Serious / Re: Ask a Mormon anything!« on: October 12, 2014, 10:17:52 PM »haha yeah, exactly, we aren't criminals. And I don't think criminals are allowed to go on missions. They're pretty strict on who gets to go.Actually if a guy in a tank top (at least in America) came to buy door preaching about God I'd assume he was a criminal trying to turn his life around.Oh, and the suit thing is so we look respectable. It would be weird if some guy came to your door in a tank-top and shorts preaching about God...lol. We wear suits to church to show respect to God.Huh, interesting...One thing that's always bothered me about Mormons is their eerie cheerfulness and suits, now I do like a man in a suit and it's always nice to get a friendly smile but Mormons are so... unnatural about it... it's like you've all sold your souls to some eldritch horror that wants to harvest us for our skin.Truthfully, those overly happy people aren't pretending, especially the missionaries, in which I believe that's what you're referring to? hahah no offense taken. XD I understand that. But I think you may think they're creepy because of your culture. Isn't it weird for some random person to smile at you in the streets? Very much so, now make that two guys in suits, you've never met smiling at you and try to hand you an odd book or talk to you about God. If you put it like I did anyone would think it's odd/creepy. 2044

Serious / Re: Ask a Mormon anything!« on: October 12, 2014, 10:10:03 PM »What is the reason that the Golden Plates had to be magically sealed and were never shown to anyone outside of Smith's close friends? It's pretty obvious I think. They didn't have the man power to protect it, do you really think Joseph and a few of his buddies could fend off multiple mobs of people? No? Exactly. It was sealed away because it was translated, served it's purpose, and God didn't want it falling into the hands of evil people. 2046

I've talked to many missionaries and a lot of them are close friends and they said you become so happy because you mostly dedicate those to years to serving God and the people. They all said that by the end of their mission they had an overwhelming love for the people and didn't want to return home. Ask any Mormon and they will say serving others will make you happier and humble. 2050

I know you hear a lot of weird stuff so I'm hear to clear everything up. You can ask questions about doctrine or practices.
1. We're not polygamist anymore. 2. We don't have horns. 3. We're not a cult. We are Christian. 2057
