Probs Catzilla or Hunter. Can't remember who came first. Neko and I would have giant sub threads with nothing but cat emoticons. Introduced Hunter to Persona, and we'd spaz out about that.

GG is united by a desire for better more ethical journalistic standards within the gaming industry.
why not just all journalism?
Its largely extended out since you have places like abc msnbc etc. all posting biased or misinformed articles. The focus is naturally on gaming journalism since that's where this all started, and its a bit more of a doable task.

and has shown an ability to get any topic they want trending worldwide like when you say things like this I don't even really know how to interpret your conception of who 'they' refers to There is no big room somewhere where the gamergaters unilaterally decide they want to get something trending What you mean to say is a number of things have trended worldwide flying the gamergate flag
they're a movement in the same way the people everyone calls social justice warriors collectively constitute a movement
... You don't think they're coordinating efforts via 8chan, twitter or the subreddit I linked....maybe? gg isn't just some ambiguous cloud with no cohesion. There are mass email campaigns going on to advertisers that have cost companies like Gawker over $1mil (according to Gawker themselves) Not sure where you're getting the idea that its some ambiguous term that doesn't really mean anything. But all evidence points to it being otherwise.

I didn't say people calling themselves gamergate never accomplished anything, the same way people calling themselves anonymous have accomplished things, it's beside the point
If they're accomplishing something then uniting under a single banner would by definition not be 'meaningless'..
gamergate is not united, a shared label alone doesn't automatically grant a movement cohesion
that a large group of people can come together and call themselves anonymous does not grant anonymous a cohesive political position
ggers do differ and disagree on a number of points, which is a good thing since it encourages discussion. Unlike the anti crowd who you are either with the group think 100% on every topic or they quite literally treat you like a monster. GG is united by a desire for better more ethical journalistic standards within the gaming industry. That's not a political position because gg isn't united by politics. Considering how that's lasted 6months solid now, and has shown an ability to get any topic they want trending worldwide, I don't think its accurate to say its meaningless. Its part of a larger discussion going on within the gaming industry atm.

gamergate occupies the same category of not-actually-a-cohesive-movement-but-just-a-political-flag that anonymous does, so being "pro-gamergate" is meaningless
Tell that to Gawker and all the charities GG raised thousands for. I know fuck-all about gamergate. Isn't Kotaku the source of all this?
One of the sources. There's a lot of convoluted different levels and points in time that caused it to spike and last the way it has. Makes it difficult to hold the attention of casual observers. Kotaku is a part of Gawker which is notoriously bad for shitty clickbait 'journalism'.

Should be good. Will be my first From game.
You should try the original Dark Souls on PC or something. Or 360 if you have it. It's honestly one of the best games I've ever played.
I won't urge you to play Dark Souls 2 as much.
Have a 360 and a decent gaming laptop, but I doubt I'll get back to it. My backlog is a mess atm.

This gamergate shit is still a thing?
Read KiA more.
Just sayin being more informed doesn't hurt.
Wait, I thought KiA was mocking the gamergate stuff, similar to Tumblr in Action
Naw, its mocking Kotaku in the way TiA is mocking Tumblr.

I actually enjoyed it. Definitely on the short side, but I'd be interested in a sequel. Won't get much love here.

He's choosing to participate in gay sex, but that wouldn't necessarily make him gay. At most probably bi if he was into it since he was previously '100% straight'.
The thing is that gay, straight, bi are all words we've made to categorize sexuality and they don't necessarily match the chaotic cesspool that is the human brain. Nature doesn't always fit into neat little boxes. We still don't know a lot about the neuroscience behind sexuality and its development.
People are obviously born with predispositions, but I think it'd be ignorant to say psychological development and surroundings have no impact on one's sexual preferences.

There's definitely been a turning of the tide.
You're seeing a lot more devs and big names coming out against the anti-crowd. Totalbiscuit, Kevin Levine, Mark Kern have all been laying waste on twitter. The sjws have been becoming more and more erratic and unprofessional with their responses. Their targeting of neutrals definitely didn't help in any way.
When you hold up con-artists and hacks as your champions, attempt tell devs and artists what they are allowed to make, and classify any dissenting opinions as sexism you tend not to win over many friends.

It shocks me how popular pokemon is sometimes, even dough theirs a game called yokai watch for the 3DS (I think it was called?) thats seems like it could start rivaling pokemon
Yea youkai watch is huge in Japan. Made by Level-5. Wanted them to localize WonderFlick over to Wii U and PS4, but haven't heard anything about it. Supposedly they're working on a new game to reveal at this years E3.

How long have you had it? If they are making you wait past your warranty I'd give them hell.
Muh ps4 kept turning itself off, and they just told me to send it in. Ended up trouble shooting it myself cuz I didn't want to wait on the turn around or pay for it since the warranty is up.
Ended up fixing it with a new power cable and taking it off a surge protector.

Japan was its primary focus in the same way America is the x1's primary focus. The library has nothing to do with what was intended.
The hardware was expensive so rather than mock up the price and put in standard sd cards they decided to drop the price and make their money via proprietary cards. Either way the cost drives away customers. Which drives away devs. Which drives away customers.
Early on you had assassin's creed games on the vita since they were successful on the psp. Ubisoft ended up abandoning it like they did the Wii U due to sales numbers. Add to this the Vita is competing with Pokemon on 3DS, which everyone is going to buy, and Sony's handheld naturally gets pushed into a more niche demographic.
There's a fine line new hardware has to walk out the gate and the Vita didn't walk it. Still the best handheld ever made. Just ahead of its time. Couple years from now a powerful OLED handheld will be cheaper to manufacture and you'll see Ninty go that way.

Hardware company vs software company (though that doesn't explain the x1 UI). Different focuses. (entertainment console vs pure gaming console)
They both gambled on what would be in higher demand. Sony bet on a core gaming audience. MS tried to spread the net and appeal to casuals/nongamers as well as that core gaming audience. Gambling on power/hardware vs price as well.
MS wanted to include Kinect and have 3 separate operating systems which the ddr3 ram is optimized for. While Sony gambled on graphics putting in a stronger gpu and graphics optimized gddr5 ram while cutting out the camera.
Just because MS is the larger company doesn't mean they're dumping their billions into the xbox division. Majority of their profits and focus are from/on Windows.
If you want to know who really fucked up this gen the answer is Nintendo who didn't go to x86, and as a result will go another gen without multiplats.
Edit: Also the reason the xbone is VCR shaped is because MS lost a ton of money out the gate on the 360 due to replacing overheating consoles. So they made a big vent box this time around probably because execs were afraid of repeating that.

He cried because he wasn't really the pottery genius. He was just the twin brother in disguise, and all he wanted was their fathers love.
Then he hypnotized everyone and made googly eyes at Otonashi...

What did we gain? Well we had entertainment.
But what did the Pats and the NFL gain? Billions of dollars. For a useless game that accomplishes nothing of substance. Entertainment is worth nothing. We have enough fucking mindless entertainments already. And if one form of entertainment involves the physical extortion of efforts, all for a frivolous game, it's not worth it. It's not worth it at all.
You must be a blast at parties.
