Greetings. I don't know how many of you guys buy those Gundam models from Bandai, but if anyone does I could use some help. My issue is, I just ordered the Bandai 1/12 scale Stormtrooper on Amazon, and seeing as water slide decals apparently look much nicer, I'd like to place those on the model, rather than messing with some stickers that likely wouldn't adhere well to the curved surfaces of the Stormtrooper's helmet, like the mouth-grill and blue lines along the sides. Now, I've heard about this Mark Setter and Mark Softer stuff, and that's what I'm most curious about. Here are my questions: 1) What does each do? 2) When do I apply them? 3) Does one have to purchase the specific Mr. Mark Softer/Setter Japanese brand chemicals, or are there cheaper, non-imported brands that are just as good? I'm seeing a lot of the same bottles with Japanese text in some of the YouTube tutorials I've been watching, which are mostly about Gundam models. Because these people seem to be weaboos, I have a feeling if I asked them I'd get a biased answer. I could really use your help, as this is the first time I've ever bought a model kit by Bandai. Indeed, if you have any tips related to applying decals or the model in general, please feel free to provide them.

Imagine there's no UN,
Est easy if du try,
No Security Council O'er us,
Preventing Die 4th Reich,
Imagine All die conquest,
That Deutschland could achieve.
Imagine There's no countries,
Except for Germany,
No more National Borders,
No Pesky Democracy.
Imagine all die Gruden,
Added to die Deutsche Reich.
You may say I'm imperialistic,
But I'm not the only one.
We know that soon, you will join us,
And Großdeutschland shall be as one.
Imagine no more Polan,
I wonder if du can,

Imagine all die Deutsch Volk
All having Lebensraum.
You may say I'm imperialistic,

And Großdeutschland shall be as one.
It's a much better version of the hippie degenerate anthem.

So, as everyone here probably knows, the Star Wars EU was made non-canon. All of us who are Star Wars fan reacted rather strongly to this, as the EU, while flawed, had some great content, and many, including myself, were quite disgruntled, and worried about the future of Star Wars. What was now canon was quite sparse, as at that time it was only the films and The Clone Wars, and what might happen to Star Wars under Disney concerned us. I myself chose to keep up with this new canon and any additions to the lore, as I feared for my favorite franchise, and wanted to see what would become of it. It doesn't seem anyone else on this site has chosen to do so, therefore I would like to inform you about the current state of the lore, the quality of the new material, etc. What new canon is currently composed of: Marvel's Star Wars comics ( Star Wars and Darth Vader, soon to be accompanied by a Leia series) The Clone Wars TV show Star Wars Rebels The novels Tarkin and A New DawnNow, I have read all of the new comics currently released, and seen every Rebels episode thus far. However, I have not read A New Dawn, and have only read the Google Play Books sample of Tarkin, which is composed of around six chapters, if I recall correctly. Now, to the quality of the new content. Now, before I speak of the quality of the content, I'd like to address those of you who I have seen to be hostile to the subject of the new canon. I understand your concerns, your apprehensions, your anger regarding the loss of the EU, as I too felt this way immediately following the loss of the EU. However, given what I've seen so far, the new canon isn't bad, and with time I think it will come to be loved as much as the EU. First off, let's address Marvel's Star Wars comics. They're great. They feel like Star Wars, like you took an unreleased original trilogy film, and turned it into a comic book. I know I frightened everyone with the thread I posted a couple days ago, which included an image of some awkward dialogue from Vader in Star Wars #2, but don't worry, the rest of Marvel's material has been great. Darth Vader, in particular, is absolutely fantastic, portraying the inner machinations of the Imperial Government, and the relationship between Vader and Palpatine, with finesse. The dialogue was spot on, and Darth Vader makes for an excellent anti-hero. I would encourage everyone to take a look at the latter comic, it's $5.00 and is available on Marvel's online comics store, and can be accessed through Marvel's app on iPhone and Android. Now, on to Rebels. I'm less enthusiastic about this, but given the introduction of Grand Moff Tarkin in the latest episode, this may change. Overall, Rebels has been an exhibition of Star Wars' more lighthearted side, and this doesn't particularly suit my tastes. However, this aspect of Star Wars has always been present, it isn't The Dark Knight. However, with the introduction of Tarkin to the show, the change in tone was immediate. Tarkin has a couple of annoying, incompetent Imperial officers that served as minor villains in previous episodes decapitated, and delivers a rather dark monologue on how to effectively put down resistance from native populations. Furthermore, as with the novel Tarkin, which I will discuss next, Rebels has brought elements of the EU into the new canon, a particularly exciting example of this being the mention of Base-Delta-Zero, "an effective new method of liberating planets", as stated by an Imperial propaganda broadcast. Finally, on to what I've read of Tarkin. It's good, and elaborates on Tarkin's past, and explains his role and place in the Imperial hierarchy. Also, whereas Rebels mentions concepts present in the EU, Tarkin, at times, read like a list of locations and technical statistics once present in the EU, bringing all of it into the new canon. It feels like the author was trying to salvage as much as he could from the EU, and I'm deeply thankful for it. Thus, in conclusion, I think that there's a pretty decent chance that Star Wars post-EU will turn out all right, The new canon has shown itself to be pretty good in quality, and has added increased depth to the franchise, explaining certain details, such as why Darth Vader takes orders from Tarkin in the first film. I'd be happy to summarize the synopsis of some of these works if you guys would like me to. I also ask that this discussion remain civil, and that you approach what I've spoken of with an open mind.

But for me, it was Tuesday. So, in my Star Wars Comics thread I mentioned that Vader's dialogue seemed a little off in Star Wars #2, and this line in particular is what felt most odd. Definitely reminded me of Major Bison in the Street Fighter movie. Overall, the comics are fantastic, but this line made me chuckle a bit.

Anyone else been reading these? So far I'm quite satisfied, Marvel has perfectly captured the magic of the original films. I thought Darth Vader #1 was fantastic.
I do have some complaints, however. For one, Vader's dialogue in Star Wars #2 seemed off, didn't really fit him. Second, I have some issues with the art. The main Star Wars series hasn't perfectly replicated the look of the Stormtroopers, and Darth Vader #1's Emperor Palpatine looked awful.
Overall, I'm quite pleased, and most of my fears have been alleviated for the time being.

In my Physics class, there's a girl who has never seen Star Wars. She referred to Anakin as "Antoine". My question is, how hard has she tried not to see it, given that she's a middle class American? Quite a feat.
So, what should I do?

Below is a summary I wrote last May regarding what I think the rumored Boba Fett film should be like, I thought it'd make an interesting discussion. You might've heard that there's a Boba Fett film that may or may not be made some day, and I thought that it would be an interesting topic of discussion.
I personally think it could be quite good, but only if done right. The film shouldn't be a stupid action movie, it shouldn't be a thriller. No, it should be the side of Star Wars that, in my opinion, Boba Fett embodies.
It should be a Western. I've always seen Boba Fett as the Clint Eastwood of Star Wars, a Man With No Name type character. Thus, I feel that a Space-Western-type film would be best suited for Fett. There shouldn't be a bunch of mindless explosions and such. Rather, there should be extremely tense scenes leading up to brief, but very intense shootouts. Like a stand-off in, well, a Western, or like the scene where Han shoots Greedo.
Now, we move on to the man himself. Now, he'd obviously have to be a bit more talkative than in the original trilogy, as he was merely a side character in those films. He should still be a man of few words, but he should have a lot of wit, delivered in a deadpan manner. However, there is something more interesting regarding Fett that is being considered by filmmakers: killing him.
What's being discussed is as follows: the actual Boba Fett, clone of Jango, is killed by a mysterious stranger, who then takes the title for himself. This would restore the mystery surrounding the character that I personally feel was lost upon his backstory being revealed in AoTC. I'm all for this, but only under one condition: This would have to occur in between Revenge of The Sith and A New Hope. It has to be explained that this new guy is the Boba Fett we all know and love, not some Maori kid.
Furthermore, Fett's harsh moral code should be retained as well. Fett is noted to only take jobs that fit this code of honor. In addition, Fett is very puritanical regarding women. I think it goes without saying that Boba Fett would be ruined for all of us if we saw him banging space prostitutes.
Finally, we come to Boba Fett's position on the Good/Evil scale. Fett is no saint, but he's not evil either. He should still be likable in his own badass way. Thus, I think he should be on the darkest edge of neutral. Essentially, he should be a man "just trying to make his way in the universe."
That sums up my opinions on a possible Boba Fett film. Do you guys agree with my points, or do you have something entirely different in mind? Discuss.

Recently, I informed you all of the arrival of the Supreme Commander of the Imperial Fleet. Now, I announce the arrival of one of the galaxy's most feared. For so long, I had searched. For so long, I had seen the online prices soar. For so long, I was deprived of my favorite character's 6" figure. That time is over. For one fateful November 2nd, I would look upon my Amazon wishlist, only to find that the price was a mere $3 more than retail, in comparison to $30-$50 more as had been the case. There was no question as to what action I should take. I purchased it, and anxiously awaited the arrival of the mighty hunter. The wait is over. Fett has come. 6" figure, scale is perfect, as with the other figures, with him being the same height as the Stormtroopers, and around a half inch shorter than Lord Vader.

Their master, the mighty conqueror that will lead them into glorious battle against the rebel scum, has arrived. All 6" scale. I'm also very pleased that Darth Vader's height is accurate; he's about a half inch taller than the Stormtroopers. Hasbro did a fine job, he even has a metal chain, and the cape has patches sewn onto the corners that keep them from becoming deformed, in addition to weighing the cape down.Lord Vader, Supreme Commander of the Imperial Fleet, has returned.
