Well, I bought myself the AdMech Skitarii start collecting set, and another box of Space Marine neophytes to put in my Crusader squads.

I am a meticulous person; I thrive on detail.
so do i

doesn't change a thing

So just because I get caught up in the details of something other than what you are a fan of, I am autistic or those details are autistic?

You ever have a year where you want to ask for the receipts.for just about every gift you received but don't want to come across as an ungrateful cunt?

the film was made for fanboys by fanboys and we all know that

The main villain is pussified (is that a word?) by Vader and Tarkin,

I don't see a problem with this.

The idea is that Krennic thinks very highly of himself (he wears a fucking cape), but really he's just a worm. Albeit a resourceful, manipulative worm, but a worm nonetheless.

"People enjoy something I don't so they must have autism".
except i never said that, you autistic little kid

people who obsess over tiny little autistic details (like napalm) are the ones that drive me insane

Quote
NIN is an edgy knock off of Radiohead.
that doesn't even make sense on any level--if anything it's the other way around

radiohead may have formed as a band earlier than NIN, but they took 7 or 8 years to put anything out, and NIN was already well-established

also this has nothing to do with star wars--gg proving your autism

I am a meticulous person; I thrive on detail. Details serve to enrich the whole. I think the line was lackluster and could have been altered, I don't see how that makes me autistic.

Harrow County Vol. 3
The Sandman Vol. 7
Hellboy and the B.P.R.D: 1952
Hellboy in Mexico
Horus Rising
$20 steam gift card
car phone charger plug thing

Horus Rising is pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised upon reading it; I had expected pure pulp but it ended up being more thoughtful than that.

The Flood / Christmas Haul/Activities Thread
« on: December 25, 2016, 02:59:23 AM »
On Christmas Eve myself and my brother opened gifts at my Mother's apartment.

I received $170 in cash, and a shirt which was $175. Personally I would have preferred just cash as I've never really understood buying such expensive clothing, but I am thankful and appreciative nonetheless. My mother also said she would get me an airbrush and a compressor, she just didn't want to accidentally purchase the wrong one.

I'll update the haul list later.

Post your Christmas Haul and what activities/family events you are taking part in.

My team is like

WAAAAAYY better, ROFL
Nearly every team is.
IKR!?!? HAHAHAHA

HOLD MY BEER, I HAVE TO GO BEAT MY WIFE BECAUSE SHE KEEPS TELLING ME TO QUIET DOWN

Verb... You can like sports and not be a stereotypical bro-douche.
Nah man. Every single human who has ever liked a sport for a second automatically turns into a deplorable bro-esque type.
What if a woman likes sports?

Does she beat the husband?
No no... That will never work... She beats herself! Brilliant.

Spoiler
why god

Fuckin' flagellants man.

I caved in and got the crafting set today, price was pretty horrendous but the unfinished baneblade of 2011 will finally get the treatment it deserves.

The real test is whether or not I can actually paint for shit these days, because what I used to make was worthy of the THIN YOUR PAINTS video.

We'll seeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Holy shit, you bought a Baneblade at one point? Damn son.

What exactly did you buy?

Also, I have a recommendation. Get Vallejo Thinner Medium if you are painting with a brush, it makes things way easier as it alters the consistency of the paint without reducing adhesion and such as water would.
Yeah, it was a gift for finishing highschool.

I've bought truckloads of stuff over the years though
About 100 ish space marines, a full company of guard (3 platoons and support sections), inquisition stuff and one of those mini-knights, 3 leman russes, sentinels/chimera and the baneblade.

Not to mention the LOTR stuff from way back and the Fantasy stuff too.

Thanks for the tip too.

That's cool. I bought the Burning of Prospero set when it released a bit ago (gotta have that sweet Mk. 3 armor), a Land Raider Crusader for my swarm of angry bees crusaders, a couple Tac squad boxes, a Venerable dreadnought. Mostly I have bought loads of assorted bits on eBay. I also traded the Sisters of Silence from the Prospero set for a Contemptor Dreadnought.

On the AdMech side I bought a squad of Skitarii, and will hopefully get the Start Collecting set soon. Finally, I am going to be trading some other Prospero guys that I didn't want for another set of Skitarii.

-Vader apparently lives in Mordor

I thought the same thing, I laughed to myself in the theater, but thought it was totally awesome.

Someone made a good post about if you're butt hurt over his 80's style one liner, you're an idiot. It's in this thread somewhere.

I am not butthurt over it, I just think it could have been executed better.
Really the problem for me is the emphasis on choke. I'd need to see the movie again though.
I was more so speaking in general, not directly hating on you.

Oh, okay.

Did anyone else find Vader's pun groan worthy? I've been trying to figure out why I basically cringed at it, when he does joke a fair amount in all the other films. So I compared some of his other jokes lines;
YouTube

to his Rogue One line (link will probably get copyright claimed);
YouTube

And I dunno, I can't really put my finger on it. I think it's because it's like a self referential joke, something a fan would say but shouldn't actually be put to film. "Wouldn't it be cool if Darth Vader thought his choking ability was totally epic and funny?" It'd be like if the Emperor made some pun about Luke finding it "shocking" how much it hurt being electrified by him

I think the problem is that JEJ emphasized "choke" in the line. If it was just "be careful not to choke on your aspirations Director" delivered in his usual tone, that would've been better. Instead it was "be careful not to choke on your aspirations", which wasn't Vader's usual style.

Anakin always quips. As potato's video showed, he does it in the OT to. I think it's just people are looking for an excuse to dislike the movie. If you cringe at "Don't choke on your aspirations", you should also cringe at "I find your lack of faith disturbing."

But none of his "funny" sayings in the OT were in reference to his ability to force choke people like we got in Rogue One.
"Wow my force powers are so fucking cool" is basically what we get out of the line and it's not Vader at all.

I think you're looking a little to deep into that line. Anakin quips. Always has.

Darth Vader isn't Anakin Skywalker. He's way cooler and far more badass.

I wouldn't call Vader's lines "quips". Quips are more... Peppy,  Vader's were more theatrical, dramatic. You got the sense that Vader has an appreciation for the dramatic and has a tendency for theatrics.

Oh yeah, there even using Vangelis's soundtrack from the first one, or at least parts of it. I wonder if he's making more music for this one.
Nah it's Johan Johannson, still a good artist though.

Yas bois, Denis Villenueve has never made a bad film yet.

Also, I don't think this refutes the Deckard replicant theory that people are complaining about. It's possible that Tyrell designed him to last longer. Rachael was meant to be a replacement for his niece and it's unlikely he would build in the 4 year fail-safe for her, and it could be equally applicable to Deckard.

You know, I never liked how Scott always insisted that Deckard was a replicant. The ambiguity is the point; it doesn't matter, as replicants are so close to humans you can't tell anymore.

That microwave popcorn is awful? The smell permeates through the entire fucking house and doesn't dissipate for hours.

One of my family members just made some and I already have a headache. When I asked them if they would air the house out they started acting really bitchy and derided me for being "touchy". Sorry, I just happen to dislike awful headaches.

Why is this TFA hate bandwaggon a thing?

I don't know if I would call it hate, but after a few months people's thoughts on the film became less positive after that "oh thank goodness it's not as bad as the prequels" phase was over and the flaws of the film became more apparent.
