That's hugbox mentality 101. This is "you're-either-with-me-or-against-me" rhetoric 101.
I'm not about creating a "hugbox", and you know it.
Verb you're talking about the word dingo being 'malicious harassment'. What would you call it?

Just remember that it's not the word "dingo" by itself that qualifies as malicious harassment. That's a straw man.
Malicious harassment counts as malicious harassment. Any word can be used to maliciously harass anyone.
so, just admit that you're arguing for the authorization of harassment, and you'll have a consistent (though ethically questionable) argument
Under that mindset anything and everything is harassment. Words have no meaning. That's hugbox mentality 101. Again you're free to believe that, but you should know its not going to be voted for here, and if it was ever put in effect it'd go horribly.

Naoto. You're wrong.
Guess I can't argue with that.

i don't care, that's not the point you asked for "fun" forums that would "slap" you for calling someone a "retard"--something as benign as "retard" And I'm saying we have different views on what qualifies as fun. If it ever reaches levels of malicious harassment again How on earth does the word 'dingo' qualify as 'malicious harassment'? And if we designate the word "dingo" as a word to harass another user and make them feel uncomfortable, then that's, in my opinion, worthy of punishment. And I think that is insane. Insults are still unacceptable. On principle. I disagree. consider your priorities if you're honestly still at all concerned about your right to shitpost here
seriously i don't even think anyone else but you cares anymore about it
I see people complain about locked threads regularly. My priority is enjoyment. Only reason to come here at all.

Meh.
Joker was probably the worst part of that. The rest of it didn't look horrible.

Find me a fun forum that slaps people for something as benign as retard. If this place stops being fun people will go elsewhere. i wouldn't call "retard" benign in fact, insults are quite literally the opposite of "benign"
anyways: http://www.pokebeach.com/forums/ http://www.smogon.com/forums/ (seriously) http://smashboards.com/forums/ http://zeldauniverse.net/forums/
and these are just ones i've been a part of
if you would leave because you consider flaming other users "fun", ask yourself how much we need you as a member
I wouldn't post at any of those tbh. Do we really want to go down the banning insults path (not that I think its likely we will. you have to recognize you're in the minority here verby). Should we warn anyone who calls Elegiac dingo again? He certainly has a better case than Bezerk. Its The Flood. Not some Nintendo kid friendly site. There's a certain level of maturity expected here and that means being able to take a few insults. (obviously excluding the serious board) I still think this is a side argument anyways since technically it shouldn't be happening under the hybrid system. That distinctly matches the strict description. The major difference between the three was how they handled shitposts.

With the system we have now people are getting warnings for calling others retard.
I don't think they're getting warned for calling somebody it once they're most likely got warned for doing it more than once. If you seen that thread of Lemons he posted here about he makes it seem like he's some innocent user getting mod biases which isn't the case. He called me a retard more than once and I think he does the same to Deci. After the first few times when you know the person isn't joking it ends up being harassment which is against the rules. Can you honestly say that this post of his is more of a joke than it being harassment? It's easy to see that it's more of an insult than a joke.
Yeah that's not harassment.

No we haven't, not unless they're doing it mulitple times per thread in an attempt to piss off someone. Anyone who has gotten a warning for saying something like that once has just been slapped with unfair and inconsistent moderation.
If I read that thread correctly Cheat seemed to disagree with your assessment here. He wants the place to be more welcoming. But stricter moderation (ala retard warnings) isn't going to do that. Its going to make people want to do it more.

With the system we have now people are getting warnings for calling others retard. i don't see the problem it's not like he was joking--he was being malicious
the problem isn't getting warnings for name-calling--the problem is that cheat singled out one user for doing it, when the sort of thing happens all the time, everywhere
find me a good forum that allows flaming other users--go ahead
Find me a fun forum that slaps people for something as benign as retard. If this place stops being fun people will go elsewhere. Archive already went the hugbox no shitposting route and we all pretty much universally laughed at them. Strict would be the dumbest thing we can do. I still think shitposting and meaningless threads are where the humor happens. Something doesn't have to have discussion value or be on topic in order for it to be fun. The trick is not allowing spam or stuff that crosses the line into harassment. But like I said I doubt a vote would turn out anything other than hybrid, and I know we won't get strict since only a few people want it.

If we go to the lax system we're going to have people throwing shit at each other which is going to make the site look hostile which is going to drive people off. For a small community that is loosing people we want to have more people using this site so it stays up due to more advertisement money. With the system we have in place now it makes that site look more friendly which hopefully keeps people. From what I seen in the member introduction thread a lot of the new people that post in it stopped posting before they got to 100 replies. It's either they simply don't like the site or they think we're hostile to each other. If we go to a system that would increase hostility we would probably be loosing even more people and gaining less.
Lax never tolerated harassment or spam. It just allowed shitposting. With the system we have now people are getting warnings for calling others retard.

Been thinking this myself. With any changes like that its usually good to run a follow up. Though I think we'll just end up with hybrid again.
Still prefer lax.

Pokemon Gold and Silver was originally only going to be the Johto region. This is the guy that single-handedly comes in and compresses the entire game in his spare time. Just because he wants to fit Kanto in for the players as well.
Salvaged Earthbound by rebuilding its coding from scratch.
Integral part of coding for Pokemon Stadium, Super Smash bros, Ballon Fight, and Kirby games.
Joined HAL labs in 1983 out of university. By 1993 he became president of the company. Joined Nintendo in 2000, and became the first president outside the Yamauchi family in 2002. (rapid rises like this don't happen in Japan)
Took massive leaps of faith with the DS and Wii, and managed to outsell psp, ps3, 360 coming off the poor sales of the gamecube.
Salvaged the 3DS which early on was not selling at all.
Decided to opt out of E3 conferences and instead created Nintendo Directs.
But it is fun watching people who haven't done jack shit with their lives try to shit up a thread about his death.

what specifically about alcohol makes sex better
Just curious, have you ever been drunk before?...or had sex?
drunk, yes had sex, no
i wouldn't be asking if i knew, would i?
True I suppose. But I'd assume you could use your imagination if you'd done one or the other. I get you're not the biggest fan of dopamine, but shouldn't be that hard to understand why others enjoy it.

Women are not responsible for their actions while drunk. Men are responsible for their actions while drunk.
Equality.

Cold.
Women's feelings > men's lives evidently. Not to mention veteran suicide rates. Shitty thing for a potential Commander-in-Chief to say.
She's definitely willing to say stupid shit if she thinks it'll pander that women vote out. But she is pure politician after all so not all that surprising.

Like the setting. Noir jazzy 1920s is muh sweet spot. Characters seem to have some personality to em. But eh. Just so damn zombie'd out at this point.
Neat but not selling me on the game.

I was thinking of adopting a Lab a while back, they are really cool dogs. But I can't handle hyper dogs.
Well I mean every dog breed is going to have energy and need exercise. I don't really think of labs as any more hyper than other breeds. They mostly just want to play fetch and go for walks. Super friendly, sociable, and trainable for the most part tho. Good family pet.

Persona 4 Golden is my all time favorite, but I think something like Ocarina of Time or Super Mario World would probably be the boat in a more general listing if that makes sense.
