Am I doing something wrng with this Super Gut Check thing? I'm barely pulling 300 rupees every run.

Climbing gear + at least 2 stamina meters?

I go up and to the right for the first silver rupee, stand at the edge of the top to get stamina back, then paraglide to the center silver rupee and the left silver rupee, then climb over farther to the left to grab the gold, then I hop up to the top.

Check out one example:
YouTube

This is almost exactly what I do, but I pause at the top after the first silver rupee (you can stand up as long as you don't run up and trigger the win animation). He also misses a silver rupee when he first paraglides down; it's right around the "corner" of the mountain before the landing spot. Once you practice it a couple times it should become a lot easier. Have some stamina regen food on hand as a safety net. Don't worry about time; you can crawl instead of jump for longer stretches and still be done in plenty of time.

I can record my method (which is better than the one posted here) if I can figure out how to record. Or I can just have my wife record it sometime tomorrow.

I think my game may have glitched somehow because the ball in the Rudania beast just straight up disappeared. Spent an hour looking for it, but when I teleported in and out it was there.
I think it's possible to roll it out a window into the lava. Could that have happened?

It won best makeup. Kill me.

It was seriously good work.

Are you joking? Seriously, I mean. Because Croc looked fucking terrible. It was a guy in face paint and a hoodie.

Just got unlocked the final memory. Good stuff.

Do you get something cool from Impa when you find all of them?

I haven't gone back to her yet, but I don't think so. I think the reward is just seeing the story.

Why, was the makeup bad? I honestly cannot fault them for that.

What about Hightail Lizards?

Those are a pain. I just put them on my slate sensor and ran around fields.

I don't have a picture of them yet, sadly.

You can drop one from your inventory and take a quick picture. If you're quick enough you can pick it up again. It helps to do it facing the corner of a room.

I hope this game doesn't suffer the same fate as so many other RPGs by only have 1 top-tier armor set.

Fortunately, there isn't one set that's the best. Cloth sets cap out at 20 per piece and armored sets get up to 28, but the soldier set gives no set bonus and the ancient armor is specific to guardians. So the best set for the castle is probably full ancient, but that's really expensive and ultimately unnecessary. The barbarian set gives an attack boost, but that's also tough to get. I'm just rolling with Fashion of Zelda by mixing whatever looks coolest. Currently using diamond circlet, champion tunic, and ancient greaves.

823
(oh no, I'm turning into Adam from YMS).

I downloaded The Holy Mountain because of him and I'm scared to watch it because it looks so fucking stupid and I don't want to lose my admiration for him.

824
I'm gonna say it niggas "The Shining"

I watched that for the first time recently and aside from the incredible cinematography, I thought the story was an incoherent mess and the child actor's performance was unwatchable.

Where's that Super Gut Check challenge you were talkinh about? I've just arrived at Goron City.

Look to the north for a tall pillar.

Making fun of horror cliches has become a cliche in and of itself--just watch Scream, Evil Dead, or Army of Darkness. Or even Shaun of the Dead.

It isn't meant to be a parody (though there is some humor), and it doesn't try to do anything that those movies did. It's not a parody of the tropes, it's a satirical commentary about what we view as entertainment, and how films often have to resort to those tropes to please audiences. I'm not trying to change your mind, and I hate to suggest you didn't get it, but just based on your reaction, I don't think you did. It's definitely the opposite of a love letter to contemporary horror films.

I don't really understand the point of these international X days. Like, what are you supposed to do?
Nothing. You're just virtue signaling

Pointing out virtue signaling is just another form of virtue signaling.

Spoiler
But that means pointing out virtue signaling is just another form of virtue signaling is also a form of virtue signaling.

828
Drive.

I like two things in movies, copious amounts of action (Bayformers/Expendables) and/or good dialogue.

I don't like artsy gormless staring at the camera in place of conversations with the odd bit of :^) violence thrown in. Definitely not my kind of film.

Tarantino fan?

Gotta feed them 3 times.
Like, in a row, or could I go back to the first dog I met and feed it twice?

Not sure about that.

830
Zombieland. I guess I can understand why people like it, but it is vastly overrated imo
Speaking of that, Cabin in the Woods.

That shit was fucking horrible.

As a horror movie, yes.

Material/Game Feature/Equipment Spoiler
Anyone have any idea where I can grab me some Star Fragments? I used one upgrading my Diamond Circlet but I need another for my Ruby Circlet.
Farosh Spoilers
Also, I'm assuming I need to shoot Farosh's horns to get "Farosh Horns" material, right?

Second question: yes

First question: There are a couple dogs that will lead you to chests with those items in it (two total, I believe), and I can tell you where they are if you want. Other than that, it's a random occurrence.

Do I just feed the dogs and they'll lead me? Which dogs?

And yeah, I just answered my own second question at the top of the Gerudo Highlands. Perfect spot to find Shenron.

Spoiler
Snowfield Stable and Lurelin Village. Feed them three times and they should lead you to a chest.

I mean, posts saying he's an actual Holocaust survivor. It's just really funny.

Sounds more like fans just reacting to a clickbait title and picture. I just don't really see the humor in mocking them. Ha ha, they're dumb and I'm not?

Can anyone articulate what sets this game apart from other open world games? The gameplay demos I've seen so far look good, but not particularly unique. Hunter-gather-craft-repeat type stuff.

the setting and progressive plot

Can you elaborate?

i don't think i've seen a setting quite like horizons before, as in some kind of proto-civilization living in the post apocalyptic ruins of their former high tech civilization. it's actually what had me initially interested in it.

Spoiler
as for the story it's about how women and minorities fix the world that the evil white man destroyed. there are also jabs at conservatives in the audio and text logs, one that particularly stands out is one where they have Nigel not-farage pretty much say that refugees should drown themselves

As far as the setting goes, do they get creative with it beyond what I've seen, which is mainly using advanced technology to make simple tools (bows and traps)? Is it more than just robo-animals/dinosaurs?

The plot sounds kind of on the nose though. Check out this article when you get a chance; oddly enough, that plot summary sounds almost exactly like the excerpt from The Great Gatsby which is used as a point of criticism of the left's leveraging of intellectualism against others. Ultimately I'm kind of turned off by that description because video games with politicized themes almost always fail to deliver any unique or even cogent thoughts.

Did "the internet" actually get enraged, or did some people make posts on social media? Didn't we just go through a phase about taking social media comments as news at face-value, and learn that it's a dumb thing to do?

Ngl I miss the Nintendo gallery sidequest but I'm glad it returned in some form with the Hyrule compendium

I feel like some extreme photographer but I regret not taking photos of the bosses on the Divine Beasts :(
ahh fuck

That's going to haunt the rest of this playthrough.... Those empty spaces :(

At least I managed to photograph the Lyonel at the Zora place right before it died. I probably would have missed out on the reward for it if I hadn't, unless it respawns?

It respawns at the blood moon.

Also, Hero Mode is coming in a few weeks so don't worry about the bosses.

Are there any details about the new mode?

Also, I just read that the DLC is only available via the season pass, not individually...that's worse than any other DLC scheme I've ever seen. And I'm still salty as fuck about the amiibo-locked content. There are five armor sets available through amiibos + Epona, so for all the content announced for the game (and on the game disc) you'd have to spend $89 in addition to the base cost of the game ($60).

Nothing new outside of the Season's Pass description.

Isn't the amiibo content unlockavle through the season's pass as well? Or am I thinking of that wrong.

Nope, amiibo content is only available via the amiibos. They've announced no plan to include it in the second DLC.

And yeah, it's confirmed that the hard mode is NG+, not something you can turn on in your current game.

Please don't tell me that the new game plus mode is only accessible via a season pass...

It is. Nintendo is telling fans to go fuck themselves and pony up for the cash. And you just know hard mode and cave of trials were removed from the base game for this.
