The first one has more interesting lore and much cooler bosses but I still like the 2nd

Actually never really got into the Toukiden series. Not a huge fan of teh monster hunter-esque games for some reason. I think its cuz it gets too repetitive/grindy for me. I'm big on plot. The only boss battle game I've really enjoyed is Soul Sacrifice, but that's a bit different.
That and I've only been able to seriously weeb up my gaming for the last couple of years. The last few gens I was a dudebro shooter on xbax. Stuck to gameboy for muh jrpgs.
The anime fanbase and the jrpg fanbase are definitely different groups though. With a some overlap. You'll have anime fans who hate jrpgs and jprg fans who hate anime, and anything inbetween. So the weebs here may not dive deep into this type of stuff.
Edit: Also damnit byrne. I changed my name so plebs would stop confusing me with other people.
