When Vader finds out Luke is his son, he doesn't say "Anakin Skywalker has a son", he says "I have a son".
It's also the moment when he starts to open back up to the light, when his persona starts to crumble.
Kylo Ren's character is established on the basis of following his grandfather's footsteps. Kylo used the same reasoning for disassociating from "Ben Solo": he was weak, so he killed him.
But its all an act and lie they tell themselves. Their actions show differently. Anakin is Vader as much as Ben is Kylo.
I wouldn't go as far as Napalm to say that they are two separate characters, but I wouldn't treat Vader like Anakin. He doesn't respond the same way, and in terms of personality he's a different person. It may be a front created to distance themselves from the light, but functionally it works just as well as killing their old lives as long as they stay entrenched.
This is exactly what I am saying.
