expected. Creating robots is fun, but it does absolutely drain your resources (I am now on an eternal quest in search of aluminum). I like ADA, she's a rather saddening character, given the way she sounds when she asks of she can come with you. She seems very lonely and driven to impress her masters.

I built Jezebel the most ungainly, awful body ever. I gave her a sentry bot body with Protection arms and legs.

I made a Robobrain and I named him "Brainbot". Not too creative, but I was bored.
Mahkra fishpacking north-east of the map has something like 50 aluminium trays
Thanks!

Some scans from a recent Capt. America series

Now, I'm not saying that strong female characters are bad, or that domestic violence isn't horrible, but fuck Marvel, do all of your comics have to be about this? Why does the staff of Marvel comics feel that they must insert ham-fisted social commentary into every series they have?

Edit: fucking lol, the female Thor comic everybody

MHGA

See, knowing the socio-political leanings of many of the Marvel writers, they absolutely intended this speech to convey Red Skull as a monster, but he's not wrong in the case of Europe. It's possible to be tolerant and kind to others whilst not allowing yourselves to be taken advantage of.

The Marvel writers, in particular Jason Aaron, are extremely obnoxious and ham-fisted regarding socio-political implications. Here's a gem from the most recent issue of Jason Aaron's Star Wars comic. This panel is after Leia (who is supposed to be 5'1") beat a trained special operative in hand to hand combat whilst making a speech that the ever-so-subtle writer surreptitiously laced with real-world social commentary.

Man, nothing makes me feel more immersed in a galaxy far, far away than groan-inducing social commentary! If there's any reason that I read and watch Star Wars content, it's to be reminded of contemporary social issues!

I guess Leia wasn't "empowered" enough for Jason Aaron, as she never made awful speeches or punched people! Forget all that stuff about being a leader extremely dedicated to her cause, being headstrong and not being afraid to get her hands dirty (garbage chute on the Death Star), and being handy with a blaster! If Leia's going to be an empowered womyn she needs to best a big bad man in a fist fight rather than by using her brains to win, or doing something else that's in-character for Leia.

And in however many issues this change (if it ends up being for real) will be undone.

Comic books are all about the "illusion of change", hence grand events like Crisis on Infinite Earths, and so forth. Every few years all events and character arcs will be reset, and we'll be back to good old Steve Rogers fighting Nazis, and Peter Parker in his Aunts house.

Crisis did change a lot of stuff, though. And everyone hated OMD.

You're right about Captain Stevemerica, though. Nobody seriously expected Old Man Rogers to last.
Sorry, I don't know too much about Crisis. I just see those big universe-spanning events as a way of resetting every major character to somewhere resembling square one.

Damn. This is hard. I definitely would kill someone relating to WW1 and it's causes, but the issue is the many causes of that war.

Killing Ferdinand's assassin woildn't really do anything in the long term; Ferdinand's death was just the spark that lit a great deal of pre-existing gunpowder.

Honestly, as a massive fan of the German Empire, I'd kill Kaiser Wilhelm II. His foolish, emotionally charged decisions undid everything Bismarck worked for, and helped bring about the division of national powers seen in WWI. Without his poor choices, Germany might have had more cordial relations with Britain in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

How on earth is Door retarded now? He strikes me as generally cordial and intelligent based on his posts.

Is this literally just "he's not an atheist therefore he must be dumb"?

Same goes for mine when I play DOOM.

Single Player is awesome. The game is wonderfully over-the-top. The lore in the game is actually pretty cool, it's sort of like Dark Souls lore in that you have to piece things together. Doomguy's new backstory is awesome, it's basically what you would get if you asked a twelve year old to come up with the most metal and badass backstory he could think of. Gameplay is amazing and intense. I highly recommend playing on Ultra-Violence difficulty, as Hurt Me Plenty can be a bit easy at times.

It's worth it for the single player alone. MP isn't bad, I just wish it was all pickups rather than loadouts.

But really, what do you expect from the guys who published this article?
