It would be cool, but also dangerous.

at least it's not Warhammer 40,000; Dangerous and miserable

You should watch The Worlds End too, if you haven't already.

Alright, thanks.
How does in compare to the previous installments in the "trilogy", in terms of quality?

my least favorite thing about this movie is its perpetuation of the stupid "don't call them zombies" meme

why not call them zombies? "because it's ridiculous"

why is it ridiculous?

i mean really

why is it ridiculous

if zombies were real, would we really not just call them zombies? fuck off

Eh, the usage of the term in a serious film never really works for me. I remember in the World War Z movie it felt weird hearing it. Not that the movie was good, but the usage of the term in a serious, in-universe context felt odd.

Wonderful film. I had already seen Hot Fuzz a while back, and loved it; I can't believe it took me this long to get around to seeing its predecessor.

This brings up an interesting point, why the fuck didn't Wendy take extra precautions when he found out the truth from Anakin? Like send Anakin off world and play along with Sheev until Yoda and other really high masters came back?

Because prequels.

I dunno, it would have totally made sense if they had played to Samuel L. Jackson's strengths and had him play a more aggressive Jedi, someone who would act on that information without thinking too much.

Unfortunately they didn't do that.

Man of Steel

Prequels of course. I understand why one would like RoTS more though.

Sexual comedies

Very disturbing psychological horror films (stuff like Blue Velvet). I can acknowledge that they're well made but I certainly don't enjoy them.

Why does sheev say he's thessanat when he's clearly called sheev?

Thessanat is his middle name, which he prefers to go by.

That's pretty damn funny; gotta love today's political climate.

I've been a staunch supporter of the Empire since the age of four, and will be till I die. They're militaristic, have a cool aesthetic, wear helmets, and one of their leaders is Darth fucking Vader, AKA the coolest guy ever. What's not to like?

1493
Bump in case no one saw it.

Rian Johnson, the director, posted the photo comprising the right side of the image below on Instagram

Here is an image analyzing the changes

Personally, I like the changes they have made. I didn't mind the original First Order Stormtrooper design; but, I feel that these modifications to the design, however slight, are a real improvement. The helmet looks more menacing and less passive.

OK, to elaborate, I thought the film was decent until the last thirty minutes or so, when it became rather meh.
The stuff about Xavier was very sad.

I actually thought it was very meh.
The gritty realistic stuff was good, but clashed with the standard "X-Men" stuff, and made the latter feel particularly stupid.

Cool, thanks broski. I've been meaning to get back into reading Star Wars again.

Read Catalyst by James Luceno. Literally about this.
That and Tarkin by the same author are really good.

Galen Erso

I would've loved to see what his life was like before he defected from the Empire.

I guess Director Krennic was pretty entertaining when he threw a fucking tantrum and went to Darth Vader to complain about it lol

I read the Catalyst prequel novel (really good btw, recommend it), so that definitely influences my thoughts, but I think Krennic is a very interesting character. He's interesting because he's intelligent, cunning, and competent, but to a point.

His reckless disregard for the chain of command, and his other flaws are what make him interesting.
Having only seen the film, to me Krennic is just a lameo incompetent whiner who gets a bunch of his potential screen time stolen by should-be-cameo villains Tarkin and Vader

Perhaps I should have worded my post differently. He's not necessarily incompetent at what he's good at doing, but he has an overinflated sense of importance, and thinks he's more competent than he really is as it applies to things outside of his talents. I wasn't implying he's amazingly competent or anything.

Here's a good example. Krennic is good at manipulating people, especially on a personal level. An excellent example of this is Galen Erso. However, just because he can manipulate less powerful people and easily manipulated people he knows doesn't mean he can manipulate Tarkin.

Krennic thinks he could though.

I love how he thinks he's equivalent to Tarkin but Tarkin just thinks he's an overconfident shit.
Yeah. Have you read catalyst too?

No, but I do keep up with new star wars stuff so I know the basics of it.

I'm planning on picking it and Tarkin up at some point.
Do it. Both novels are excellent.
