The Flood / Re: 'Another Earth?': NASA hints at planetary discovery« on: July 22, 2015, 03:19:59 PM »
We've discovered quite a few in the habitable zone already. Right size and all. Just too far away to do anything about it.
Any life found would leak faster than you could blink so its likely not that. 213

Serious / Where do you get your news?« on: July 22, 2015, 02:12:15 PM »
Just curious what everyone's sources are. Apps, sites, channels etc.
Also any one you particularly dislike? I mostly stick to Reuters and Politico, and to a lesser extent AP News and the BBC. Tend to like outlets that try to be as objective as possible. BBC pushes the limits a lot but they're better than any of the big US broadcasters. Occasionally will check out MSNBC, TYT, and Fox News for muh spin coverage. Not a big fan of the three, but its good to keep up with the different narratives and see where everyone is coming from. 216

Serious / Re: The gender pay gap myth could finally be meeting its demise in the UK« on: July 22, 2015, 10:45:35 AM »What I love about these articles and videos is that they always have a tendency to vilify women's choices in child rearing as if it's a huge issue that needs to be rectified.Didn't seem to vilify it to me? I think you might be reading too much into it. Seemed like a pretty straight forward explanation. 218
The Flood / Re: Who are the best atheist commentators on youtube to subscribe to?« on: July 22, 2015, 10:41:41 AM »
noelplum99 and thunderf00t were the main ones for me.
Though I tended to just prefer your Hitchens, Harris, and Dawkins of the world. In comparison Amazing Atheist is a derp. Just avoid the atheism+ nutjobs. The Atheist Experience was ruined by that mess. PZ Myers and any freethoughblogs psychos are not worth it. Really don't watch any of it anymore. Its interesting when you first make the jump, but after a while it stops being that big of a thing in your life. 219

The Flood / Re: Chinese Cartoon Thread [Anime stuff]« on: July 22, 2015, 04:04:17 AM »
Finished Your lie in April a while ago.
Was quite good. If a bit sad. Would recommend. Also watched Beyond the Boundary and Little Witch Academia: Enchanted Parade. Kyoukai no Kanata was good up until the ending. A bit over done there. One too many loops on the roller coaster, but I still liked it overall. Really liked Enchanted Parade. Would definitely recommend both of those movies if anyone hasn't seen them. Dunno what I'll start next. Got a massive list, but kinda in burn out mode now. Will probably give Gangsta a go eventually...maybe. 226

I mean the money you would be putting towards a curved monitor could be going to a better flat one.
Haven't used one myself so can't really judge I guess. 233

Gaming / Re: Mass Effect« on: July 17, 2015, 02:15:41 AM »Even back in the day I thought it was tedious. Barren planets with insanely vertical terrain. They can at least add stuff now a days to make it more interesting. So revisiting the idea isn't bad. Just too ahead of its time to do it well for ME1.It was fun to explore stuff back in 2007 (or whenever it came out) because it was pretty3 > 2 > 1should i get it? i've never played mass(lol kinder?) effectThe series goes somewhat downhill after ME1, and a vertical drop after ME2 They slimmed down a lot of the UI and allowed you to use whatever guns you want as well. That series improved tons as it went on. 4 should be really good as long as it doesn't get too preachy. 239
