Serious / Re: Your most controversial opinions

I used to have a lot back in the day

I can only think of one now

Ego is an illusory construct. I disagree with Kant on a lot of things, but his ideas sort of hint to the concept that the visible material world is uncertain, since the pre existing structures that translate outside images are the only thing we can be certain of that exist. From this line of thinking it can be derived that ego is a collection of various things you attribute to yourself but don't describe you really, not even as an aggregate. Ego is a man made construct that exists to make things more convenient. We're really functions experiencing self awareness incessantly.

I don't think it'll ever reach the point in which AI is able to challenge human dominance. However, just because AI will always be subordinate to us doesn't mean that people will view them as slaves necessarily. I think people will view them as a brother species of sorts, with fascination and admiration.

The Flood / This is not the end
« on: June 21, 2015, 02:55:31 AM »
The pre dawn expanse is grey, yet something is glowing beyond it

A light? The rain pours down anyway

You never imagined you'd have these thoughts

Your friends knew the answer but they didn't tell you and now they're gone

And now you have the answer but you forgot the question, the rain barrages the ground outside now

The night is erased, and it takes away some of your memories with it too

You're not sure if you're happy with this or not

The rains stops. Dawn is here. You don't know if it's a gift or an extension of a prison sentence.

It's as complicated or simple as you want it to be.

The Flood / Re: We live in a computer simulated world!
« on: June 20, 2015, 11:41:33 AM »
What if we were the simulation

like, we don't exist

And what if the being responsible for the simulation was a simulation too

Literally everything is an illusion until it gets to a certain point

At a certain point there's maybe just an infinite plane of self awareness

And that self awareness exists and feeds off of the thoughts and self awareness of the simulation subjects

Maybe we're writing the very simulation with our thoughts

I feel sorta sorry for the people working on the game, they're getting lots of negative feedback

If they have the Mos Eisely level with playable jedi characters, I'm happy

It most likely will be unless the entire game is condensed inside a small area
