Hmm. Interesting, especially considering life *might have* formed on Mars before Earth was settled after the collision with Theia, and meteor impacts could have shot-off stuff from Mars to Earth... (Before Mars "died").
Plus, it always means we could send off DNA to planets too far away for us to reach but life-friendly, potentially start new life ourselves.
Yeah, could make some interesting possibilities.

Halo EU is can because it hasn't been ruled off as non-canon by neither Bungie or 343. Star Wars EU isn't canon because it has been ruled off as non-canon.
Are. You. Able. To. Comprehend?
Nope, Halo EU is all non-canon according to your butthurt logic. Just like 343, Bugie, nor Microsoft can say fuck all of the EU, Lucas nor Disney can do that either. You cannot erase thirty years of Star Wars lore, it is canon.
Are you internationally being retarded? And how the hell is my logic butthurt? You're the one who's butthurt here.
Halo's EU is canon because it is classed as canon by 343, MS and was classed as canon by Bungie too. Star Wars EU isn't classed as canon. There's nothing wrong with my logic.
Except that it's flawed since Disney is full of illiterate butt munchers who didn't bother to do any work and instead wrote everything off as non-canon 'cept the movies and their childish TV show, in their delusional minds oc.
Doesn't change the fact that Star Wars EU isn't canon
Well, that just depends on who you ask.
Yeah, and anyone who says it's canon is objectively wrong.
Except it's not opinionated. EU is ruled as non-canon. The fans don't decide what is and isn't canon.
The fans are what makes the franchise what it is, so I'd say their view holds significant sway. If someone wants to view only the movies as canon, they can. Or if they want to view everything as canon, they can. Corporate making decisions that are rash because it's too big of a task for people that know nothing about the EU to sift through it really shouldn't be considered as objective. I'm willing to bet that if they had gotten into it they would've found things they would like and that wouldn't conflict with canon. Really just a matter of laziness/not wanting to spend resources.
Fans don't decide what is and isn't canon. EU isn't canon regardless of what you or anyone else thinks.
Whatever. I respectfully disagree.
You can cover your ears all you like, but it's not going to change anything. Fans aren't the ones who call the shots, therefore EU objectively isn't canon.
Fans are the ones that the franchise exists for. But hey, whatever you want to believe is fine, that's your opinion.

Well, I know more than they do, so I'm already overqualified unfortunately.
No you don't, do you how to run a business? Do you now how to distribute merchandise worldwide and hold a corporate empire? Nah. Disney wants to make more SW movies but they can't because of the massive EU in their way. Easiest way to clear their road is to make the EU a alternate universe and be done with it.
The EU is as canon as Marvel's Ultimate Universe. It isn't.
Overqualified in knowledge of the universe and lore, as clearly Disney executives, or whoever was in charge of handling the situation, didn't as they said it was all thrown away, implying they didn't know about the stories and didn't want to sift through them. I didn't say I knew how to run a business.
If anything, this new one is the alternate universe, as the original one already happened.
How are you overqualified in knowledge of the universe if you don't even seen some aspects of Star Wars, like TCW and Rebels. If anything, you're an extremely under qualified butthurt fanboy who can't get his head out of the sand.
>Implying I didn't watch the series for quite a while then stopped when it kept getting more and more stupid. >I'd watch what's essentially the same show continued.
So you just admitted that you don't have extensive knowledge of the universe and therefore refuted your point you made earlier. lolcrymore

Even though your unwilling to watch them, shows like The Clone Wars and Rebels bring many things back into canon that were in the EU. In fact, every episode of Rebels so far as brought at least 1 thing from the EU back to being canon.
It is not "bringing it back to canon". The EU is already canon, Disney can suck a massive dick, Rebels and '08 TCW are not canon, the EU is canon.
Well, that's all fine and dandy for your personal "head-canon". However, all future projects are going to be based off of the new canon, including the new movies, which apparently have been hinted to include some characters for Clone Wars and Rebels. It's unfortunate if you preferred Legends EU, but you'll either need to accept the change or leave the franchise behind, because nothing will change the fact that it's not canon anymore. You'll just need to wait for things to become canon again through them existing in future projects.

Disney can never erase thirty years of established canon
No, but they can make it non-canon.
False. What is non-canon are the kids shows they have been making. '03 Clone Wars, the original and prequel trilogy, and most of the EU, is canon. TFU is non-canon as well.
False. All content outside of the movies isn't canon.
As of now, according to the story team, The Star Wars Movies (duh), The Clone Wars, Rebels, and all content produced from March and onward (aside from some obvious stuff, like the Lego films and shit) of 2014 are canon.

Needs more pleasing visuals. Everything is all flat. Make it pop a bit more. Give those mountains in the menu dimension. Add some value to your sky. Be more intricate with the text instead of just flat white. Gameplay wise, looks cool.

Nintendo will always be on the bottom. The WiiU is on par with the Xbox 360 and PS3, that is pathetic.
They will be hardware wise, yes. But Nintendo has the edge for the younger market and more casual market. Then there's nintendo fans, which consist of about %60 of the gaming community who spend $400+ just to play Legend of Zelda and Smash Bros.

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2014/11/141126144150.htmThe genetic material DNA can survive a flight through space and re-entry into Earth's atmosphere -- and still pass on genetic information. A team of scientists from UZH obtained these astonishing results during an experiment on the TEXUS-49 research rocket mission.
Various scientists believe that DNA could certainly reach us from outer space as Earth is not insulated: in extraterrestrial material made of dust and meteorites, for instance, around 100 tons of which hits our planet every day.
This extraordinary stability of DNA under space conditions also needs to be factored into the interpretion of results in the search for extraterrestrial life: "The results show that it is by no means unlikely that, despite all the safety precautions, space ships could also carry terrestrial DNA to their landing site. We need to have this under control in the search for extraterrestrial life," points out Ullrich. Pretty neat.

And when it comes to clamber, let's be honest....if Bungie had introduced clamber in any of the original 3 games, pretty much everybody would have loved it. I know I would have, but some people may feel it changes too much to the original Halo formula which I understand, but respectfully disagree with. In my opinion, the fact that it's 343 that added it is practically the only reason people have an issue with this particular feature, because they are convinced that 343 is ruining Halo by changing the game. I've never understood why people would rather they basically just release the same game every time with only new guns, new vehicles, and better graphics. Yep, confirmed bullshit and stupidity. As fun as telling you why this is fucking stupid for the upteenth time, I'll take a break.
I've said why this is dumb on these forums before, so feel free to dig it up and educate yourselves, because I'm not answering your pleas while saying I'm just a 343i hater.

Who the hell is Lasky?
Chief's dudebro.
You meet him in Infinity. He's a main character in Halo 4. He's also the main character of Forward Unto Dawn.
Were people actually supposed to remember any of the boring characters from Halo 4?
How could you forget this sexy beast? Spoiler I think his dick imploded when Sarah Palmer was screaming Eggheads during sex. Boy be whipped.

So a lot of people (not just limited to these forums) seem to have major issues with the changes in Halo 5: Guardians. Let's talk about it.
First off, let's talk about smart scope. To start off, let's describe ADS. ADS is a system where you (A)im (D)own (S)ights to improve your accuracy as opposed to firing from the hip. This also slows down your characters movement and is almost universally done by holding the left trigger of your controller and having the gun animated to come up close to your screen. Everybody agree? Ok, now let me continue by saying that smart scope is not ADS. Smart scope has already been confirmed by 343 as a visual reskinning of the zoom function from all previous Halo games. They have also confirmed that there is NO PENALTY to accuracy when firing from the hip, which is what Halo has always been and also the movement will not be slowed like games with ADS. So it can not possibly be correctly labeled as traditional ADS because of the fact that there is no accuracy penalty to the hip firing aiming system that Halo is known for, it is simply a more updated and more interesting visual take on the zoom function that Halo has always had. Next, let's talk about sprint.Sprint is an armor ability introduced in Reach as a recharging ability to...well, run. In Reach you couldn't do it continuously, and you also had to sacrifice the use of other available armor abilities that you could choose in that game. In Halo 4, it was made into a universal feature outside of armor abilities that anyone could do pretty much whenever they wanted with very little cooldown time between uses, and even an ability to make it usable indefinitely by choosing a particular Tactical package in your loadout. Because of this, Halo 4 changed a fundamental part of how Halo has always had to be played. In previous Halo games, once you start a firefight, you are usually stuck in it until it's over. In Halo 4 (and also somewhat in Halo Reach), players had the option to run from firefights, have their shields charge while they are sprinting and hiding, and then reengage without penalty from making the first mistake of starting a fight they couldn't win and the other player losing out on a kill that they probably deserved. I personally see sprint as a gameplay improving feature, but not the way it was implemented in Halo 4. In Halo 5, sprint will return and even become an indefinite ability among all players, but shields will no longer recharge while a player is sprinting. This will give a huge penalty to sprinting that balances out with its usage and helps it fit into the sandbox well, in my opinion. Next, thruster pack, ground pound, and clamberThruster pack is an ability from Halo that's been rather widely, although not universally, described as the best and most useful armor ability from Halo 4, while ground pound is a brand new feature new to Halo 5. All player's now have the ability to use both thruster pack and ground pound throughout the match, most likely with cooldown times similar to your average armor ability. I think thruster pack may add a little too much to player movement, but I have listened to a podcast where the lead Multiplayer director at 343 mentions changes to the thruster packs distance, recovery, recharge, and overall usability from the one in Halo 4. It comes down to no one being able to know for sure until we can try it ourselves during the beta. After watching video reviews of the beta from pro players such as Ghandi, and YouTubers like GreenSkull, I'm pretty convinced that ground pound is not at all overpowered and any player who can get a kill with it deserves that kill. Another feature that we can't judge until we can test it ourselves.
I'm not going to write off 343, I much rather be a loyal fan to Halo and contribute to its development by giving LOTS of feedback on the beta and I think Halo 5 will end up a very good game worthy of the Halo name. But that's my opinion, and everyone is free to have their own. Also, does no one realize that they released the Master Chief Collection so we can have the old games on a current console so that the new games can be something different? We will literally be able to play Halo CE, 2, 3, 4, and 5 (and possibly 6) on one console. Why do you want another version of the games we already have available with nothing changed but graphics? If you ever feel like going back to old school Halo, just play MCC (Once it starts to work, that is...) and if you want something new there, will be Halo 5. Anyway, there's my rant. Congrats to anyone able to read this long ass thing. On a side note, I think the best Halo multiplayer to date is Halo 2 Anniversary, but I still think Halo 5 shows a lot of potential to be its own thing. P.S. Blue Team is basically confirmed for Halo 5: Guardians, so campaign should be amazing.

....I'm really not excited for this movie. It has J.J. Abrams' STINK all over it.
It feels like he really is going to do to Star Wars what he did to Star Trek: "Screw the source material, COOL THINGS! EXPLOSIONS! RUNNING!"
What source material?
This is purely IMO, but Star Wars was never about the flashiest shit, how many explosions there were, or "cool" things. It was about driving a hero's story. Even if this is just a teaser, it gives me the feeling that it doesn't really care about story and just wants to show cool Star Wars-y things.

The lightsabre with the crossbar, the guy in the woods with a cloak powers it up near the end of the trailer.
Huh how did I miss that.
Looks impractical.
Yup, it looks impractical and stupid as all hell. But it'll sell a lot of new lightsabre toys!
It's like they don't know how to make a lightsaber, which sounds dumb. My guess is that it is then an 'early' lightsaber... which would make this guy a cliche 'ancient evil' fuck.
