I see this conspiracy as similar to flat earthers -- most of the people that talk about it are in on the joke, and there's a small minority that actually believe it and are the butt of said joke.

But on Sunday, presented with The Times’s findings, he offered a new account. In a statement, he said he had met with the Russian lawyer at the request of an acquaintance from the 2013 Miss Universe pageant, which his father took to Moscow. “After pleasantries were exchanged,” he said, “the woman stated that she had information that individuals connected to Russia were funding the Democratic National Committee and supporting Mrs. Clinton. Her statements were vague, ambiguous and made no sense. No details or supporting information was provided or even offered. It quickly became clear that she had no meaningful information.”

Some leaker or whistleblower tells a Trump aid about Russian ties to the DNC/Clinton, and it's Trump who's at fault?

So this is evidence that Hillary was aided by Russians?

Seems like it's entirely the fault of the flight attendant that shrugged it off instead of going back to the ticket counter and confirming. You'd think they'd all be focused on preventing these issues given the negative PR lately.

CNN is not publishing "HanA**holeSolo's" name because he is a private citizen who has issued an extensive statement of apology, showed his remorse by saying he has taken down all his offending posts, and because he said he is not going to repeat this ugly behavior on social media again. In addition, he said his statement could serve as an example to others not to do the same.

CNN reserves the right to publish his identity should any of that change.
They write this as if they sound tough and investigative, rather than petty and suppressive of free speech.

getting more ammo =/= the game is suddenly not scary. You can still easily manage to scare people with psychological things, surprise attacks, and the fact only a few hits kill you.

That was just my view. Dying easily doesn't scare me, and jump scares don't count IMO. I think it helps though; in RE7 it felt like a natural character progression once I got out of the house -- I was more confident, snuck around a lot less, and didn't feel scared. I don't even think players were supposed to be scared throughout the entire game.

tbf it's pretty hard to balance action and horror. The second you get a gun and a decent supply of ammo, no game can be scary. After killing Jack in RE7, the rest of the game is just casual puzzles and some simple shooting.

From the wife:

1. Any time a guy has a boner that won't go away is pretty bad. It's embarrassing for everyone, and they have to stick a needle into the guy's dick to drain the blood.

2. Last week she had a guy come in with diarrhea who ran past the desk and yelled that he was shitting his pants.

Al Baghdadi is a psych nurse. Her stories are nightmare fuel

Psych patients are the reason she never wants to work in the ED after this. Your girl's a trooper.

No one knows yet about 7 really. He might be involved, but it was more or less kind of a soft reboot. Keeping mostly independent of other RE games until the very end run.

What was that gun that they dropped to Ethan at the end of the game? Is that some sort homage to a BFG/RYNO/etc. type gun from the rest of the series?

That fucking ending, though. The fucking balls on that director, putting that in a mainstream film. The movie sucks, but I like it just for that.

Nips are pretty introverted but also accepting, which is the opposite of how the West reacts to terrorism and other cultures.

So for now I bought the remake and 4. Considering Revelations 1 or 2, and hunting down a copy of 2.

Sounds like 1/2/4/7 are the most highly praised ones in this thread, though I think I'll try to play the series in order.

Fans that follow the series: is 7 intended to be a soft reboot sort of thing? Is Ethan going to be a new character or was he just involved in 7 only?

The remake of 1 (it's on Steam, arguably the RE ever in terms of atmosphere before 7), 2, 3, Code Veronica, 4, and 5.

If 7 drew you in, I highly recommend the 1 remake. You'll see the significance of the ending of the 7th one, as well as the start of everything. Plus they don't have tank controls.

Just to confirm: Resident Evil 2 is NOT Resident Evil Revelations 2? Steam seems to be missing a couple of the core games.

Yeah. I got flustered with the questions that involved strategy—because while I love strategy, and I enjoy slower-paced games that make you think in the long-term—I simply can't get into RTS games, despite the fact that they technically meet that description.

Looking back on the quiz, the questions seemed to just be thinly veiled versions of, "do you like action games with guns?", "do you like action games with explosions?", "do you like single-player strategy games?", etc.

It's a straightforward way of getting those results, but I was expecting it to try to interpret those preferences with a little more depth.

Ryuk should never have been copied from the anime. It just looks cheesy and stupid. Willem Dafoe is probably the best way they could salvage how ridiculous the character is.

Spoiler
L looks great, but it looks like they're going a different direction with their interaction -- I haven't watched it in years, but he never came out and accused Light of being Kira until he was killed, right? And here he is doing it in what looks like a public cafe.

Stargate Atlantis and Universe.

Atlantis got cut by a series or 2 short of the planned ending and accordioned it all into 2 45-minute episodes, while Universe "ended" on a cliffhanger just when things were gettin' good.

Damn, I love Stargate. I'm actually rewatching SG-1, on season 7 now.

Yeah, Universe's cancellation was shameful. They tried too hard for a gritty, Battlestar Galactica rival, but it really picked up later on and had a ton of potential.

Calm, Proficient, Social, Deeply Immersed, and Inquisitive

Bastion
Europa Universalis IV
Crusader Kings IIFinal Fantasy VI
Darkest Dungeon
Dota 2
Starcraft II
Civ V
X-COM
Chrono Trigger

Maybe I answered inaccurately, but I find RTS and and turn-based RPGs to be some of the least enjoyable games, with exceptions.

All solid choices. That's what I'd go with too.

Looks like Steam doesn't actually have 2. How about Zero HD?

Will the story and characters make sense even if I skip spin-offs and 2/3/5?
