Admit it, you just hate his name.

I don't hate his name, I just find it funny to deliberately spell it incorrectly.

I think that people really like him as Sherlock Holmes and because of that show's popularity he gets cast in roles that either don't fit him (Khan) or just entail him playing the same character he does in much of his work.

Have the entire movie collection on BD, and I still find Benedict Cumberbatch did an excellent job as Khan. I also think Benedict would make a great Thrawn should they choose to include the character in any of the new movies.

Honestly I don't like Bernito Cabbagepatch. He has a weird slim baby face and I think he was a terrible choice to play a character named Khan Noonien Singh.

He was much more simplistic than the original Khan. The Khan from TOS was noted to not be a complete asshole. He was called the "best of the tyrants" by Kirk, as he was a despot but did not abuse his people or commit senseless violence. He was noted to have many positive qualities. The reason he is so violent in The Wrath of Khan is because he has had to endure a nightmare for 15 years; it is understandable that he has emerged from this experience somewhat unhinged.

New Khan is just generic. The "noble tyrant" take on the character is gone, replaced by generic space Hitler figure who committed genocide. The character's style and flair is all gone.

As to Thrawn, I would prefer that Lars Mikkelson, the actor who voices him in Rebels, portray a live action Thrawn. Cumberpatch just strikes me as "Benedict Cumberbatch" in every role he plays, and it doesn't help that Thrawn-esque characters are 90% of his roles. He wouldn't be Thrawn, he would be Bernito Cumbernauld.

Spock's death and funeral still make me misty eyed

Me too.

The Empire Strikes Back. When it was initially released, it received mixed reviews from critics.

Thankfully, it is now recognized as one of the greatest films of all time, as it should be.

I rewatched this film a couple days ago, and I was reminded of how good it really is. Its age is definitely noticeable, but that in no way reflects negatively upon its quality or entertainment value.

Khan Noonien Singh is such a great villain, and Montalbán's performance and the various details of the character and his background reminded me of how disappointing I found Benedict Cumberbunch as Khan.

The acting isn't the best at times (Kirstie Alley is pretty bad), but when the film really needs to work on an emotional level, it does.

The Wrath of Khan is one of my favorite movies, and I decided to purchase it on Blu-Ray today, making it one of the few films I own a physical copy of.

I would recommend Blue Ruin and Green Room. While I prefer Blue Ruin, both are amazing films.

The Empire Strikes Back

really?

is this your favourite movie of all time, or do you genuinely think it's the greatest film ever created, objectively?

Yes.

Explain to me what it is about?

A talentless punk rock band is trapped in a club owned by the leader of a group of Neo-Nazis (played by Patrick Stewart).

Great movie. Didn't like it as much as Blue Ruin but I still really enjoyed it. Probably one of the most intense films I've seen in recent years.

I was slightly disappointed by Sir Patrick Stewart's performance; he has such dramatic range as an actor but only spoke in the same quiet tone of voice the entire time.

The blonde girl was totally awesome.
ending spoilers
that scene towards the end where she came out of the cushions was so badass

UPDATE:

Faction: Galactic Empire
  • Leader: Emperor Darth Vader (Vader succeeded in overthrowing Palpatine)
  • Second in command: Luke Skywalker
  • Government type: Autocratic
  • Capital/Starting Territory: Kuat, Kuat System, Kuat Sector, Core Worlds
  • Language: Galactic Basic
  • Currency: Galactic Standard Credit

Military
Head of Imperial Navy: Grand Admiral Thrawn
Head of Imperial Army: Grand General Cassio Tagge
 - A member of the House of Tagge, which owns the mining corporation TaggeCo. Access to TaggeCo's mining facilities and their resources allows for an increased production rate regarding starships, ground vehicles, etc.
Fleet:
- Flagship: The Eclipse, an Eclipse-class Super Star Destroyer
 - has 600 TIE Interceptors, 150,000 Stormtroopers

- 3,350 Imperial-II class Star Destroyers (+75 every two pages)
   - each SD has a complement of 9,000 Stormtroopers, 72 TIE/LN Starfighters, 20 AT-AT's, 30 AT-ST's, 8 Lambda
shuttlecraft
- 2 Executor Class SSD's: The Executor and the Chimaera
 - 38,000 Stormtroopers and 144 TIE's each.
- 500 Immobilizer-418 Interdictors
- 2,800 Victory-II class Star Destroyers
- Total TIE/LN's: 241,488 (includes those aboard SD's)
- Total TIE Interceptors: 600

- Total Stormtroopers: 31,376,000 (includes those aboard SD's)

Territory:
Kuat
Sluis Van
Fondor
 - The shipyards of Kuat, Sluis Van, and Fondor allow for increased production of starships right off of the bat.
Mygeeto
Muunilinst
Kessel
Kashyyyk
Sullust
Eriadu
Tepasi
Alderaan
Gorse
Brentaal IV
Corellia
Carida
Honoghr

The shipyards of Fondor are now under Imperial control; the Empire produces 150 Imperial Class Star Destroyers every two pages (by the way, I have been accounting for Stormtrooper conscription by simply adding 9000 stormtroopers for every new Star Destroyer).

Construction of another Executor-class Super Star Destroyer, the Annihilator, begins at the shipyards of Fondor. Upon its completion on page 36, it will be given to Grand General Cassio Tagge.

The Carida academy has been constructed. It is an advanced training facility where the Empire's infantry forces are to be trained, including special forces such as Storm Commandos, Death Troopers, and Shadow Stormtroopers.

Luke Skywalker and the Executor have been dispatched to Felucia to discuss Darktrooper Mk. III production with the CIS.

Imperial High Command laughs at the poor showing of the First Order wannabes. The Empire, as '77 OG's, is superior to all.
The Sith Empire would like to extend an offer to train Stormtroopers at the Denon Training facility giving them the ability to wield swords / Mandalorian tactics in battle.
In exchange the Sith Empire would get a battalion of 20,000 Troopers.

That's fine. No swords though. Doesn't really fit my forces.
