Serious / Re: When would you recognize a transgendered person as their desired gender/sex?« on: April 26, 2015, 08:27:51 AM »
It doesn't seem all that complicated to me? I just call people by the pronouns they want. If I call them by the wrong one when we first meet and they want to get pissy about it that's their problem. I'm not psychic.
In my head though I still tend to identify people by their biological sex. I guess I don't really care enough for it to be a big deal. People are people. Unless you want me to call you a two spirit otherkin we're probably cool. 1323

Serious / Re: Do you think the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were justified?« on: April 25, 2015, 11:11:12 AM »
Difficult to say. Not being alive at the time. World war. Death toll being what it was. Targeting of civilians is rarely justified. If ever. It did ultimately end the war though. Not as if we weren't fire bombing cities, and running internment camps for American citizens at the time. So morals were a bit different back then.
I don't think I'd have done it if it were me tbh. Feel like we probably had better options available. Japan is very dependent on imports hence the reason for their war in the first place. Sinking their navy and a blockade would have left them in a very tight spot. At the very least drop a couple warning nukes of their coast. 1330
Serious / Re: POKEMON OPPRESSES PEOPLE; GENDER CONDITIONING STARTS AT BIRTH« on: April 25, 2015, 10:48:48 AM »I wouldn't say that's the reason many are transhumanist at all. That's not been my understanding of it at least. To achieve it you'd have to remove free will which would be hypothetically possible down the line, but the ethics of it would be arguable at the very least. Not to mention it'd require an amount of force.? Except transhumanism isn't arguing for "nothing to complain about / ever lasting peace status". Just the advance, end of the species evolution via technology.the reason many people are transhumanists is because they want to remove all suffering from the human condition Naive outlook for those that think that way anyways. 1331

Game looks quite good and interesting. One of those that if I had more time I'd definitely pick up. Hearing some Aussie accent in there. Can't remember if it was this or the movie that was suppose to be set in 'Murica™. t(-_-t) 1334

Liked it well enough when I played it. Up there for one of the better ones in the series. Eventually got bored of the boat, and land missions were the same stuff in the other games, but at least they let you vote so I could give the follow missions crap ratings.
Enjoyed the story and Edward's character. Selfish bad guy MC just made me want to play as a Templar. Can't be bothered to go back and try rogue tho. 1340

The Flood / Re: Sleep schedule« on: April 24, 2015, 10:57:42 AM »
When I was young my parents woke up around 4am to get ready for work and would drop me and my sister off at our grandparents house. My grandpa would let me stay up rather than go back to sleep since I never wanted to.
After high school I got a job (some of the weebs will remember the details) that required crazy hours. Everything from 15 hr work days to random surprise night shifts and constantly being on call. Been fucked ever since. Occasionally I'll get it sorted for a month where I wake up at 5am and go to bed at 9-10pm, but it usually doesn't last long. Probably a bit genetic as well since neither my old man or his dad sleep/slept well. 1342

There are definitely revisionists out there on the jap side, but on the Korean side as well. None of this is really news. Japan and Korea hate each other with a passion. Hilarious to watch them literally call each other gooks tho. 1346

Once again tb is the voice of reason in a sea of spurg. Suggest watching the entire vid. He covers both angles quite well while giving the positives and negatives.
YouTube Personally I just can't see myself paying for a mod for largely the same reasons I would never buy into early access. Hell these days I can barely trust professional devs much less some kid on his laptop. Valve taking a 75% cut for doing nothing, and people stealing and monetizing mods others created is moronic tho. 1348

Around 5, but mostly active for the last two. On and off for the rest. Played the games since the CE and Xbox launch.
Could we please stop referring to ourselves as "the bungie community" since we've kinda disowned them. |
