Don't immediately make sexual advances towards her, as you seem to tend to do. Be nice, act friendly, talk about things that are fun and interesting.

Don't try to interact with her physically, that also seems to end up being your downfall. Don't be clingy in your texts with her. Don't talk about how you want to fucking cuddle or some cringy shit like that.

See her as a person, as a friend to be made. Not as a pair of tits.

Contemporary culture has been covered in a sickening coating of carnality, in which sexuality is the only focus in relations between men and women. Don't let the movies influence how you see women, or how you interact with them. Don't let contemporary culture trick you into doing something wrong or stupid.

Ignore the damage to your genitalia. You're not going to be meeting her to find someone to fuck. You're meeting her to find someone who you get along well with, and who makes you happy. Friendship. Friendship is the biggest part of romantic relationships, not just platonic ones. Contemporary culture tells us it's only about sexuality, that sexual intercourse is the only thing worth pursuing. This is wrong. Don't let something that could be potentially good for you be ruined. You want to prove everybody here wrong, and have this work out? Then don't make the dumb choices you seem to make every time.

I would attribute it to trying to appeal to the US audience (hence why we're seeing a French DLC rather than an American one). Also, the game is apparently set in 1918, explaining why Russia isn't present (Russia withdrew in 1917 because of the Communist Revolution).
The maps set in France are based on battles that primarily involved the British.

Honestly, I don't care. I enjoy BF a lot, I'm excited for the new game, and people who didn't see this coming are kidding themselves. We already have a lot of factions (compared to the usual U.S. vs. China vs. Russia).
It's not set in 1918 because it's not just people sitting in trenches forever on the Western Front. It's taking place around the start of it. At least on some of the maps. Russia just isn't involved in the game so far.

True. I would guess the Eastern European front will be DLC as well. Perhaps we'll get a Serbian faction as well as the Russian faction (although Serbia would be a stretch).

It's called WORLD WAR 1.

Yet we only have certain major parts of the war to play with.

Lol
You mean like any World War 2 game ever? They didn't cover every single battle around the globe in one entry of a game.

Wuts wrong witchu?

Well, people like to complain and overreact, you see.

For those who would accuse me of shilling: If you didn't expect DLC in a battlefield game then you're being unrealistic. There's nothing to indicate that we won't see the same general amount of content that comes with a Battlefield game at launch. Battlefield generally releases with around 10 maps at launch, and I think six factions is better than it could have been (they could have simplified it to Germans vs. British or Americans. I'm surprised they even included Austria-Hungary and Italy. Do I necessarily support making France DLC? No, but I'm not too bothered by it.

Bismark was a political genius who managed to stiff-arm the French, ally Germany to Austria-Hungary and Russia despite the disdain for Unification throughout Europe, and maintained peace with the foghorns.

Heil the Iron Chancellor, fuck Wilbitch II for fucking up realpolitik. If it wasn't for him, Germany wouldn't have had a two-front war in WWI.

This guy gets it. Bismarck is my favorite European statesman in all of history.

People said that Second Assault should have been in the launch of BF4, people said the same about China Rising because it was free if you pre-ordered.

6 Factions is still twice as many as the BF4 and three times as many as BF3, so I'm not surprised they are using other factions as DLC rather than including all 11 or so at launch.

My only raised eyebrow is why they chose to make the frogs DLC rather than the Italians or the knock-off krauts austrians.

Bongs, Krauts, Austrians, Italians, Kebabs and Yanks is still a pretty good lineup

I really hope for the Austro-Hungarian Empire they don't go the easy route and have them only speak standard German. The Empire was highly multi-ethnic (hence why it was weakening by the time of WW1: Nationalism), and I hope that is represented in the game by having the Austro-Hungarian soldiers speak a variety of languages. I want to hear an Austrian German dialect (not contemporary standard German Hochdeutsch), Hungarian, Czech, and so forth. That would help to make the Austro-Hungarian Empire feel distinct from the German Empire.

neato

Thanks!

I'm planning on purchasing an Ikea Detolf display cabinet so I don't have to dust off my figures constantly. I have a spare set of Ikea Dioder multi-colored LED strips, and was planning on arranging them similarly to how one guy arranged his (although on a fabriktor cabinet, not a detolf):
Spoiler

The lightsabers in the picture are custom made by a guy for about $70 each. They use cold cathode tubes, and are very bright. You just send him the hilt you want to use, and later he'll send you a Cathode Tube Saber with it's own power supply and everything, all you have to do is plug it in. I'm seriously considering sending in my SSC Vader's hilt, as I still want to hang my HT Vader's hilt on his belt and stuff. It wouldn't been screen accurate, as I would have an ANH Vader holding an RoTJ saber, but from a distance it wouldn't be noticeable, especially if his hand was grasping the hilt at a higher position.

That's a pretty awesome figure, but it can't possibly compare with the Imperial Gunner. They should make a figure of him too, that way the Imperial Gunner can out-trump it even more.

Very true. Honestly, I think that it's likely that the Imperial Gunner is the true mastermind behind the Empire, and even the First Order, acting as the puppeteer for both Palpatine and Snoke.

He lurks in the shadows, wielding the dark power of his dreaded calculator...

The Dark Lord has arrived...

Some will remember that I already had a 1/6 scale Vader, the Sideshow Collectibles RoTJ Vader figure, and might ask "why get another one?". I purchased the Hot Toys Vader after seeing just how incredible the Hot Toys ANH Vader was in comparison to the SSC Vader. There are several differences between Vader's ANH and ESB/RoTJ costumes, most notably the placement of the robes over the upper chest armor in ANH, the widow's peak dome, and so forth. In general, the ANH Vader has a much more "rough" appearance. Ultimately, I like how Vader looks in ESB more, but Hot Toys' ANH Vader looked so much better than Sideshow's ESB/RoTJ Vader that I had to get the Hot Toys Vader.

Here's the SSC Vader (my old Vader).

Here's the Hot Toys Vader (my new Vader).
These aren't my photos, my camera isn't that good.

Here he is with the Hot Toys Luke and Leia.

Just about every little detail of the A New Hope costume - the asymmetrical mask and dome, the unpainted right "tusk", the horizontal brush strokes on the left "cheek", and the speckling of the pain on the right - has been replicated in 1/6 scale.

He also comes with:
An Interrogation Droid

A light-up Lightsaber and belt boxes

Finally, here are some photos I took:

It isn't a perfect figure; I don't like how they designed the gloves and hands. they tried to preserve hand articulation  by having hands separate from the slip-on "gloves" on the forearm, with velcro on the back of the hands and the inside of the "gloves" to try and imitate the appearance of actual gloves. It doesn't work well. Furthermore, the figure's robes flare out a bit too much, and the cape, while having a wonderful natural drape, is a bit too long. These are minor complaints, however, and I am immensely satisfied with my new Darth Vader.

The previous figure I had was but a pale imitation of Lord Vader, an inferior dopplegänger. The Hot Toys figure, however, is truly Darth Vader, Dark Lord of The Sith, Supreme Commander of The Imperial Fleet, and right hand of the Emperor, in 1/6 scale.

How so? Forgive me for my ignorance, but what are you referring to?

It's commonplace in my church to have simplified marriages. Meaning, if the girl's cute and a good Christian, you ask her father to date her which eventually ends up becoming a marriage. Very old-fashioned.

My folks don't belong to this church though so I get to make all the decisions for myself. Very liberating.

I see. Well, I suppose that simplifies things to an extent.

Yeah, that's another thing; the addition of the factor of religious faith would make finding someone compatible even more difficult.

The brethren church takes care of that for me, haha.

Yeah I'm gonna go with its the parents fault for being there with their two year old in the first place. I'm also pissed that they killed five alligators in the process just to find the body.

I like alligators/reptiles in general but I'm cool with it. They've gotta find the body, and the species isn't endangered anymore anyway.

As it stands, I don't think it would end well if I got married. I am a rather controlling person, don't like to go out much (aside from movies), and thus I don't think I would be a very good father or husband. Then again, I guess my fears are primarily because of my disposition, me being an introverted and not outdoors-y individual, and because of my parent's recent divorce.

I guess it's too early to tell.

shit country

Yeah, Prussia was much cooler. Shame it no longer exists.

When the Second Reich (and thus the Kingdom of Prussia) died in 1918, Germany died. All that's left is an empty husk of a nation. This saddens me to no end.

An Imperial German Reichskriegsflagge hangs on my wall in remembrance of Germany's lost glory.

May this be a tremendous blow to the decrepit halls of globalism, beginning the deterioration of its wretched foundation! May the cultural distinctiveness of the various European cultures thrive upon being liberated from the oppressive, corrupting grip of the EU!

What side would Doomguy choose?

Definitely Team Cap. I think Doomguy would relate a lot more with Cap and his goals/ideology/personality. Doomguy wouldn't let anything get between him and completing his mission, UN or otherwise.

I actually got pretty sad watching the Fallout stuff.
Yeaaaah I feel like Fallout 4 as a whole has been a huge middle finger to Fallout and the fans. Bethesda saying fuck you to previously established lore, fuck you to Interplay, fuck you to Obsidian, fuck you to fans of the series.
i love how dramatic fallout fans get with this shit

calling the game a "middle finger" or a "fuck you" to anything or anybody makes your personal disappointment sound like something intentional by the developers--and i can 300% guarantee you that that's not the case

maybe even 500%, because that's how ridiculously obvious it is
Of course I'm exaggerating. But I can't say I'm not incredibly disappointed with how Bethesda has handled Fallout.

Fedorekd's reply to me states what I was trying to convey, but without the hyperbole.

Nuka World as a concept doesn't even interest me. It doesn't even seem to involve interesting factions, just generic raiders who have taken over an amusement park. I would've preferred something relating to, well, anything else really. I don't see it adding to the lore (what's left of it, anyway) or adding any interesting characters or factions.

All I wanted was a DOOM single player expansion. I just wanted more of the violent adventures of Doomguy...

Here's hoping they make one. The multiplayer for the game is rather meh.
