I've been wondering why I haven't been annoyed by how much empty space and (ostensibly) boring running there is in the overworld. It has a lot of open world tropes that are tired and uninspired in other games like the towers, but I think this guy explains how this open world is set apart from the many others that are out there:

Potatoes are a starch, they don't really count as vegetables, nutritionally.

yeah

I've seen 2 so far.

One was in some area where it doesn't fucking stop raining

Shoot them in different parts of the body for rare materials. They typically spawn at night.

I'm roasting a pan of asparagus right now. Brussels sprouts are good too. Cut in half, cover in oil, salt, and pepper, roast with the cut side down in a 450 degree oven with 2 tablespoons of water, covered tightly for 10 minutes and uncovered for another 10.

Tangentially on topic cuz breast cancer is a woman's issue... you guys know I'm a staunch atheist, but my mom is extremely sick and her outlook isn't too great, so if anyone wants to pray for her, that'd be cool. I never thought I'd pray, but I have been recently, just in case.

I'm really sorry to hear that, man. I don't know anything about your mom's case, but my wife used to be an oncology nurse and she says families usually feel that the outlook is worse than it actually is. I hope she recovers.

Also sort of co-opted by the fizzling Day Without Women movement.

So what are you doing to celebrate the women in your life today?

Goddamn there's just so much to do in this game, but it feels like the main story can't keep up at all. Both beasts I've completed so far have been extremely easy, and I can't really see the castle being a big spike. There's a lot of difficult upgrades to get, but I just don't really see a point, especially if you can't continue playing after the end.
That's why I'm exploring more than doing the story and I will hold off on defeating Gannon until I've done everything else. Also. You can play after beating the game. I won't say anymore than that since some might consider it a spoiler.

The game saves before fighting Ganon and that's where you start when you finish.. There's no endgame.

Just a reminder that Wikileaks is an information laundering source used by countries like China and Russia to legitimize and weaponize propaganda stolen from US citizens and institutions.
To make us like them and not our own country? Well, I don't pay much attention to Wikileaks, but if Russia wants to release this, good on them. CIA shouldn't be spying on everyone, especially their own people.

This is Propaganda 101

There is, as of yet, no corroborating evidence that this is true, and probably without reading anything except maybe this article at most, you've already espoused the idea that 1) the CIA spies on citizens using these techniques, and illegally, 2) these techniques are bad, and 3) that it's good for our enemies to do this.

It's amazing to watch the same people who praised WikiLeaks for Clinton's emails to vilify them because they dare messed with US intelligence.
I think you mean the DNC leak. Wikileaks had nothing to do with Clinton's email scandal; all of that was done through investigations and FoIA requests.

Separate post so responders can avoid spoilers:

Can anyone that has the flamebreaker set clarify why anyone should spend 2k on a helmet when the free tunic provides sufficient flame resistance?
The tunic doesn't get you a set bonus upon upgrading it, I'd imagine.

Right, but what is that set bonus?

crowbcat exaggerates for comedic effect, but there are still major issues. The examination of the dock was an eye opener for me.

Totally unrelated, but FUCK amiibos. Locking shit like Epona and classic green tunics behind what amounts to ridiculously overpriced DLC is something that gamers should protest rather than embrace.

It's only fair to label Pence crooked as well for doing something which is in the same lines as Hilary.

It wasn't though. He wasn't handling classified material in his email, and it was perfectly legal and normal in his state.

Okay to take screenshots get the screen the way you want (dont take a photo with the slade thats not what this is).

When its in place hit the home button, that screen is temporarily saved....now this is where it gets dumb. You need to then go to the internet browser via the WiiU then to i.nintendo.net here you can upload the screen to facebook, tumblr or twitter.....yeah I know

From here you log into the account of whichever site, select 'browse images' and your screenshot will be there. Hit upload and itll turn up on the medium of your choice. You know what to do from there.
ah, neat

here's me

not terribly exciting, but i like this color--complements my blue horse

Please tell me that red shirt isn't a Nintendo Switch shirt

I fought my first boss out in the overworld: a hinox. Pretty boring fight. It was like a very slow Asylum Demon from DkS. Got a shitload of gems from rocks in his cave though.
Well, I found a Hinox.

I would've beat him, too, until a fucking Lynel appeared out of nowhere to back him up.

As happy as I am to see some classic Zelda 1 enemies making their returns, I can't say I missed these motherfuckers.

Are lynels those four legged horse guys? Yeah, fuck them and their 2-3K health.

893
Finished my first divine beast and had a blast. I went with Vah Medoh first, hoping there was some sort of flying related ability you pick up. These may be some of my favorite Zelda dungeons at this rate: no bullshit with fairies or other stuff, just lots of puzzles. And the boss fight was fantastic, if a bit easy.

Anyone have preferred rupee earning techniques? I've just been gathering all the apples in Hateno, cooking them, and selling. 5 apples cooked sells for 50. I'm being stingy with all my gems though.

savescumming the gambling game doesn't count.

Can anyone drop a spoiler about whether we get some way to travel or climb faster later on? I met an NPC early on that hinted at getting wings at some point.
I think I'm behind you in terms of progression, but do remember that you can warp to shrines, Skyrim-style, if your horse isn't fast enough for you (even though it probably should be). As for climbing, I couldn't tell you.

Yeah, I've been running around unlocking warp points but there are huge stretches of land where there aren't any, and ranches are few and far between so it can be difficult to get a horse on some parts of the map.

I never thought I'd say this for an open world RPG(-lite), but we need more fast travel points. Maybe I'm just exploring too much. I did get to the castle gates though, which was pretty neat.

Well, it's not Zelda if the first boss isn't simple (assuming they're ordered). I'd rather not have known all that extra information, though--"I'm four towns in" would've been plenty.

Chances are, I'll end up enjoying the hinox fight more now, due to lowered expectations. Which is fine; I like liking things, but I'd rather like them organically.

I'm glad to hear about the caves. I was starting to wonder where they were at.

It's not the first boss, it's just a big enemy presented as a sort of boss, with a big name and health bar. There are supposed to be a few of them scattered around. I've already found a second hinox.

898
I just got a couple of really cool swords that I'm basically never using until I can confirm I can get more of them. ::)

I hope you guys aren't progressing too hard along the critical path, and allowing yourself to get lost in the game's idyllicism. I've been dilly-dallying a lot, and I'm yet to reach the second town (though I'm heading their today).
I've found four towns, but I've only just finished getting the camera rune in the story. My inventory is full of guardian weapons from the strength trials, and I'm not using any of them, so I know how you feel.

Do you need to be married for that?
