Twitter is especially bad regarding political discussion.

I just use it for the occasional meme

Deci's old enough to buy cigarettes
So is my dad but he still bugs me to buy some for him
Oh, sorry I misread your post. I thought you said the guy who approached you was someone in their late teens.

My apologies.

I mean, watching Tumblr have a stroke over this is certainly entertaining

Speaking of which

I mean, watching Tumblr have a stroke over this is certainly entertaining, but I personally didn't want it to go in this direction. I didn't find the episode enjoyable aside from Zoidberg.

What I think is funny is that Trump supporters were completely fine with Trump's "pussy" comments, insulting other people throughout the campaign, etc. but Colbert makes a joke (albeit one that's not too funny), and suddenly all Hell breaks loose and they scream, "WHAT A FILTHY MOUTH, HE NEEDS TO BE FIRED!"
They're trying to do to Colbert what any leftist would do to a right-winger who said the same thing.

i'm struggling to think of any right wing comedians who got complaints by people to the fcc for using some slightly naughty language on a show that airs at 12:00 am ET during the 8 years of the obama presidency.
I'm struggling to think of right wing comedians with late hour shows.

There aren't any as far as I know, despite the fact that there's been an open spot for a late night ideological opponent to Bill Maher for years.

Just pay $30 for the Arma 3/DayZ mod known as PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.  Been having more fun with that.

How does it differ from DayZ? Does it have a "premise" like DayZ's zombie apocalypse?

Do you get the varied player interactions that made DayZ interesting?

Basically Battle Royale.  You can get a squad together or go solo, get in an airplane, drop off at a random location and start looting for weapons and gear, and struggle to survive against about 100 other people as a barrier slowly closes in around you.
That's pretty cool, I might get that.

There's a singleplayer version for ArmA 3 called Ravage: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=29638
What drew me to DayZ was the interactions between players, so a solely PvE game wouldn't interest me.

I appreciate the recommendation, though.

No

Not worth playing again or not completely fucked?
No, just no

So no to worth playing again?

That's a shame. It was such a promising project and idea.

I haven't kept up with updates for a long time; has there been any notable progress?
Did the development completely crash when Rocket left?

I bought a copy a long time ago, and now have a decent PC that could actually run it well. I was wondering if it's even worth trying out again.

What is happening

Can somebody provide me with a detailed account of events leading up to this thread
BC came back, and essentially he not only lied (on the internet!) but he led Nuka on to the point where Nuka made life plans around a promise BC made to him, and the fact the BC told compulsively told a few white lies was suddenly bigger than just a way to inflate his ego on the internet, suddenly he had ruined someone's life.

Class hates BC because he does things like this, and they got in a fight in BC's thread which leaked into the mains by way of this thread.

This coincides with with the time at which it become public knowledge that Class and I are dating, and the revival of the Class Wars from 2013.

Or in other words...
Haha, first Class War huh?

okay

I used to find Colbert funny, but since the Colbert Report ended he hasn't been humorous at all.

Trump has universally killed comedy though. Not through actions by the man himself, but because left-leaning comedians and media figures (read: all of them) endlessly lampooning and mocking him. It's not funny or original in any way. It's beating a dead horse until the horse has been virtually disintegrated.
Some dead horses should be disintegrated.

Criticizing Trump =/= endlessly telling shitty jokes about him and making him the only subject you ever tell jokes about.

I'm not saying you can't criticize Trump; he should be criticized for his errors. Just don't be fucking obnoxious about it to the point that I find those who endlessly tell unfunny jokes about him just as irritating as Trump himself.

« on: May 05, 2017, 06:30:38 PM »
To be fair, I wouldn't judge America by the south or chunks of the midwest.  There's a difference between The United States and Muricuh.  Go to New England.

But now that you're there...uhhh eat fried butter, get some moonshine at a gas station, and buy a gun at Walmart?

North Dallas is really nice, aside from he boring landscape. Frisco (where I went to school) and McKinney (where I live) are consistently ranked very highly among best places to live in the U.S.

Texas suffers from stereotypes and being lumped in with Deep South states like Mississippi due to its geographic location.

The Flood / Re: What's wrong with Hedonism?
« on: May 05, 2017, 11:37:39 AM »
I could write a whole dissertation on why hedonism is terrible, but I'll make it short: It breeds selfish behavior.
And maybe, just maybe, all behavior is selfish. Can pleasure be defined so simply as chasing the simple i puts that define flesh? Could achievement be also derived down to the point of earthly pleasure?
No, all behavior is selfish, that's an absolute certainty. The point is to be the least selfish, or the most selfless--as close as you can get. Just because there are no 100% selfless deeds does not mean that we should be 100% selfish.

Can the two be separated? A scientist curing cancer is venerated regardless of whether he or she did it for fame or humanitarian reasons.

Follow your bliss. That's all I have to say.

stop

I don't know if I will be able to stomach Baby Groot. He came across as really forced even in the trailers, and I expect in the film they milk him for all he's worth.

Things I have seen so far:

- morbidly obese man with two obsese children, all wearing MAGA hats (and the dad had a constitution shirt + sweatpants on) at at the Atlanta Airport
- black people talking and acting like American black people you see on the internet (it was great - the girls went mmm hmmm while waving their finger and the guys said dawg 3 times a sentence)
- storm drains like in the movies and big sewer entries with bars in place to keep out the alligators (unfortunately, no alligators seen yet)

10/10 would clap again
Welcome to Georgia
