I mentioned liking the graphics, but I didn't really emphasize how much I liked the visual style as well. I have a bad history with Platinum games (haven't enjoyed a single title), but if there's one area where they always seem to deliver for me, it's the visuals. It's very slick, and I like a little bit of steampunk in my life.

I don't think I ever found myself using any of the items I picked up, though... They were just kinda there. I picked up some iron ore, a crystal, and some other things along those lines, but I don't think I ever actually used any of it. What were they for?

I thought I liked 2B's design--and on paper, I still kinda do. But what I didn't like is how much the camera seems to like her design, and how much it seems to think we, as an audience, aren't quite getting enough out of it. Sorry, game, I don't need to have these brief yet candid glimpses at her exposed thighs to see that she does indeed have exposed thighs, thank you very much. To quote 2B herself, "It's not necessary."

I really like her design too, I actually really like Taro's designs in general, but he;s always had a way of making some skin-showing beauties, I guess its just what he likes- I mean; he is Japanese so no surprise there. The camera being pushed away I dont seem to be a problem, like I don't agree it's unnecessary in its own right, but what I find stupid is why do that when people found a way to get past that, you can indeed look up her skirt.

You know what else isn't necessary? This shit. Apparently, if you manage to pan the camera directly under 2B's skirt, she'll briskly push it away. I'm actually not entirely sure how to feel about that. On one hand, it's a clever way to discourage doing silly shit like that--but on the other hand... is it really discouraging it? The developers gave her an ass and panties to look at. They're there in the game. If anything, having 2B be self-aware enough to know when the player is checking her out is a subtle way of making her even more sexually alluring, making it seem less like subtle discouragement and more like blatant encouragement.

Ladders everyone. The biggest problem I have with it is its not the design I hate, not the fact she's and extremely pretty character, for a robot. -It's the response.

You have this many pages of her alone, and half of that was after two days, and its porn. Or its her arse out. True enough, its the designs fault for making it, but its just so crazy that its not even out already. And we're only getting to the images of her being pinned down by robots. So I got you on that, I like the design but its promoting something that's just eye rolling, of course, in its own nature, its just people admiring her in a weird way.

And 2B's supposed to be an android, right? Why does she need panties? Why does she have breasts? Why does she need to wear that dress, or that hairstyle? What is the practical, robotic purpose of her ladylike hip swivel during her walking animation? Why is she female to begin with?

The answer here is Yoko Taro.

The gameplay I loved, I felt the frsh feeling of having another fast-paced hack and slash, with its own little spin (the camera going to platform and over head) being a Nier thing to begin with, I found no trouble with the gameplay, but that;s probably because I knew what was coming. As Aria said, and I agree, the shooting part felt too easy and a little cheap because it got you out of trouble but I honestly feel you can take that way by playing on hard (What I think people should just play)

I love launching enemies into the air and slashing the shit out of them--I just hope this sort of gameplay doesn't get old too fast in the full game. What I need is more weapons and more ways to attack your enemies. Otherwise, it gets super dry super fast.

I'm confident that its going to have a wide range, they showed off a lot of weapons of different variety and I'm hoping the skill trees are fleshed out and you get to use a lot more, of course the demo does this on purpose, right?

The graphics are pretty and the music was awesome. The music in particular was probably my favorite thing about the whole thing. I think dramatic organs are very underrated. I could see myself listening to this track in my free time.

Regarding the whole her emotions going from no emotions to HOLY SHIT THE KID IS DYING in literally minuets, I think its a bad way of saying she's more human than we're lead to believe, the whole typical robots can be human (sometimes more) as humans can be, Rogue One and Titanfall 2 does this. I don't think it'll ruin much from a story perspective, because you'll be with 9S through the game, he's basically going to be the little brother.

Maybe 2B is a young android who hasn't learned how to keep her emotions fully in check yet, but still understands the tactical importance of doing so

I kind of think so too, or it could just be above.

Overall, I think the game will do well and I think its pretty well designed so I'm excited, it could just be the fanboy in me that thinks it'll fly through well, it has a bigger audience this time and I do expect to see a lot of clashing reviews on it, either way- I'm eager to read about it given I've been into Nier since it came out and its just nice to see its getting bigger, even if that's mostly because of her 'features' At any rate, glad you found some fun and it didnt boggle your mind to the point of wanting to murder Taro.

You're not going to enjoy the gameplay if you don't enjoy fast paced hack'nslash


I wouldn't compare it to MGR, but its just because it Platinum games, so if you like their work, you might enjoy it

I have yet to use anything other than Tone or Ion. They're pretty great so far.
