Ngl I miss the Nintendo gallery sidequest but I'm glad it returned in some form with the Hyrule compendium
I feel like some extreme photographer but I regret not taking photos of the bosses on the Divine Beasts
ahh fuck
That's going to haunt the rest of this playthrough.... Those empty spaces
At least I managed to photograph the Lyonel at the Zora place right before it died. I probably would have missed out on the reward for it if I hadn't, unless it respawns?
It respawns at the blood moon.
Also, Hero Mode is coming in a few weeks so don't worry about the bosses.
Are there any details about the new mode? Also, I just read that the DLC is only available via the season pass, not individually...that's worse than any other DLC scheme I've ever seen. And I'm still salty as fuck about the amiibo-locked content. There are five armor sets available through amiibos + Epona, so for all the content announced for the game (and on the game disc) you'd have to spend $89 in addition to the base cost of the game ($60).

There are quite a few like that. Usually when the shrine itself is challenging to get to, you don't have to do an additional puzzle.
Yeah, I just cleared the labyrinth in the Akkala region. That was awesome. I loved the music.
Spoiler And the Minotaur helmet as the final prize? Perfect.
Did you hop down the hole in front of the shrine in the maze? And yeah, damn there are some really great pieces of music that they save for specific times. It makes them very special.

So I have all but one of the memories: the one with a bunch of trees and nothing else. Can anyone drop a hint that's not an exact location, but a step in the right direction?

What's so special about it? I just unlocked it.
It's literally just... "here's a Spirit Orb."
i dunno, i found it amusing

The Super Gut Check challenge is really broken. With 6 stamina containers and upgraded climbing gear, I'm pulling 800+ rupees each run (3 minutes). On my worst runs I'm getting 600+.
What the hell are you talking about?
North of Goron City on a tall pillar there's a goron mini-game where you climb up the pillar in 3 minutes collecting rupees. 100 rupees to play, and there are two silver rupees, one gold rupee, and a bunch of smaller ones.

It took me a little while to realize what the divine beasts are named after
Oh...
Are they named after stuff? Now I feel dumb.
Van Medoh- Either Mido or Medli? Vah Ruta- Ruto Vah Naboris- Nabooru Vah Rudania- Darunia
That's perfect. You can throw weapons (including rusty ones) into an octorok's suction attack and it'll spit it out as good as new. The easiest place to do that is from the Goron City shrine. so wait
are you talking about the blue ones or green ones?
i've also never seen one perform a suction attack
Not sure what color. They suck in air and then spit out a rock; normally they're killed by throwing a bomb into their mouth Andross-style. Also, I may have been wrong about repairing regular weapons (I haven't confirmed it myself; I threw a weapon in but killed it before I saw the effect seen in the gif below). Rusty weapons do work 100% though.

The Zuna Kai Shrine.
that is all
Where's that?
Right "eye" of Skull Lake, northwest of East Akkala Stable.
I'll check it out.

59 shrines 24 Korok seeds Speaking of which, I was trying to find a good selfie spot and stumbled into a Korok right outside the sanctum.

I wonder if you can repair weapons in this game. I don't wanna lose my flameblade because it keeps my body warm in snowy mountains.

tfw no rendition of the song of time
(Link isn't working on my phone for some reason but search up "breath of the wild temple of time song". It's a very slowed down and broken version, but it's there.
The fight with Ganon has a song of time theme to it, too. Edit: nvm, it's just Zelda's theme.

just watched the "mipha's touch" memory
god i love this game
I couldn't stand that one because her VA is so awful. I'm surprised you tolerate it, since they're very anime-y and you seem to really dislike those voice actors too.

It's kinda silly that they're still going with the "explorers, not soldiers" narrative. Almost everything they've shown details how to murder anything they come across as they conquer their way through Andromeda.

Aw, don't bring Rag'n'bone Man into this mess.
The female character's face looks like she's having an allergic reaction.

I think this game is further proof that there's no real Zelda timeline, and that it was an attempt to loosely connect the games, completely unnecessarily. Besides the few specifically connected games, it seems apparent that the games are only thematically connected.
I had this idea going in that the game would actually "converge" the three timelines somehow.
There is a reference to Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, and OoT in one of the memories, so the leading theory is that this is the future of TP, but the 10,000 years time gap and the Sheikah being some highly advanced civilization don't match anything in the previous timelines.

Major didn't give a shit about her body, though. She basically had no awareness of her physical appearance, and it's not as if she had any overtly Asian features anyway. Robots have no phenotype.

So the Master Sword is...Spoiler kinda weak. Does it improve at all?
Spoiler I don't think our weapons are meant to improve, I think we're supposed to utilise the elixirs and meals to improve our damage.
Spoiler It doubles its power when used against Ganon forms or guardians (not in shrines though). And it doesn't lose durability when fighting those enemies, either, so it's perfect for clearing the castle and surrounding area.
Spoiler It doesn't lose durability at all, though. From what I can tell.
It does, but it recharges after 10 minutes.

lmao
I dunno what you expected to happen waltzing around a place like that.
It's actually a lot of fun once you can tackle guardians pretty easily. There's a ton of great loot around.

So...I accidentally beat the game. I was messing around the castle looking for a certain shield, and I stumbled into a room called the "sanctum", which kicked off the final fight (plus the blight form that I hadn't fought in one of the dungeons yet). Feel free to AMA about ending spoilers. Obviously I started from the prior save and will be completing the game at a normal pace. I think Verb would consider even my impressions of the fight to be a spoiler, so that's what I've included below (and nothing else): Spoiler 5/10 boss fight as far as Zelda bosses, especially Ganon fights go. I was really not impressed at all. Though there was some nice spectacle to it.

Is nobody going to talk about how bad the voice acting is for Zelda and Mipha?
