>Fox tossing (German: Fuchsprellen) was a popular competitive blood sport in parts of Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries, which involved throwing live foxes and other animals high into the air. It was practiced by members of the aristocracy in an enclosed patch of ground or in a courtyard, using slings with a person on each end to catapult the fox upwards. It was particularly popular for mixed couples, though it was hazardous for both the tossed animals and the people launching them. Sometimes the terrified animals would turn on the tossers, and the outcome for the tossed animals was usually fatal.

Other rulers also participated in the sport. The Swedish envoy Esaias Pufendorf, witnessing a fox-tossing contest held in Vienna in March 1672, noted in his diary his surprise at seeing the Holy Roman Emperor Leopold I enthusiastically joining the court dwarfs and boys in clubbing to death the injured animals.

I think the war can be blamed mostly on Austria-Hungary and Russia. If the Austrians weren't gearing up for a revenge war on Serbia, things wouldn't have gone bad. And even if it was Serbs fighting Austria, it still wouldn't have gotten as nasty as it did if Russia hadn't jumped in with their pan-Slavism bullshit.

I absolutely love this post, it is genuinely hilarious. Even typing up this commentary I'm laughing.

But it's not the sheer unmitigated edge that really makes it. No, what REALLY makes this post is how he starts off talking about pain and anger and hate, all this really deep shit, and then compares a girl who hurt his feelings to a cartoon spider.
