So how does competitive ranking work? Still like 15 levels away from being able to play it.
10 placement matches, then you get a rank 0-100. 40-50s is average. Then you play like its a normal game but no hero stacking and a bit more focused. You move up and down every match based on your proformace and if you won or lost. But its not by numbers, its by fractions. So i can loose a match but still be rank 60 if i was close to 61. All of that is about to change tho, so i wouldnt worry about it till winter season

Oh right, so i dont like the time bank mechanics for 2 cap points (anubis, hanamura, volskya) because the games take too fucking long. ~20 mins per game, fuck that. Not happy that is coming to payload. At least if you failed the coinflip it was only a 2 minute steamroll. They upped the overtime decay because KotH games were taking 30 mins to finish. Why blizzard.

but i want it this season. Ill fight tooth and nail these next two days. 70 wins per day to get the second gold and get top 500. ... maybe im being unreasonable

I dont mind his ult. Its still viable in quickplay by itself, when that stops he might need a rework. I like where he is honestly. I think he's a fun quickplay guy, no competative viability tho. He's like Symmetra, ill play the shit out of them in quickplay but stay reinhardt, tracer, pharrah in comp.

Hanzo is an amazing damage dealer if you land his shots. 120hp per full draw, leavin the 200hp enemies weak to Tracer flanks or Reaper snipes(range nerf when). His wall climb is picky at the BEST times, its not like Genji's at all. Scatter arrow is like 400hp if every arrow hits its target. If you can get a clear shot on a tank it will melt them. Common method is to shoot scatter arrow on the ground right in front of the tank so every ricochet hits. Sonic arrow is great for local radar for a choke point or if you have a pain in the ass enemy stick it to them and pray your team focuses them because they're highlighted. Your ult is loud and people will scatter. Try to aim it into small rooms full of people or door ways you think people will run to when they hear the ult go off. It syncs best with Zarya (who is amazing btw, great tank to have on any team) but Reinhardt and Mei's ults can do in a pinch.
When you play hanzo he's close to mid. If you fight a widow (on pc) you will die (until you git gud). Your job is to get a kill just before team fights to tip the scales. I try to focus on junkrat or reaper so we have an easier time killin shit or mercy and lucio so they cant heal. Kill turrets, bastions, pharah if you can manage it, over all deal some stupid fucking damage with cheesey hitboxes.
In competitive his role is best served by literally other character so don't pick him. His fire rate is too slow and even if his ult is easy as hell to get comp matches are very aware of ults so you wont get a single kill unless you sync with another player.

Fun game so far. One thing I find strange though is how I feel like my mouse sometimes goes all "floaty" on me. It's never happened to me in any other game, but every so often I get the feeling that my mouse acts strange for a few seconds as if I suddenly had acceleration turned on or something. Anyone else experienced the same thing?

There is something that happens right after the IFF and you can choose to do that or go to the relay. You can do that before the relay but anything else after will kill the crew, iirc. Time limit is 2 missions i think. Thats the only time sensitive thing in game.

Walking around by yourself = not fun
Rolling deep with the squad = fun
The gameplay is so bland tho. Even if you're goofing off with friends.
