how exactly do you measure 'cultural impact' and 'lasting legacy' in order to say that CoD has won?
put it plainly how you came to your conclusion in the OP without being as vague as "because i think so".

The Black Ops series has had an impact on how popular gaming as a whole is, the fact that they were so successful led to an influx of people into gaming. Compare them to Reach and 4, both of those games are undoubtedly good and 4 is important in the franchise but neither have had an impact on the industry-whereas both Blops have.
It's not measurable per se, but it's observable through comparison.
most triple A titles are now 'popular gaming' so that applies to Halo as well. i dont understand how you attribute the influx of players to Black Ops, which from my point of view was one of the weakest CoD in the series. "the fact that they were so successful led to an influx of people into gaming" [source?]. so it is comparing sales, then? Spoiler Compare them to Reach and 4, both of those games are undoubtedly good fucking lol. a conversation for another day

It doesn't make sense why people compete games together like that for that very reason. If you want an exclusive game to look good sales wise, compare it to other exclusive tittles, not multiplatforms.
well Killzone isnt really on anyone's radar and there really isnt another Multiplayer fps titan in the gaming arena (console). unless im forgetting something huge...
